Stayed in Cusco prior to going onto Machu Picchu, on our return ended up staying at the same hostel! Lovely comfy beds, very clean and welcoming, staff were so lovely, especially the young woman who served us breakfast every morning, (best breakfast ever!). Wonderful central location, can be a bit noisy at times as there is always something going on... More

WOW, I highly recommend Hostal El Peregrino if you are staying in Cusco! The hostal is located directly off the main square and the rooms are excellent. We arrived after a night of flying, and they kindly allowed us to use a room at 6am so we could sleep even though check-in time was at 10am. The staff recommended great... More

This hostel was booked by my son's Peruvian girlfriend, who has stayed there several times. Our welcome was friendly and for the price of US$50 per night, we didn't have huge expectations on facilities. The room we were given (room 4) was dominated by two 3/4 beds pushed together, leaving very little floor space. There was an ensuite bathroom with... More

This hotel couldn't be closer to the main square so it was extremely convenient. Of course, the price you pay for that is the noise. The loud music and shouting went on until the small hours and started again around 5:30. The late night noise didn't actually bother me - I sleep through most things - but if you're a... More

If you can sleep through noise then this is the place for you. Really nice room and very pleasant staff. Wifi was excellent in the room. Breakfast is good with a little more to offer that the usual. Very clean and tidy and all round very good for the money. Location is great as it is right on the main... More

South America can be very loud. Many hotels are noisy all night. This hotel is quiet. Very quiet as long as you don't book rooms 4,5 or 6. Those rooms are next to the lobby/dining area and you will hear noise. We stayed in rooms 8 and 9 and didn't hear a peep. Out of 10 Price 10 Beds 9... More

We stayed here with two per room , this is right in the centre square so noise comes with the territory, but our hostess could not been more welcoming , from changing our big bills to making sure we were on time for our tours , She had people escort us to our bus tours and lined up rides to... Have been staying here for years. Its clean , its friendly and right on the Plaza de Armas. The beds are comfortable and very warm.Alas the room on the street suffers from noisy locals who congregate about 4am and make sleeping impossible.Breakfast is simple but enjoyable.

My wife and I stayed here for almost a week and can't recommend it highly enough. It's perfectly located, right on the Plaza de Armas. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast is substantial, the staff are friendly and the wifi is good. Great choice all round.

This is our second time staying in El Peregrino. We are beyond impressed with the level of service. We used this hostal as our "home base", while we traveled around the area. The manager, Maruja, not only helped us with all the logistics of our several trips, but she also personally met us at a bus station at 5 am,... More
