We felt that we are back in home in hotel Dorado. I definitely suggest Hotel Dorado for everyone who stays in Cusco, We will love to stay there again if we will go to Cusco in the future. Words can not describe the treatment in...More
What a little gem! We stayed here on two occasions in December, 2010 and January 2011. We had great complimentary 24/7 car service around the Cusco and a very comfortable stay. The staff was amazing and most helpful arranging everything we needed including our Machu...More
I was greatly impressed by this hotel. I traveled with my parents who are both over 70 years old and was really afraid that for the price paid I was not going to get the comfort, cleanliness and service they require at their age. But...More
You cannot go wrong with Torre Dorada if you are traveling to Cusco to sightsee and experience the culture there. These people will bend over backwards to help you out and make you feel welcome. The only downfall is there is not much to do...More
The hotel is owned by Miss Peggy (this is how her employees tenderly/respectfully call her), who is omnipresent and manages her hotel in an excellent way.

First of all you should allow at least 4 days for your visit. Many people come and they see Cusco and they would have liked to have more time. At least allow one day for Cusco, then you can take the next day a tour of the Sacred Valley this way you can see Pisac town and archeological site then you can Have lunch in Urubamba and end up your tour in Ollataytambo. Ollantaytambo is about 2 hours from Cusco, but if you visit Pisac as well you will be in Ollantaytambo around 3pm, you can stay in Ollantaytambo that evening or take the train to Aguas Calientes (M;achupicchu) the same day. You can also sleep in the town of Aguas Calientes and then get up real early and go to Machupicchu when there is not so many people. then in the afternoon get back to Cusco.
The cost for the tour to Ollantaytambo is around USD 25.00 Per person and this includes guide , bus and lunch. If you prefer to take a private taxi you can do that as well just be aware that you will not have a guide and lunch. The private opptiom is between 60 and 70 USD.
