We stayed here at the height of busy season in August. They are in the process of renovating the rooms which will make this an even better experience. We stayed in a renovated room and our children were in a non renovated one which was dated but clean and comfortable. The access to the ruins are unmatched and incredibly convenient....

There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this hotel. The situation is wonderful, the food is wonderful, the staff are lovely, the cold beers after a long walk are amazing! The gardens are beautiful and seeing hummingbirds was fantastic. If you go to Machpicchu make sure you stay here, you can go back in to the site after the crowds have gone...

A night here, no question, takes quite a financial plunge, but some friends had said we wouldn't regret the expense--and they were absolutely right! The Belmond Sanctuary Lodge sits just feet from the gate to Machu Picchu, and at the exact spot where the bus drops you off from Aguas Calientes. It gives you unparalleled access to the park, whether...

We ate our lunch here in between walking around Machu Picchu. Was a very nice break. I believe you must have reservations. We also took the Hiram Bingham train to Cusco and those who were taking that train were able to spend time in the Lobby to rest.

Our experience just wasn't that great and, for a Belmond Hotel, they could have been much more organised. We arranged with the Concierge for a late afternoon arrival, after the buses had stopped running, but on arrival we had to wait well over an hour for the transfer, and so we missed sunset up the mountain. To be fair, the...

For almost all of us, this is a real splurge. We really felt that it made the visit much nicer. It isn't completely clear, but the Belmond is located about 10 yards outside of the entrance to MP. Thus, when the site closes, you are already home and don't need to take the bus back down the hill. We took...

Amazing!! Ideal if you travel with family to see the ruins of Machu picchu. Literally 50 mts. From the entrance to Machu Picchu. It makes the trip very easy and comfortable for elderly people. The service is great and food & drinks options are very good considering its a hotel lost in the heights of Peruvian mountains. Totally worth the...

When you first arrive at the entrance, you are a bit overwhelmed but the simple number of tourists milling about! As if it's not enough to mention that it's a Belmond property, the Sanctuary has an extraordinary location at the gate to Machu Picchu. They have 31 coveted rooms, not at all opulent but each with superlative Belmond bedding and amenities. The restaurant, Tampu, is superb. The Sanctuary is an oasis of peace and serenity when all the hordes depart...

We stayed overnight at this hotel in a garden view room. The hotel staff were efficient and professional as you would expected of a 5 star hotel.
