The Fairmont Hotel Singapore is located above City Hall MRT Subway Station so very easy to get too and a great location for the downtown area of the city
Our room was on the 15th floor with wonderful views of Marina Bay area
Bedrooms are very comfortable with really good mattresses on the bed, tea and coffee facilities provided along with good quality toiletries in the bathroom along with a large bath, a walk in shower and wet room.
Free WiFi and hardwired connections if preferred in all rooms, big home office desk, a comfortable settee, large screen smart tv and power points near the bed for those of you who like to keep the mobile phone close to hand. There is also a good quality safe in the wardrobe.
Breakfast was of high quality food, plentiful and varied choice of cuisine - Asian, Indian, Western and Japanese. The chefs will cook your eggs/ omelette to order, I particularly liked the honey on the comb, very tasty!
We have stayed in this hotel a number of time and will continue to do so in the future
We stayed here twice in October and really like the location. It is close to most places we wanted to go. For our first stay, we got the newer room in north tower but without MBS side of view. The room was spacious and modern. The second stay, we got the south tower and had a nice view of the MBS but the room here was slightly older especially the bathroom. Both rooms were comfy. The hotel had a big kids pool and a pool for lap swim. It also has a tennis court. My daughter had fun at the swimming pool here and she was happy to get a birthday cake from the hotel.
The only improvement I would write here is the reception staff did not seem to know the Accor membership benefits well. In both stay, I had to ask for the complimentary drinks vouchers. It was actually already prepared in an envelope for our check-in but in both occasions, the staff did not give it to us until I asked. We were supposed to get complimentary upgrade upon "availability" but in both occasions, we were asked to pay for extra even though next tier room was available. I got an upgrade only during the second check-in when I voiced my dissatisfaction that comparing to Marriott, I usually got complimentary upgrade without even asking. The other staff was able to act quickly and at the end I was happy staying here but I really dislike situation where you have to explain the membership benefits to the hotel staff as they should know better. To end the review, the cocktails made in the lobby bar were very good.
We absolutely love this hotel, our 2nd time here and will be the only place we will stay when we return. Staff amazing and helpful you tell they all love their jobs nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is out of this world so much to choose from looking forward to coming back.
I was very disappointed, the room was ok, but no usb charging ports. More importantly, there was no executive lounge so I could not arrange client meetings during my stay. The breakfast restaurant had all the charisma and noise of a Beijing bus station with matching food optionsAt this price point the Sofitel City Centre is far better value
