My husband and I booked this hotel after reading the reviews here on TripAdvisor. We prefer to stay in privately owned hotel, smaller boutique hotels as opposed to large chains. Our room was at the front of the hotel and very noisy. Barking dogs, alarms going off next door at all hours of the day and night. The room had...

This very warm and welcoming family business is ideal for the budget traveler, with a group, or family. It's cozy and pretty well located. The neighborhood is quite and right next to a museum and artisan market. Not a lot of restaurants in the area, though. Each room has character, breakfast is freshly made, and the proprietors are delightful. They...

Somebody said it's the best hotel in Quito. It is far more memorable than a mega-chain hotel. The folks running the place seem to have been around & doing this for a couple decades. It's more the feel of a B & B than a hotel. Personal, warm, historic, ....almost a place that feels like you're visiting your grandparents. Quiet!...

Stayed here on the recommendation of a friend who said it was his favorite hotel in Quito. I can see why. It's quaint as quaint gets, with well appointed rooms and a couple of very comfortable lounge areas downstairs. Good breakfast. The family that runs the place also lives there. Three generations. Do it. Also a feat value. I got...

If you want to avoid the big US chain hotels, Los Alpes is for you. It is charming and the proprietors are extremely helpful. The rooms are not fancy, but they had everything we needed. Our only complaint was that we found it hard to find our way to the hotel and often got lost. Of course, that has nothing...

Been staying at this hotel for many years. It is in a good location and the personnel are more than accommodating. They will get you taxies' for long or short trips. Breakfast is fantastic, eggs anyway. Aging some but it has charm, especially if the fireplace is going.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The hotel is old and in dire need of a refurbishment. However, the rooms were warm and comfortable and the breakfast was good. Good wifi in the lobby but was not working in our room. Location is OK but not great as it is neither in the old town nor in Gringolandia. The...

Our trip was in June. The bed was very comfortable but since it is winter in Ecuador and the rooms don't have heat, the room stayed cold. The owner was very nice and took our order for breakfast. The breakfast was not the usual continental but were real eggs, great coffee, toast and fresh squeezed juice. The service was awesome....

This was our second visit to the hotel. Loved it so much the first time we were very excited to return. The staff were amazing and remembered my husband and I . This is a family run, traditional hotel and we certainly now feel part of the family. The rooms are lovely, all individual in decor and atmosphere. Very clean and...

A great place where you can feel safe, at home and feel very comfortable. The fireplace in the lobby is absolutely amazing and the service, simply great. They made me feel at home and it became my "home" while in Quito.
