We selected Amaru I for our Cusco/Machu Picchu hiking adventure vacation. It is a beautiful hostal with terrific views. The staff was so helpful with all our needs and requests and I would recommend Amaru I to anyone. It was extremely clean with private bathrooms....More

was ok. decent, clean room-but very noisy--can hear everything above and outside the room. We never saw the bar open. -even on a sat. night.

Yes taxis stop at the front door although the lane is very narrow.The problem you may have is that although the hotel is pretty central it is half way up a fairly steep lane.The altitude is such is such that even fairly fit... More
