This hotel is very impressive visually. The service was average from all staff and the check in process was quite slow. They asked if we wanted a room with a view, we assumed a view of the beautiful plaza but instead got a view of an ugly building over the road. Definitely ask for an inside room to avoid the...

Beautiful grand old Hotel, lost in a time warp. Great central location, clean, helpful staff and good WIFI. The bed was very hard. Breakfast was simple nice bread and coffee. Had a central room so was quiet. Shops, restaurants and banks near. 30 minutes from the airport. Excellent value.

We liked the Hotel for the History related to this building. The Hotel is really big, with long corridors and so many rooms. It has a particular charm. The personnal is correct. The doorman is really nice. The rooms are big, but they are not "uptodate". The principal goal for us was to know this historical Hotel, in a very...

Truly a Grande Dame ! and not so dowdy, either . I didn't find this hotel to be nearly as worn and frayed as some other reviews have said. I thought it had a charm that's hard to find anymore with all of the "McLuxury" around, and I think it would be a shame if they thought they had to...

Gran Hotel Bolivar is a charming hotel. Location is near central square. Has lots of good restaurants and shopping nearby. Facilities has seen better days, and is probably due for an overhaul renovation. Nevertheless, it is basic and clean. Staff are decent.

The Hotel Grand Bolivar was charming. While a bit frayed around the edges now, it's easy to see how glorious it must have been in the 30's. The staff was nice, the water was hot and the bar had some of the BEST pisco sours in Peru. The beds were a bit hard and small. It's also in a great...

I have been planning a trip to Peru and I was planning to stay at this hotel for the 1st night. I went to their webpage, filled the booking form, sent it and never heard back from them. One week later, I tried to contact them by email or by phone, there is absolutely no contact information on their website....

The Gran Bolivaar gets high marks for nostalgia. A beautiful grand entrance and welcoming staff. We stayed 2 nights here. A great location for walking El Centro, the historic district. We couldn't have picked a better location. The breakfast was wonderful. They served all the staples but you could ask for extras like a piece of ham or bacon. If...

This was one of the highlights of the trip for us! Our room was amazing - all original features from over 100 years ago! We had a large wardrobe, a comfortable parlour type seating area, a nice bedroom and big bathroom. The staff were very friendly, and the location was perfect. However, avoid the restaurant for lunch or dinner. We...
