Bujtina e Gjelit, envisioned and constructed in 1994 by a family with strong connections to the Albanian art and traditional values. Shingled roof, iron, stone and wood works in fine details created in an artisanal manner by the Albanian masters. Folkloric suits and traditional home interiors make all even more special. For many years, we have tried to faithfully transmit to our costumers, the architectonic and culinary values of the Albanian and Balkan tradition.Gjeli restaurant (outdoors/indoors)Taste the Albanian cuisine. Rotisserie piglet, Oven lamb, ember cooked sausage, traditional baked pie, are some of our chef’s original specialties. Our traditional way of cooking by the oven brick and the warm familiar feel would not escape your senses. We follow rigorously our guests’ needs and tastes, always trying to outdo ourselves on perfection and quality of serving. Gjeli hotelA characteristic construction with shingled roofs on stonewalls, balconies and wooden stairs, narrow corridors and room interiors designed by perfectly combining the old with the modern, take you on a journey of hundreds of years back in time. It's our first trip to Albania, and what a wonderful way to begin our adventure! The hotel is very easy to get to from the airport by car.

The bed is extremely comfortable, and the wooden beams make the room feel unique and timeless. Ours was overlooking the beautiful central courtyard and pool and we could hear the birds in the morning.

The rest of the hotel is so special, it really feels like we are staying in a family compound. There are open hearths for cooking and wood fired ovens and bric a brac scattered around the place. Oh and the tortoises wandering around by the courtyard are pretty cool too!

Most importantly for us, the food. My god the food is delicious! I would say it is worth staying here just for the food alone. We had grilled piglet, baked cheese, mixed roasted vegetables, and also a late night pizza (awesome).

Finally the staff were so helpful and friendly. If you want to have an Albanian experience in Tirana, you simply must visit Bujtina e Gjelit!

Beautiful hotel with tortoises chilling around the pool, a very interesting walk into the centre. There was lots of space and sunbeds were always available to chill out after a hectic day in the city

Breakfast was excellent I recommend trying the baked items they're brilliant.

Staff couldn't be more helpful, when my son was unwell and I was panicking a brilliant staff member calmed me down and went to the pharmacy for advice, returned with ibuprofen and my son was fine. Thank you for a loveky stay

Honestly I wish I could take this place and it’s people with me for the rest of my trip. There is not a thing I do not love about the property…the food, the grounds, the tortoises in the grounds, art down the halls and yes the rooms may not seem modern, but they are spotless and I slept like a baby. You would not know the hustle of Tirana is outside. The people speak good English and will help you with anything you want!

Wonderful stay. This is a lovely hotel that is even more beautiful than the pictures online suggest.
Friendly staff, spotlessly clean rooms and delicious food.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they go out of their way to help you to relax.
The rooms are really unusual which adds to the enjoyment of this quirky place.

A bit dismal. Breakfast was lackluster. Rooms are a bit grim. Price was reasonable -found a much better place for a little bit more money and a better part of town. The place looks like it’s historical but it was actually built in the 1990s so the charm is not exactly authentic.

This hotel-restaurant was amazing. The staff were very kind, helpful and spoke English. The pool in the central courtyard was perfect in the heat of the afternoon. The rooms were modern, clean and tasteful. The food was out of this world good. Fresh, organic and full of flavor. They have secure off street parking, are only 10 minutes by taxi or 15 by bus (bus stop right outside the hotel) from the city center. We could not have enjoyed our stay more.
