First off, I apologize for the lengthy review but want to provide the appropriate context for this review to be interpreted.

I am a Hilton Diamond Member from the United States. I had visited Singapore prior as my wife’s family lives there. I stayed at the Conrad Centennial Singapore 4 previous trips and in 2018 stayed at Hilton Garden Inn for 20 nights.

This was my family’s first stay at the Hilton Singapore Orchard as it converted to Hilton from the Mandarin in February 2022.

I had planned a 3 night weekend in Singapore for Father’s Day Weekend 2023 at the Hilton Singapore Orchard. I used my Amex Free night and booked two more nights at 60K points. Thereafter I was to travel to Malaysia for 4 nights before returning to the Hilton Singapore Orchard for 5 nights. I booked these nights at 60K each night (w/ 1 free night because of point reservation). I wasn’t sure what room upgrade I would receive at the Hilton Singapore Orchard and having two rooms was preferable for my family so to finish our stay in Singapore I booked the Hilton Garden Inn for 2 rooms at 30K each room each night (again w/ 1 free night each room because of point reservation).

Weeks before our trip, I contacted the hotel via Facebook/Email to request an upgrade from a standard room but was not provided any assurances of a possible upgrade.

About 4 weeks before our visit to Singapore, Hilton increased their point reservations for each night in Singapore. The Conrad went from 60K to 70K, the Hilton went from 60K to 65K, and the Garden Inn went from 30K to 40K. I believed our hotel point reservations to be locked in.

On the day of check-in and as we traveled to the hotel by Grab (similar to Uber/Lyft), I used the Hilton App to notify the hotel of our pending arrival and query of the possible upgrade and again was not provided any assurances. We arrived at the Hilton Singapore Orchard on Father’s Day Friday.

The hotel was a maze as there is the car lobby, the hotel lobby on the 5th floor, and the Mandarin Wing that has the Executive Lounge on the 6th floor. By the end of our stay, we concluded the best way to get to the Mandarin Wing was to walk thru the lobby/1st floor of the Mandarin Orchard to the express elevators of the Mandarin Wing to get to the Executive Lounge or our room thereby avoiding the hotel carpark.

Upon arriving at the Executive Lounge I was greeted by Aurelius. He had a pleasant smile. He quickly found my reservation and looked into a possible upgrade. He found a king one bedroom suite room but told me there was no view. I asked him if we waited a little longer would a one bedroom suite with a better view be available. He smiled and took to action. Upon finding a room he felt my family would be pleased with he smiled again and assured me we would be pleased with the room. We waited another 10 minutes in the
executive lounge before the room was available.

We were assigned to room 3219. This turned out to be the top floor of rooms. Our suite 3219 was central on the floor and easily accessible. The suite ended up having a living room with a circular sofa that could seat 6 comfortably but most importantly two toilets. The room was perfect for my family. The hotel guidelines provide that two children under 12 can be in certain suite rooms although I didn’t list any children on my reservation so as to be able to book the minimum point reservation.

After being upgraded to the king one bedroom suite, I felt safe in cancelling my final 5 night stay at 60k point a night at the Hilton Garden Inn and conclude our Singapore vacation with a 65k points a night for a 5 night stay (with one free night because of point reservation) at the Hilton Singapore Orchard.

The executive lounge worked for my family. It opened from 6:30 to 10:30 for breakfast. See my pictures for the hotel Diamond welcome letter for other useful information. My children liked to eat cereal, croissants, bacon, hash brown and hard boiled eggs. The lounge had plenty.

Jimmy, one of the lead supervisors at the lounge, provided us bananas every day without fault and always greeted me. He told me had worked 42 years at the previous Mandarin Orchard and continued with Hilton after the transition. How he isn’t a manager yet is curious as the wealth of experience that he had cannot be replicated. However, I appreciated his attitude and recognized his attempts to help junior employees in the lounge.

So during the father’s day weekend my family had a medical issue and we were forced to cancel our trip to Malaysia. FYI, Paragon Mall which is the opposite corner from the hotel had a medical clinic (DTAP @ Orchard) on the 8th floor. Can use Whats App to arrange an appointment. I queried if Aurelius was working on Sunday and coordinated a time to meet/work with him on the next steps. I ended up booking 4 more nights in a standard room at the Singapore Hilton Orchard at a cash rate with the assurance that we wouldn’t have to move rooms on Monday when we were supposed to checkout. Also for the Friday reservation when we were to arrive back to Singapore from Malaysia we would remain in the same room. I am deeply thankful to Aurelius for connecting the 4 reservations so for 17 nights at the Hilton Singapore Orchard were all in the same upgraded one king bedroom suite from the first night. Top Marks!

My family frequented the swimming pool often and although it is a smaller pool than the Conrad pool there was rarely more than 2 or 4 people in the pool when we went. I agree with other reviews that for the size of the hotel (1,080 rooms) the pool is incredibly small but again it worked while I was there mid-June to end of July in the late morning/early afternoon.

Halfway thru the stay I discovered my family could go to the Estate breakfast buffet for free (not mentioned in the Diamond Welcome letter). I had been paying S$3 or S$2 at the freshly squeezed orange juice machines that visitors will find all around Singapore because the Executive Lounge orange juice was only concentrate. I did mention this to Jimmy and he did say this he would elevate this to a manager. Again, surprised that Jimmy isn’t a manager yet. After this discovery I would ask to go into the Estate just to go to the juice station after a morning jog on Orchard Road or even if I had breakfast at the executive lounge.

I probably wouldn’t recommend the Estate Buffet even with the extended menu of Chinese breakfast items unless you are an early riser as the lines at 9:30pm could stretch to the hotel lobby and there was limited seating. The dinner buffet was also a little pricey (even with Hilton Diamond 25% discount) and other food options can be found locally.

313 Sommerset (5th Floor), Paragon (1 Basement), Cineleisure (McDonalds), Takashimaya (2 Basement) malls all neighbor the Hilton Singapore Orchard providing for lunch and dinner/buffet venues. We also went to 111 Sommerset and Plaza Singapaura that provided shopping and food choices.

In summary, when I go to Singapore next with my family, the Hilton Singapore Orchard will probably be my hotel of choice over the Conrad (5K more per night) but I preface this review that a 17 night stay in the same one king bedroom suite is unprecedented and provides my family a high standard for our next visit.

I have an excellent and memorable stay, the amenities are complete with monsoon showers and bathtub, bed is comfortable, room facing the busy orchard street, not as noisy as others claimed on the 13th floor. The duty manager Daisy is very helpful and attentive, what’s best is you can use your phone’s NFC to unlock the door! Register for ‘Hilton honors’ membership to get free WIFI. International breakfast is top notch, completing my gastronomical needs. Waiters are helpful and attention to detail. The pool is surrounded by walls and high rise but it was cool and I have a great swim with my little ones - one thing to note : there are no shower areas available, for hygienic purpose I think this is essential. If you're driving, parking is complimentary but do take note of the in/out timing which is valid throughout your stay. If you do not intend to drive in/out during your stay or you'd rather just park at the hotel throughout your stay, be prepared to get a gantry bill shock on your exit. The complimentary ticket was collected by the machine but it didn't allow me to exit (there were a few cars behind me) , fortunately the matter can be resolve through intercom. There's a need to improve the parking experience in this area. Also, you must try out the legendary chicken rice @ chatterbox in this hotel too, price is on the upper hand but worth the spend.

Hilton Orchard is the biggest Hilton hotel in Asia Pacific with over a thousand rooms.It opened only in February 2022 so not every taxi driver knows about it.This hotel used to be Mandarin Orchard so even my taxi driver"uncle" was confused and brought us to the old Hilton hotel.

My observations:
1. All hotel personnel are very efficient and fast. As soon as we alighted from our vehicle a doorman already picked up our luggages and gave as a stub .Our luggages were delivered to our door right after we checked in.
2. My son asked for a pair of razors and some ice cubes and they quickly responded to the request;
3. As Hilton Gold member we were given free breakfast for two.

Some Minor flaws:
1. There are so many lights in the room but location of the switches are quite confusing.Later we found out it was all at the headboard.
2. There are no wall plugs in the bathroom so you cant use the hair drier in the bathroom but outside.
3. I didn't see a room refrigerator although there was something like a vault but it was locked.

Came into a dimly lit arrival lobby. The elevators to level 5 reception seemed dark. I was told to take a photo of the QR codes for pool and fitness center during check-in. When asked if the QR codes were available in-room, staff said yes, but there was not. Booked connecting rooms with 1 king and 1 twin bedded configuration. I would say this is something families can appreciate as Hilton offers guaranteed connecting rooms at the time of booking. From the reception, there seems to be no clear directional signs leading to respective towers. My rooms were at the Mandarin Wing and the wall labeling specific floor access were not correct and ended up taking the wrong elevator. When I eventually take the correct elevator but the elevator state Orchard Wing (confusing much). Rooms at Mandarin Wing has direct access to Mandarin Gallery. But not all elevators are the same and it can get quite crowded waiting for the elevators at Mandarin Gallery. Rooms were newly renovated, open concept wardrobe behind the TV. Read prior reviews that bathroom amenities (i.e., toothbrush/toothpaste) were only available upon request, and had emailed in before my arrival, and it was already there. There was only a pair of rinse cups in 1 of the bathrooms, similarly, the minibar items were only stocked up in 1 room. Not sure if this is the arrangement for all connecting room bookings. All the room fittings and furnishings are new, with slow closing drawers and doors. It is just a shame that the TV does not have AirPlay or Chromecast, and access to the HDMI port is near impossible. The TV in one of the rooms seem to flicker a lot. The menu items on the TV does not seem to be working. Access to the swimming pool is via the concierge with successful Chope booking. The slice of complimentary birthday cake is probably the smallest complimentary cake I have ever received. Staff came up twice to deliver the slice of cake, and when asked why she had to send again, she said her manager instructed her to do so. Thus, I received 2 slices of cake. I was only recognized for my status at check-in, there were no welcome amenity nor letter unlike what I have experienced in other Hilton properties. Dubbed the largest flagship Hilton property in Asia Pacific, but it is still lacking in ways one would expect from a Hilton brand.

I am a Diamond Hilton Honor member, Titanium Elite Marriott, Ascott Platinum member, Shangrila member, GHA Discovery member.

But to be honest, being a Hilton Diamond member at the Hilton Orchard hotel seems meaningless. On the day I checked in, I saw that there were still many one bedroom suites (56sqm) available on the website. But they are not willing to give Hilton Diamond members an upgrade to a suite. After complaining to the mobile chat section, they also gave unsatisfactory and unfriendly answers.

After persistently complaining to some of their staff, I was finally given an upgrade to a Corner type room which they called a corner suite. But when I entered the room, the feeling of disappointment was getting bigger, it turned out that the suite title for this room I thought was just a "lie". Seen on the floor room map, the size of the room layout is almost the same as the standard room. There is no separate living room like it deserves a title for other 5-star hotel suites. What is the size of a suite in a 5 star hotel like that? It's very tiring, my time is running out to complain asking for my rights as a Diamond Hilton member. But they don't care. Amenities in the rooms are incomplete and it seems they are stingy in providing amenities to their guests. The view in the room is also blocked by the large building on the side. Not attractive view on my room.

Being a diamond member at Hilton is not appreciated at all. At breakfast time, the welcoming staff at the front was not friendly. The restaurant waiter here, who seems to be elderly, is not friendly to guests, I asked for tea and coffee, but instead he passed my request to another waiter. There is no special treatment as a Diamond member at Hilton Orchard Singapore.

The food served at the Hilton Orchard Executive Lounge is unappealing and not tasty. Around 6.45 pm, I came to the lounge. But the food was running out and was not replenished. There are no cut fruit on the serving plate. Their hakau dim sum is also tough and not tasty, the dim sum skin is too thick. The only good thing is their friendly staff in the Executive Lounge. Thanks to Jack and Hannah.

Does Hilton Honors management ignore Hilton Orchard Singapore's terrible treatment of their Diamond members? This makes me disappointed after struggling to become a Diamond member, unlike membership at the Marriott Bonvoy Group Hotel, Marriott really appreciates their loyal Elite Members. I hope that the Hilton Orchard Hotel will immediately improve for their service to be even better in the future, especially for Diamond members. You only care about big profits and are stingy with loyal guests, so be ready to be left by your loyal guests.

Hilton Orchard - newly renovated
It’s only opened for five weeks, we stayed here for two weeks. Overall, it’s superb. Great location, breakfast choice is great, Nasi Lemak and prawn noodle are very good. In the two weeks, I tried almost every items in the breakfast hall. These two are must tried. Prawn dumplings are better than average Singapore dim sum restaurant. I like the freshly squeezed juice station, not a lot of hotel offer this.
Executive lounge is good, food choice is reasonable with ok Red and white wine.
Room deco is good with enough space to put your clothes. Amenities is Acca Kappa.
Service is excellent, everybody tries their best to help you.
The mandarin gallery downstairs is excellent with lots of hair Salons to choose from and good wine store (oak wine).
The Legendary chatter box chicken rice is keeping their standard, another good choice would be their lobster laksa.
You cannot beat the location of this hotel.
Wifi is also good in every corner.
The improvement part:
Room size is small for two people if you both need to work from the hotel.
The electric station at the desk is not working most of the time. The motion censor is also not working all the time. Note that it’s a new hotel, I believe they will improve afterwards.
Given that Singapore rains a lot, they should stock enough umbrella to be borrowed by guests.
Coffee can be improved but this seems to be a common problem in most hotel.
Hilton Toilet flush has adopted a new way to clean more area with less aggressive force but I do not like the button as it’s not easy to ensure you get the largest flush.
The gym is new and equipment is enough for the workout. However, they do not have yoga mat, you need to order one to use in the room. I think they will improve this as it is an easy fix.
In general, i enjoy my stay a lot, will
recommend it but you may like to book a family room if you need to work in the hotel Mody if the time.

The dining options are very good and the location is convenient. The rooms are nicely and quite thoughtfully decorated. Housekeeping is clean and efficient. However they have a strange rule that they don't post anywhere on the website - which is that apparently you are not allowed more than two bottles of hotel-provided water in the room. Should you ever need more you are first required to show and return the empty bottles. As Singapore is hot and drinking water is necessary, I would suggest that anyone staying at this hotel to purchase their own water as the hotel is reluctant to provide.

This new style of Buffet Lunch, where you choose the food but chefs/staff prepare & serve it to you is so much better and more hygienic! The array of choices is fantastic. The quality of the food was excellent. Loved the Chinese Herbal Soup, Mini Dim Sums, Sesame Chicken. Really great Western/Indian choices also. The staff are lovely. Remember, hospitality all over the world is suffering from lack of staff so be kind and patient towards the team as some are elderly but when you chat to them they are so lovely and helpful.

After 3 years of being away from Asia, it was a worthwhile experience returning to the Hilton. I was slightly concerned when I realized that it was a brand new property altogether because the old Hilton always treated me well not only as a DIA member but as a frequent guest. The service was impeccable altogether. Clare Chang emailed me as she has before my arrival and Hannah alongside other new front office representative were truly marvelous, courteous and hospitable.

The room consisted of everything one needs to be comfortably situated during a stay. The specificity of the layout is amenable for business traveler, the chaise lounge with a view and all the various compartments as well as the sleekness is impeccable.

The Lounge is very welcoming and has ample space for guests. The evening hors d'oeuvres is quite filling, but once again the service is phenomenal. The representatives call you by your name and were always attentive.

The breakfast is out of this world. Four rooms that offer various culinary feat from western, Indian, Malay and Chinese. An additional juice bar down the ramp. It will keep you full until supper.

Had a short 1 night staycation with my family over the weekend.
Overall good experience, check in was efficient and prompt (thanks to Lee San). The rooms were good/clean and well maintained. We stayed on the 12th floor, where we can view the Orchard Road Christmas decor. The room is in excellent condition and it comes with Nespreso machine. The TV have a lot of channels available. If it has TVB channel, it will be a bonus. Toilet comes with both bath tub and standing shower. Toiletries wise, the shampoo, shower gel, hand soap, etc are by Crabtree & Evelyn. They are all fixed on the wall inside the standing shower area and sink area (i.e. you cannot take the bottles anywhere). There were no bath gel available at the bath tub area, so bring your own bath solution if you want to use the bath tub. Facilities wise, the gym is well equipped. Machines, weights and even a step/stair machine. There is only 1 swimming pool (no kids pool) but the depth of the pool is 1.2m, which was sufficient for my kids. The pool is sufficient if you just want to do laps or soak in the water.
The buffet breakfast at Estate (Level 5) was great, from International to Asian spreads, you can even get fresh juices from the juice bar. Quality of the food is perfect. Overall good experience for the 1 night stay. Well done Hilton Orchard.
