Punta Carretas is perhaps the best neighborhood in Montevideo, safe and neat, close to the beach, park, shopping, and good restaurants. Perfectly located in Punta Carretas is the Bit Design Hotel, which truly lives up to the 'design' in its name. Beautiful reception, lovely rooms, everything in perfect order. Especially the receptionist on duty in the afternoon-evening was incredibly sweet and helpful. But everyone was friendly and smiling. Bit Design Hotel deserves our warmest recommendation.

Room was nice. Breakfast was good. Location just down from the mall. Near a number of restaurants including one across the street. Room was not cleaned till after 3! Last day I had to get the front desk involved. The young guy on the afternoon/evening shift was exceptional. Good sense of humour and very helpful. Enjoyed my stay and would recommend

This is a perfect place to stay per bussiness or a travelling couple. Nice aesthetics clean and confortable. Superior room has a perfect view of the river. A full buffet for breakfast gives a good start everyday. The terrace was close but the View from the room was far better. Only issue was the small parking garage, but was on courtesy so it was a plus

This hotel was very disappointing for me and my wife. Looking at the pictures and the previous reviews, I really thought we would stay in a great hotel, but the reality was different. We did the reservation for a standard room, the pictures don't show how small they are. The room that they gave us was on the 2nd floor, and the window was direct to a central air conditioning machine (I suppose it is). It's a big machine, terrible view, but also terrible noise. They turn it off at 6:30pm, and turn it on at 08:30am. If you want to sleep in it is impossible, or if you want to take a nap in the afternoon, impossible too. Besides that there is a door in the room, to the next room, it's obviously closed, but you can hear everything from your neighborhood. The bathroom is ok, towels are good and clean. But when you take a shower the floor gets all wet, even with the box close, it's probably some leak. We stayed for four nights, and in two of then the air conditioning was not working. We called the reception and the answer was that they would have to call a technician, to repair it. They fixed, but in the next day it was broken again. Fortunately the weather was not so cold, and it was possible to leave the window opened, but we we had to deal with the noise coming from outside. We asked to change for a better room as soon as we arrived. But the receptionist said the hotel was full, and that in the next day they would have a free room, in a superior category, but it was necessary to pay the difference to the upgrade. We said that we have the gold benefit from hoteis.com, and this update would be for free for us. As soon as we told about the benefit, they tell us that we need to wait for the next day and see if the room would be still available, but, of course, it wasn't free anymore. Although the location of the hotel is good, we definitely wouldn't like to stay there anymore.

To recommend. Great Location, next to Restaurants, Shopping Center, coffee Shops etc. 30 minutes from Airport, 15 minutes to Town Center. Clean. Friendly. Only the laundry is extremly expensive and not real in time. Breakfast could be improved. Stayed 5 days .. in a room with River View, amazing.

We booked a last-minute quick stay at the Bit Design Hotel while stopping through Uruguay and we were really pleased with our experience there. It's located just a short walk to the water and literally one block from Punta Carretas. The bed was really comfortable and the staff, especially Paula at the front desk, were really helpful. They arranged a rental car for us to cruise around Uruguay. I highly recommend!

This is an absolutely fantastic boutique hotel. Perfection location, stylish rooms and facilities, friendly, caring yet unobtrusive staff, and just generally a pleasant place to stay. It's really hard to find a fault here. If I want to be really picky, I would say that the breakfast could benefit from a bit variation. The first 2 days during my stay I really loved it, but then I was longing for some changes (specifically when it comes to hot items). But that should in no way be understood as criticism, rather than a suggestion for putting the icing on the cake, so to say, because generally the breakfast is pretty nice, too (and complementary). Montevideo is a lovely city and in case I'll return in the future, I'll certainly stay at this hotel again.

As you might see from my reviews i have traveled all over the world. This hotel rates very highly. It is very clean, very tidy, it has a nice feel and it is close to a very good mall (Punta Carretas) and it is close to Rambla Ghandi. The rooms quality is up there with the best i have been in other parts of the world, including 5 star hotels in Thailand. They get cleaned every day and you can request cleaning at your convenience. The daily buffet breakfast is very good and it has a good variety from cereals to baked eggs. You name it.the Chefs are typical uruguayos (pronounced Uruguashos). I should give special mention to receptionist Victoria, who kindly helped me resolve an issue with a tour booking to Colonia. To cut a long story short, she helped me contact the tour organizers to get a proper resolution and to make sure they wouldnt charge me money for the wrong service. I should say all and everyone of the staff treated me with respect and i was made to fell welcome. I can only say positive things about this hotel and its staff, I give them 10/10.

We loved almost everything about it except for the noise the building makes when the sunlight hits. It kept us awake in the morning, especially the first one when we tried to relax a bit longer. The rest was great, the bed comfy, the breakfast very complete, the hotel super close to the rambla as well as everything else.

The Bit Design Hotel in Montevideo is a true gem: it is fresh, unpretentious, under-promises, and over-delivers. Staying there feels like biting into a particularly crisp green apple on a sunny autumn day, beautifully tart and with a satisfyingly loud crunch. I came here after a fitful night at another hotel two blocks away (Calla di Volpe, to be avoided at all costs; see my review there). The contrast was striking. The hotel is small, tidy, and clean. Lots of glass and concrete, in a way that somehow still manages to feel welcoming and soft. The room has blue and gray tones, with a comfortable desk and armchair, a USB port *and* power socket right near the bed (how often does a hotel actually have the foresight to do this?) The service is polite and reliable, and the front desk staff and a treat. A few slight downsides: the breakfast is good and plentiful, but it's not about to win any Michelin stars (then again, it's free). The showers sometimes leak slightly onto the bathroom floors. The desk chairs in the room are a little uncomfortable. But otherwise, top notch. Would come back here any time; a lovely stay.
