Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After many weeks of rustic hostals it was a breath of fresh air to find Hotel Seminario, in Calle Seminario, Puerto Montt. It's about a ten minute walk from the centre, and there's a bit of a climb to get there, but it was worth the puffing and panting.

The hotel is very light, modern, pretty well built and has a really nice dining room/ guest lounge area with good views across the hills and houses at the back of town. Our room was very spacious with huge windows, flat screen TV,good hanging space, a desk and chair etc. The bathroom was almost as big. Breakfast was a cut above many with omelette made to order fresh fruit, home made cake etc.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, some speak very good English.

Overall, it was good value for money and highly recommended if you don't mind a walk to the centre.

Room Tip: Room 201 was great, but others looked pretty good too.

I fell into soft linens and watched some good ol' HBO. Every thing works, and is stylish as well. Believe me after a few weeks of moldy bathrooms and crummy mattresses, this place was great. Plus the front desk staff was helpful and remembered me when I emailed them again in 2 weeks.
My room was facing a fairly busy street and I was worried that the noise would keep me awake, but I slept well! And I am a very light sleeper.

We stayed here for one night en route to Bariloche from Santiago. The hotel is very small as it is family-owned but this was only an added plus as the lady at the front may have been the nicest we have encountered in South America thus far. Her english was very good which allowed for her to give us a recommendation for dinner around town (El Apa in Angelmo was superb). The hotel has a hot tub which is very clean and great for viewing starts. The rooms are immaculately clean with a comfortable bed. The only drawback is that the hotel is located a slight walk from the city center (10-15minutes and with a fairly steep incline) but worth it for the seclusion.

Despite the big hill where the hotel is located, is not so far from the Puerto Montt downtown. There you´ll find a very pleasant and clean hotel. It´s not so big, it´s like a family house. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Strongly recommended!

Very good: Look at the back of the individual tablecloth (at breakfast) for things to do in the city.
Good: The hotel is clean, walking distance from the downtown, and the bed was big enough to sleep with my 3 years old child.
Medium: The breakfast
Bad: The heaters are controlled by the hotel.

The place was very difficult to find. The receptionist off hand and made us feel uncomfortable about parking. The whole place was grubby looking mainly the very badly stained carpet Dogs across the road barked all night so the early breakfast 7 was welcome so we could leave. Very expensive for what it is. It is not hotel or hostel The walls so thin you can hear next door going to the toilet There is holiday inn express on the front stay there

This was a good find. Clean spacious room with a good view of the city to the north. Nice people running it and a nice breakfast. All in all, a really good value.

They overcharged me, promised they had refunded the amount (nearly 10x more) and then proceeded to charge me the actual amount. I have tried in vain to actually get the refund from the manager for over a month now so far just empty promises and now no responses at all. The incompetent clerk that checked us in also initially showed us the wrong room and gave us the wrong key to the room so that we couldn’t lock the door. We were so tired after the late check in and the fiasco with the overcharge we didn’t make a fuss. The hotel shows its age and it is far from the bus terminal; I do not know why this place has so many good reviews. Beware of this dishonest establishment!

I stayed for 3 nights. Small room but clean and comfortable, private bathroom, tiny if you are tall. Good buffet breakfast. Good location (if you don’t mind walking up the hill a little bit), walking distance from downtown All receptionists very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Upon arrival to this non-pretentious hotel, we were greeted by Ximena, a very warm and polite receptionist. Not only she offered us a complimentary upgrade given that the occupancy was low, but she was waiting us with another surprise... when entering the room noticed that the heater was on. It was really a “warm” welcome on a very cold evening. Nice, clean, warm, well equipped. They even offered us an early breakfast considering we had a super early bus towards Chaitén. The attention to details really made me feel welcomed and wanting to come back on my next trip to Puerto Montt. Kudos to Ximena and Ricardo.
