I stayed at Ariquipay Backpackers for 2 nights in between my Colca Canyon Tour and had a good time there. The staff is incredible, always super helpful, the breakfast was simple but very good (boiled eggs with bread, butter and jam) and the rooms/bathrooms were clean. 100% recommended

I stayed at Arequipay for three night while I was exploring Arequipa. The facilities were clean, the beds were comfortable (with nice privacy curtains) and the staff was friendly. The rooftop and backyard are nice spaces in which to relax and the location is very close to the city center (within short walking distance). The hostel is a good choice if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing place.

Booked here direct with the hostel- and they were very prompt in all their communications. However, the hostel itself was dark and dingy. We booked a private room and didn't sleep a wink at all because of the bed set up they had going on- a plastic sheet and then thick blankets underneath- so everything bunched up underneath you and the plastic sheet rattled. Breakfast was depressing. Colours were depressing of the hostel- there was no natural light. I really don't understand the high ratings of this hostel. We booked for two days, left after one.

Stayed here in August 2019. The staff were really kind, welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the room downstairs which was a bit cramped for room, only the bottom beds had curtains and the power outlet wasn't close to our beds but had lockers which helped with space. Outside there were plenty of nice places to chill out, hammocks, sofas, tables and chairs plus there was table tennis. Inside there is a kitchen upstairs with enough fridge space and the area next to it which had one big table which is good for encouraging social interactions. Downstairs there's a common room with a big tv with netflix which was good for chilling. The hostel is clean enough, no complaints there. The location was quite good, only 5-10 minute walk to the main square. Overall quite a relaxing hostel if that is what you are after.

We spend 4 nights in this hostel an had a wonderful time. The hostel is really cute and cozy and it is really easy to make friends or have a nice chat, while spending time in the kitchen or the outdoorarea. Moreover the staff is really helpful and welcoming. The only things we didnt like was the superbasic breakfast, but thats how it is in most of the hostels. We would definitly recommend everyone to stay there while spending time in Arequipa! :)
