The room was small but adequate, and the mattress was, according to Susanna, "the best you can buy in Peru," and did not disappoint. Unique view and sounds of the roaring river right outside your window. Breakfast was very good, with fresh-made omelette, fruit and pancakes. Susanna herself is such a nice hostess. Took Susanna's restaurant recommendation and ate at "Incontri" which also did not disappoint (see separate review). The rate was low and overall was a great value and we had a lovely stay. Only downside was a factory in the adjacent, connected building, which was noisy, but only during business hours, when we were not in the room anyway. Susanna has been struggling with them to deal with this issue but for us was not an issue. Also, you have to leave your room key at the front desk when you go out and knock to get into the building when you return, but there was always someone right there to open the door when we came back, even kind of late so it also wasn't an issue, and I suppose it makes for more security.

Response from Miranda S, Manager at Susanna Inn Machu Picchu Hotel
Responded 16 Feb 2020
Dear BradLB, many thanks for taking the time to let us a review! The bed is not the best in Perú but surely of high quality: as far as I am concerned my parents did a really good job when choosing quality instead of quantity, and everything that we offer in the rooms has quite a high cost. I am really glad you enjoyed our breakfast and our hospitality and my suggestions: I like my hosts to feel more welcomed with this extra help. The external door only open from inside and we suggest to leave the key door at the Front desk so it won't be lost and it won't be necessary to refund it, although it is not mandatory. I am glad you enjoyed your stay! Warmly, Susanna Miranda Hotel Manager

I have to say I was a little nervous that the inn is right next to the railroad track. But my worry was completely unfounded! When we arrived Willie greeted us with such a warm welcome. Our room was the cleanest I’ve probably ever experienced. There was plenty of space for our things. Willie gave us the best restaurant recommendations and he even walked us there! He spoke fantastic English and answered many of our questions. Such an easy going and fun person to talk with. The beds were perfect, not to hard and not to soft. The water flowing outside our window was a welcome sound and was so peaceful. We did not hear a single train! Breakfast was cooked to your liking and your time. When you arrive they ask you what time you would like breakfast which was a really nice touch. I was really impressed. Price was unbelievable ( in a great way) for what we received in accommodation and service! And the breakfast was included too! Give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed!

This hotel is located at the end of the “strip” in Aguas Calientes. Very quiet and clean. We selected a mountain view room and loved the view of the rushing river through our window (unique and great!!). Hotel staff very helpful. They prepared us a “breakfast to go” once we explained that we were leaving for Machu Picchu at 5am the next day. There were 2 brown bags filled with fruit, water, bars, buns and snacks ready for us at reception. This was greatly appreciated. Great service and stay!!

We were greeted by Sonia holding a sign with my name at the exit of the train station (see pic) which was a nice welcome to Machu Picchu Pueblo. We were then greeted warmly by Christina at the front desk and she escorted us to our room and showed us around. We were pleasantly surprised to see our bath towels arranged like swans kissing on the bed (see pic). Our single room was located along the mountainside with a window that opened out to the river. Willy was also very helpful and made us a warm and tasty breakfast before our bus trip to Machu Picchu. Overall we had a wonderful stay with wonderful staff at Susanna Inn.

This hotel has great service and a great place to rest. You get a great view of the mountains and river. Each floor has their own wifi connection and they make your breakfast made to order which is included. They also have cable tv in their rooms so I was able to catch NFL games while on vacation. Definitely recommend you stay here if going to Machu Pichu.

This hotel seems to have been newly renovated based on the superb condition of the hardwood floors. The breakfast was excellent and overlooked a river behind the hotel.
The only downside is the hotel is five stories and there is no elevator, so if you struggle with stairs, request a lower floor in advance.

Susanna’s inn is small and tucked away at the end of the road. However it is only 5 min walk to the bus stop, 3 min walk to the train station and easy walking distance to fine dining and nightlife.

The room was modest but clean and comfy. The hotel staff were very welcoming and spoke great English. Breakfast was delicious - they had lots of options and serve very early to accommodate going to Machu Picchu.

It is close to the train and you will hear the train late at night (10 or 11) and early in the morning (5am ish) but you’ll be hard pressed to find many places that you can’t hear the train at

The family that run this hotel are so kind and caring and they go out of their way to make sure that you are well taken care of. NOTE: they make these incredible plantain pancakes for breakfast that we have been craving non-stop ever since we checked out...definitely worth waking up for.

I stayed one evening at Aguas Calientes prior to visiting Machu Picchu, and I'm so glad chose Susanna Inn. They were kind enough to meet me directly at the train station and escort me to the hotel. The hotel is brand new, clean and with spacious rooms. They incorporated elevated touches, such as windows that drown out noise from the river and high quality mattresses you find at nice hotels. Additionally, breakfast was delicious (plantain pancakes -- yum!). Needless to say, this was the comfortable and restful stay I needed prior to a long day of exploring. Just note, this hotel is fairly new and only accepted cash only at the time of my stay.

Highly recommend Susanna Inn!

Great experience!! Small family hotel with nice clean rooms. We had a room with the best view - facing the mountain and river. It was spectacular experience. Very comfortable bed and pretty good free breakfast at the restaurant with amazing view. Friends staff who was able to help with any questions and gave us good suggestions with restaurants, attractions and activities im the area. Highly recommend!!
