Briefly, I can say that during my stay in this hotel, all the services were prety good: the room was clean all time, the beds were comfortable and I would like to remark the good attetion I received from the administrator (Rosa Luz), she was really kind, because she helped us a lot to get the tours and provide the... Nice spot a 5 min walk away from main central city area. Means it's a lot closer. Family run and the staff are fantastic, so nice a friendly. Breakfast is simple but good, pay extra and you can get eggs etc. rooms are good, basic but warm beds, TV good bathrooms. Wish the towels were a bit bigger! Very easy... More

I got my iPhone stolen (lost it in a taxi but then they wouldn´t give it back) So I offered to pay the taxi driver a reward (sad but seems to be the only way to get things moving sometimes) to bring it back to where I was staying (Posada del Abuelo). The lady there was SO NICE, she even... More

Situated a short walk away ( 15 minutes) from the main town. Not a nice vibe here at all, staff who I believe were the owners were not very friendly or welcoming, rooms were basic & dark, shower not always hot. Breakfast was not worth getting out of bed for! Stale bread & unappealing cereal was on offer with a... More

I stayed at this place for over a week, and can only say the best about it. The owner is the sweetest woman ever, and she goes out of her way to accommodate your every need. We were met with a cup of hot special Peruvian tea that helps you with altitude. The place is really clean, it has a... More

I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group for 3 nights unfortunately. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the main square, the staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. Showers were often cold as were the rooms. The rooms are not heated - you have to pay extra for a heater if you want it! Breakfast... More

We stayed here as part of a tour, before and after the Inca Trail trek. The trek was awesome and as you can imagine we were dreaming of hot showers for most of it. How disappointing then after 4 days to come back to a cold (not even warm) shower. We asked at reception numerous times for this to be... More

Sadly we didn't have the good experience of other recent reviewers. We stayed here before and after our inka trail trek and could not recommend. Our first room was a very dark twin room with no light. The next day we changed to a seemingly better room, which then had loud building work over head. We returned (having pre-paid) after... More

Our stay at La Posada Del Abuelo was filled with great service from the owner Rosaluz and accompanying staff. Anything that we needed she was able to accommodate quickly and efficiently. The facilities are not extremely luxurious, but they provide you with what you need-- spacious rooms, cleanliness, attentive staff and local expertise. Although the Abuelo is not centrally located,... More
