We only stayed one night after flying late from Paris and it was a very nice choice, the reception is open 24/7 and the rooms are very clean. We had to leave early so we didn't have breakfast there but they gave us a breakfast to go which was really nice. The personal is very nice (we forgot something and they sent it to our next location).

This was a big positive surprise!
I went there for a week with my five pals and everybody shared that experience.
The people working there were very service minded and friendly at all times during the stay.
The breakfasts were seved with warmth and smiles, and we allways felt that we were most welcome.
The host even made some nice efforts to show us documentaries of Albania's recent history.
The rooms were huge, nice and well managed. We all recommend this hotel to you all.

We had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for two nights in July this year. The room was nice and clean (bathrom in particular was impeccable), the breakfast delicious and the whole staff very hospitable, capable and helpfull in every respect. All the staff members we were in touch with spoke execellent english, and some om them were impressively knowledgable and insightful of their country's past and present, and also with the goings on in Tirana, Thank you very much - you really made our days in Tirana:)

The location of the hotel is great and the guy at the reception is very helpful but we luckily only stayed for one night. The surroundings were super loud so you could hear everything into the room. There was no amenities and the bed was super hard and there was no duvet just a paper thin sheet so it was the worst sleep of my life. We wanted to leave our bags for the day and we literally just had to leave them in the middle of the reception floor for anyone to take 🤔 The breakfast was two eggs, two bananas, some bread and butter, not like the pictures! The wifi was barely working

Hotel booked nine months ago, only to be cancelled for with no explanation as to why. Rooms then available for an increased price on bookings.com.
Some skullduggery going on here, would avoid at all cost.

Response from Theranda, General Manager at Theranda Hotel
Responded 19 Nov 2018
Dear Destination "unknown", your review should not even be here as it is false. It is false because not only were you given an explanation but also alternative accommodation of the same level and in the same area, without asking for a dime more. In fact it was costing us more to put you up in the other hotel offered. This communication between us is in writing, which clearly proves your statements is false. In fact is in breach TA's reviews terms section a) which states false information should not be published. In any case, as we explained to you in writing, we were notified by technicians a few weeks before your arrival that a few rooms need to have technical work done to them to function properly, hence we would not be able to offer accommodation on your requested dates as one of the rooms was the one assigned to you. This notification was given 3 weeks before the check in date, therefore a very reasonable time to re-book somewhere else. However understanding that this may pose a problem, and driven by our customer service orientation, we apologized and offered to put you up in a same level or better, hotel nearby, hence same location, without you paying a dime more. You not only did not respond to our offer, but instead decided for some reason to take vengeance in the shape of this very unfair review. Also booking.com where you made the booking does not allow a hotel to cancel a reservation and than sell the same dates and rooms for a higher price. If you had contacted their customer service we as a hotel would be penalized, but this did not happen as we did not do that. It seems to us that you may have been after a freebie and given the fact that you were not offered one, you went on a rampage with this review. I am afraid your review is skulduggery not our behavior and actions. The proud Management of Theranda Hotel!

This hotel gets mixed reviews from us.

We were travelling the Balkans and wanted to stay in a nice yet not so expensive hotel in Tirana. Since we were travelling all night from Macedonia, we wanted to check in early in the morning and the hotel management was quite accommodating in that respect. However, the room they gave us upon arrival was in an adjacent building that had not been heated for the night, which meant the room and for some reason the water was extremely cold. We were told to wait till the water got warmer but that never happened and we requested to move to another room after 45 minutes of waiting. We got the impression that the staff would not have proposed to move us to another room himself if we had not asked for it.

Other than that, the second room we got was spacious, with two twin beds and basic amenities. The bathroom was still extremely cold but we were happy to have hot water. However, for the next two days, the staff at the reception did not exactly make us feel welcome, partly, we felt, due to the issue with the room change.

Overall, we believe that this hotel charges a bit too much for the service it offers. Actually, hot water and heat should not be a problem even in the cheapest hotels and less so in a hotel that charges its guests around 80-90 Euros per room per night. The fact that in much colder Macedonia heat was not an issue at all makes us urge the management of Theranda to take care of this problem.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking your time to write a review, I am glad that you found our hotel very accommodating on your early morning check in. I also appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the heat and hot water issue. We are sad to hear about your experience with the room not being heated prior to your early arrival. We strive to ensure all guests have an exemplary stay and we are sorry you didn`t feel that, during your stay with us. The heating and hot water issue appears to have been an isolated issue, so you can look forward to full blasting hot water showering on your future visits. We always welcome constructive feedback as it is a powerful tool that enables us to clearly identify where improvements may be needed and I have passed on your comments to all relevant staff. We will take your comments in consideration to ensure we always deliver the best service, whilst still providing a comfortable stay. I do hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back again to Theranda Hotel. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly and I will be pleased to take care of the arrangements for you. Kind regards, Martin Gjonaj General Manager

the hotel presentation on the arrival is not one of the more promising..hidden on a back jumble street., the building is appalling and with a unkempt facade
Inside is a miscellanous of beige and scruffy..
the people are very kind, gentle and smiling and working for ease you but you can't cope with the sense of desolation growing inside you..
Theranda is clean even if , against their policy, someone smoke inside the building leaving a some stale air
the hotel is silent a part for the noises you can hear from other rooms and do to their relaxed approach to "room visitors" , well, the noise could be waking you up in the night..there's better option in Tirana

Dear Guest, We really appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge the quality of our service and our kind and friendly staff at Theranda, which we believe are our greatest assets. We enjoy the relationships and interactions that hospitality can offer and we take a genuine interest in serving our guests as best as we can. In regards to your comments about the positioning of the hotel and its physical aspects allow me to kindly make my remarks as the following: • Although the immediate surroundings are not the very best, Theranda is well located on the edge of the vibrant Block area and in walking distance to all major attractions of the city. • Being situated in a non busy street, it provides a very quiet environment for our guests, outside and inside our premises as you have acknowledged too. • Our modern and unique design definitely reflects the spirit of a quality hotel in Tirana and we take great pride in preserving much of that spirit and a distinctive character, from our overall decor to the particularities of each of our brightly decorated rooms and colorful bathrooms. • Theranda has seen many renovations and improvements over last year and they are ongoing and will continue in 2013. As our many loyal guests can attest, we are committed to constantly improving the comfort of our rooms and the quality of the service we provide. • Beeing very sensitive to the needs expected in our contemporary age, we have provided complimentary amenities such as free WiFi, free buffet breakfast and free parking for our guests. Thank you for noticing the cleanliness and also the quiet nature of our hotel, however we will take under consideration your constructive feedback, and will do our best on further implementing our strict non smoking policy and also ensure to manage efficiently the noises which can derive from other guests too. We know that there is always room for improvement and your feedback is very helpful. I hope that on your next trip to Tirana, you will consider staying with us again. Kind regards, Martin Gjonaj General Manager

On arrival I was given a warm welcome and shown to my room. It was not what I had requested, but with no fuss, I was taken to one which suited me. The hotel is very modern, even to the electronic door card. My room was spacious and airy, with plenty of storage space, a safe, and a bowl of fresh fruit. On arrival I asked for tea and coffee, which were promptly supplied and maintained during my stay. Towels were changed and the room cleaned daily. The A/C unit supplied plenty of warm air, which was much appreciated as the temperature was around 8 degrees outside.
The only meal provided was continental breakfast, which was very adequate, and this was served in the bar area, which has a light, modern decor. The bar had a reasonable range of drinks, both alcoholic and soft, with coffee always available. All the staff were very friendly, and Jona and Anisa, the receptionists, and Gus, the barman, were fluent in English. They were also extremely helpful with advice and information about the area. The instructions given to locate the hotel on its website are very accurate, although its location in a grubby courtyard, about 20 meters from the street, leaves something to be desired.
The hotel is situated only 5 minutes walk from the Block, where the bulk of Tirana's restaurants, bars and clubs are to be found, so there is no problem about finding a place for lunch or dinner. The hotel is ideally located for visiting the city on foot, as there is no place of interest more than a 15 minute stroll away. In the Block there are also many banks with ATMs and the bank staff also speak good English.
It is fair to say that the hotel added to the enjoyment of my stay in Tirana, and should I return for another visit, It will certainly be my first choice.

Our first trip to Albania. ( 2 couples staying 3 nights in executive rooms)
What impressed us most about Theranda hotel was the first class service offered by all of the staff particularly the receptionists. Before our stay there was excellent email communication with recommendations on what to do in a long weekend in Albania. On arrival the hotel had arranged taxi pick up from the airport which was handy because the hotel is tucked away down a side street. Although the immediate surroundings are not inspiring the hotel is well located in the Block region of the city.
The rooms were very clean and extremely comfortable. The showers took a little while to warm up but the breakfasts were good. Good wifi access. The staff helped to ensure our stay in this boutique hotel was a great one. Thank you.

Seeking a small and convenient hotel in Tirana as an alternative to the big international ones I was lured here by good reviews but I do not find them justified.

The staff is friendly but that does not make up for the lack of knowledge and experience. On arrival internet did not work in the room: no wireless, no LAN. I was offered to use the computer by the reception but they could not make that one work either. In the room - what should be the desk is in reality barely a make-up table, there are no plugs next to it and so on. The reception failed to pass an important message.

But I have to admit they always failed with a big smile so it was sort of easier to swallow.

It is slightly overpriced for what it is although that is not my main concern. The location is extremely convenient if a little hard to find and there is no point in blaming the hotel for being in a barely paved dusty alley.

I would try it again if I knew they sorted out the problems.

Dear Guest, I am sorry to learn your experience with us in June was not up to your expectation and the problems you were faced with. What bitters me the most is that we did not handle professionally the problems you had with the internet and passing to you the important message! I take advantage from this communication to apologize for the problem caused from the internet provider. Since then we have two of them, using one of them as permanent connection, and the other one as back up and now is up and running normally. I also personally did speak with the entire staff in emphasizing the importance of taking the appropriate actions and act professionally for every need our guests will have during their stay with us. It would have been even more helpful if you would have spoken to me directly in order to resolve problems, however, I would like to assure that all the appropriate actions have been taken we would welcome the opportunity to welcome you once again to see by yourself the steps which have taken to assure a memorable experience in our Hotel. Sincerely Altin Cupi General Manager
