We had a lot of fun with Edy! He made the most refreshing drinks and told us a few secrets about why they were so good!
He has a great sense of humor and very experienced.
The hotel has a beautiful courtyard in the center which makes one feel like they are in a secluded Villa!

We (2 adults, 2 teenagers) spent 5 nights in a colonial family room. The room was quite large and effectively consisted of 2 bedrooms and a large bathroom. The beds were huge. There was a jacuzzi in the bathroom which was lovely after walking around archaeological sites all day.
Breakfast was included in the room rate and was excellent. We had dinner in the restaurant (Paprika) one evening, the food was good and reasonably priced, with local singers and dancers.
The location is excellent, in the heart of the old town. The hotel is a restored colonial mansion and is very beautiful.

The only negatives that we experienced were:
1. My husband booked a massage but the masseur did not turn up.
2. There was some rust in the drain and metal fittings in the shower.

If it were not for these 2 factors, I would give this hotel a 5.

Our team came to Peru to encourage Christian Pastors and Spouses in the Cusco/Urubamba area. Upon return to Cusco, my husband tested positive for Covid when we tested for travel purposes. The hotel staff and management have bent over backwards to accommodate us - immediately procuring two rooms (I tested negative), and setting us up for an extended stay. We speak very little Spanish, but that has not stopped every staff member from making sure our every need was met. We felt safe and exceptionally cared for. We ended up celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary here - the restaurant manager, Juan, made exceptions so we could actually dine together, properly distanced, of course. The chef custom made our pizzas, Juan paired a perfect bottle of wine, and surprised us with a chocolate torte! So beyond anything we could have even imagined. Every single staff person from management to those who cleaned the rooms were polite, kind, considerate and provided "above and beyond "service. The breakfast each day was almost as wonderful as the Peruvian coffee! We will have left a part of hearts at Casa del Sol, Cusco

This hotel is very conveniently located to the main town square and grabs your attention as soon as you walk in from the street , through the doors at the reception and into the magnificent courtyard.
The rooms are very nice and the whole hotel has that 17th Century feel with its furnishings, like the paintings along the hallways and the big heavy wooden doors to each guests room.
One downfall with these heavy doors was that when guests in other rooms went in and out of their rooms, it was very noisy, especially when they were leaving at all ours of the night.
Breakfast in their restaurant was nice, not a huge selection but some hot and cold options available. We didn’t have dinner there but at restaurants outside.
The staff were friendly, helpful and most could speak English quite well.
I would recommend a stay here if you’re looking for a hotel that’s a little bit different and central to the town.

The best feature of this hotel that used to be a Manor is its location. The proximity to the Plaza De Armas with its accompanying landmarks, shops, eateries and paraphernalia is superb.

Rooms are average sized (but to be fair, we had opted for a standard double) but felt claustrophobic. They provided an electric kettle with coco tea bags but no coffee.

Breakfast spread is decent and starts early enough for guests to embark on the trips to Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley and other locations.

Caution: do not take their laundry bags. They will otherwise want to charge you the equivalent of USD 10-12 for a bag that may not even cost 50 cents.

Overall rating: Satisfactory. Will come back if I don't find anything else convenient

There is some issue with hotel management. I booked two nights of the suite for a family of four. It should be a nice-sized room with a king size bed and two double beds in the separate areas based on the posted pictures on the hotel website. When I checked into the hotel, the hotel staff assigned a room with four double beds crumbled into a room that suppose to max three double beds. The two headboards are not even matched the three beds because that spaces suppose for two beds only. The space is so limited, that only one nightstand can be fitted next to the bed. I have to climb to the bed from the end of the bed because the it is next to the wall. I mention this issue when I saw the room for the first time when we checked in. However, the staff just simply said, it can fit our family of four, and pictures on their website might not match the room the customer actually gets. It is just a normal thing for them. At that moment, I just got to Cusco and was having a very bad headache due to altitude sickness. I don't want to argue and just want to lie down.

When I felt better later on, I can think straight about this room issue. I did book a suite, not this room. I even paid double the price of regular rooms for a better one. The features of the suite suppose to have a separate jet tub, bath robes, and many other things. They are not in this room I got. So, I went to the front desk the next morning to let them know about this problem. This time, the staff recognized they have made a mistake in that they assigned me to the wrong room! I had to repack everything and moved to a real suite. The new room looked exactly like the website's pictures and have all the features too. In the end, they didn't explain to me why they made this mistake in the first place. They didn't do anything to make up for their mistake too. It may just be a normal MISTAKE for them.

However, I didn't give it one star because the hotel itself is nice and centrally located.

This hotel is beautiful and the location is excellent. The rooms were very clean, and our bes was huge and very comfortable. Our receptionist when we checked in was so nice, I think Claudia was her name, she gave us our room as soon as it was ready, earlier than check-in time, and we were so appreciative because we took a red eye and were very tired. They also kept our bags while we did the Inca Trail. The breakfast buffet was excellent too. Cannot recommended it enough.

Let me start by saying the only saving grace at this hotel is the location.

The service is absolutely atrocious. The staff are rude and indifferent and you’re made to feel like an inconvenience. This was a shame as nearly everyone we encountered in Peru was warm and welcoming, but not reflective at this hotel.

I had to ask 3 different people on arrival where to find the rooms as no one told us on check in, however was dismissed and brushed each time. Finally someone took us to the room but expected a tip for doing so.

Wifi is appalling. Barely worked during our entire stay which is not acceptable for a hotel at this level.

2 of the 3 mornings we were awoken at between 6 and 6:30am by drilling and banging. This is apparently due to the much needed upgrades to the wifi, but not sure why they needed to start at 6am!? Completely unacceptable.

Painting is also being carried out in the hotel, with sanding right outside my door from about 7am onwards. They took up the whole hallway and we’re very loud.

Breakfast is average, but always cold. Time to replenish items took ages. Often 20-30 minutes without basics like eggs. There are a lot of staff but they don’t have any urgency.

Bed was rock hard and didn’t make for an enjoyable sleep.

I accept that renovations are required to maintain a hotel, but it should not be at the expense of customer comfort and rest. Things that can be controlled, like basic customer service skills, we’re also not up to scratch. I will not return to this hotel.

Dear Customer, I am very sorry to read your comment, our reason for being is the service and I am concerned that something is not right. In many of the comments we receive on different platforms, they comment on our good service, our staff and our customer service, for this reason, I am very surprised to see a comment like yours. I assure you that it will be shared with the area to see what happened, I'm sorry I don't have your name and room to do a better investigation. With reference to the noises of the last days, these do not correspond to our work, it is a pity that we are all affected by external works that were not notified in time. Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience, it will undoubtedly help us improve our services.

My wife and I had two stays at the Costa Del Sol Ramada--the first was the first two days after we arrived in Cusco for the first time, and the second was two days later after we returned from our trip to Machu Picchu. Each time the staff was very friendly, the hotel has a nice old-traditional refurbished mansion aesthetic. The rooms were clean, simple, comfortable with a nice bed and shower. Breakfast was delicious. The location is great. Staff were very accommodating providing us a boxed breakfast for the morning of our trip to Inca trail hike to Machu Picchu (we left at 4 a.m. before the breakfast service started) and kept our larger bags safe in storage in a private area for the duration of our trip until we returned.
