We checked in on April 12th and left the following day (something we were very sad about). We stayed on the second floor and arrived about a half an hour before afternoon tea was served. It was so nice to be able to sit in the beautiful common lounge and have refreshments while admiring the lovely artwork and furnishings. Dinner...

It really does have the wow factor. The rooms and communal areas are superbly furnished. Our room was huge and beautifully furnished. There were roses in our room and petals scattered in the bathroom. Our room had a verandah opening out onto the pretty gardens. The restaurant only caters for in house guests. Meals need to be ordered by 6 pm....

We wearily arrived at about 8:00 in the morning and were delighted when the concierge/manager man gave us a big room, with high ceilings with gold molding on it. It was more than adequate, but I coveted other residents' rooms, which were big enough for a dance floor. The gardens are small, but nice and the antiques in the hotel...
