I stay in the loft area (3 rooms) which has a good view of the surrounding mountains. This family-run hotel (more of a B&B) offers breakfast as part of the room price and the staff are always friendly - in fact I was told when I enquired about being able to stay next year "of course - just email us,...

I stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom. The price was fine: $14. The hostel is clean and the staff is very helpful. The full breakfast was a good way to start the day. Casa Kanela's location is perfect! Very close to Plaza Foch (less than 5 minutes walking) but located on a quiet side street...ideal for resting...

If you're looking for a low key, comfortable, safe place to stay in the city near the night life and shopping this is a perfect location. I stayed on the top floor. Everything you need shower bathroom sink and a nice big bed.

Stayed here at the start of my Ecuadorian travels. I had the room on the top floor. If you're tall like me, you'll need to watch your head at times. Rooms were basic but comfortable and clean. I slept very well. Location is quite quiet but close to all the nightlife. Breakfast was simple but good. I would stay here...

We stayed here for 4 nights before going to Galapogos and came back before heading to Cuba. The rooms are clean, good/hot shower and comfortable beds. The owners were great. Excellent English and they could not have been more helpful! It is close to the busy plaza Foch however it is still really quiet.

I had a very pleasant stay here. The building is old and could do with renovation, but the room and bathroom were clean. The breakfast is excellent and the staff were particularly helpful. The owner is downstairs 24/7 and buzzes you in. I felt very safe here as a solo female traveller. While there's no official tour desk here they...

The rooms were small, beds were not that comfortable, but staff were amazing. They gave us the name of an English speaking tour guide which was the most incredible tour guide ever (Lennie). Nice and close to old town, where we could grab a bus/taxi and do some major touring. Breakfast was eggs, fruit, toast, jam, coffee/tea. Not the best...

This place is in the heart of La Mariscal--the multi-cultural bar, restaurant, club mecca. However, it is off on a side street so nice and quiet for sleeping. The room was clean, hot water HOT, and the overall house is beautiful. We came in at late hours and there was always someone at the door to let us in. Also,...

One of the poorest hostels we stayed in during our six months travel. Staff was unhelpful and the man working gave us the feeling we were disrupting him in his own house. Next to that they wanted to charge us for lukewarm microwave heated tea. Showers were ok, beds not that comfortable. Only pros are cleanliness, location (but sufficient alternatives...

“if good rest if what you are looking for, ask for the rooms in the inner part of the hostel, probably the attic one would be the best. The street in front of the hostel is the prettiest and one of the most quiet ones in the Mariscal zone, but still, if your room's got no window to the street, yor stay will be even more pleasant.”
