The inn was completely renovated in 2104, blending a new modern design into this historic Captains Mansion. All of our rooms feature brand new tile and glass spa bathrooms, Frette robes and slippers, Matouk linens, Malin and Goetz bath amenities, and Nespresso coffee machine. Our European innkeeper Peter, a third generation pastry chef, serves an incredible breakfast, and afternoon tea with fresh baked pastries each day. My wife and I, because of all the restrictions, limited our travel to somewhere “local.” Nantucket is local, to us, but is unique unto itself. It is all it is cracked up to be. Quaint gray-shingled houses, cobblestoned streets, long agreeable bike paths, isolated quasi-deserted beaches (in September) and great restaurants and local beer are all on offer. We dragged our luggage up from the ferry to our temporary abode, the Regatta Inn, which sits a short distance from Main Street, with its Whaling Museum and shops. We were immediately welcomed and shown to our room at the rear of the inn, up a narrow staircase. Though the room was small, there was a comfortable sitting area and bed, a good-sized bathroom and a well-placed television, where one could view the Stanley Cup Playoffs, or, Heaven help us, the Boston Red Sox. Breakfast, in light of the times, was thoughtfully delivered in a small, soft-sided, insulated bag. The menu varied, including yogurt, pastries, fruit and, on one morning, a breakfast sandwich. One of the items which was provided was not something my wife could eat and it was quickly replaced with another. The breakfast was satisfying and filling. There was a Nespresso machine in the room. The inn is managed by John, a young man with significant experience in the hospitality industry. He was great to talk to and attentive to detail. The common area was attractive, though we did not make much use of it because of the way of things these days. We also looked after ourselves, as opposed to seeking daily housekeeping. The room was very clean on our arrival. The inn is in the process of expanding its capacity and I understand will be closing at the end of the month (Sept) to accommodate the project. My husband and I stayed at the Regatta Inn for a few days while visiting the island of Nantucket. The Inn was absolutely lovely. It is a cute bed & breakfast that has everything you need in order to stay comfortable and relaxed. The rooms are quite spacious and the bed was magical. The service was excellent. We were greeted with a smile and every morning had a lovely breakfast awaiting us. There were always drinks and coffee throughout the day as well. The Regatta Inn is also in a great location.. just enough to downtown, but not in the midst of all the crowds. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Warning: the website makes it look WAY better, newer, fresher than what it is. Check in was awkward. After we paid months prior, we received nothing. When we showed up, door was locked, we had no instructions. We questioned if we had the date wrong. Waited outside in heat with luggage. Tried to call. When we finally got a response to come to the door, we were asked to “sit and chat” with inn keepers. Rooms weren’t ready. Flowers in lobby were dead. I understand covid makes things difficult, but these aren’t covid issues. Contacted the innkeepers prior to arrival to ask if we should expect change for covid… none were mentioned except breakfast would be delivered instead of buffet. Don’t really fault the innkeepers. We saw them at another property across the street so they must be managing two places. Had to request everything via text – fresh towels, more coffee pods, wi-fi code. Main floor had a lobby but often the innkeeper sat on the computer there and it was awkward. From the room you can hear everything outside at the restaurant next door until late at night, room needs a white noise machine. Bed only had 2 pillows and looked horrible when we walked in. No blanket on bed, no note for our anniversary. Shower had mold along edges. Only 2 bath towels. Beach towels were tired and faded. Chairs were old. Rug in the room was stained and old. Oh – and by the way – we don’t offer housekeeping! Loved the 24 hour Nespresso coffee availability but no cream or milk for coffee. They continued to run out of decaf. Self serve ice machine was great but the same scoop was handled by each guest and left in the ice (covid?) Breakfast arrived in a soft lunch bag at door at 8:30am. No indication of what was inside - mystery. First day was a burnt croissant, onion bread, 15 berries with a small cup of carrot juice (like the Naked juices from grocery store). Second day was bread pudding (with nuts?), coconut pudding with 5 berries and a mystery half cup of smoothie. Looks like they are renovating and adding more to the property – I suggest goitng elsewhere until things get figured out.…

Where to start? Despite reading several glowing reviews of Regatta Inn, nothing could have prepared me for the level of hospitality and exquisite breakfast. Traveling by itself can be tedious and unnerving at times, let alone during a pandemic, but Kathy and Peter made my long weekend as relaxing as possible. The common areas were clean and decorated nicely, including complimentary tea and Nespresso, and the room was cozy and VERY clean. During my stay, a plumber needed to access the bathroom for a minor repair, and everything was handled smoothly--it was almost as if it had never happened! The location, to me, is perfect: within walking distance of town, Brandt Point, and Something Natural, yet far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. Walking to and from the inn each day allowed me to appreciate the architectural and natural beauty of the island. I've saved the best for last: the complimentary breakfast every morning. My travel partner and I talked about them incessantly. Our first morning included a pesto flatbread, apple turnover, and granola yogurt parfait; the turnover and flatbread were still warm! The second morning included Greek-inspired strata, bread pudding, and a filling green smoothie. Our last morning was, like the others, scrumptious: the famous pesto flatbread and a warm layered apple bread pudding. When we were leaving, Kathy told us that normally there is a breakfast buffet each morning in the dining room. If the in-room breakfast was as delicious as it was, one can only imagine how mindblowing a buffet would be! We loved our stay at the Regatta Inn. It was very clean, the bed was really comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. Kathy and Peter were wonderful people and we will without hesitation be staying here anytime we’re back.

Parking from June 1st until September is strictly enforced and space for parking i( although free ) is not ample. We have street parking which is on first come basis. Regatta Inn pays for 2 parking passes which allow guests to park in a 2 hour limited area indefinitely during the day, it doesn't apply at night. The passes are on a first come basis also.
Weigh up the cost of bringing your car opposed to renting a jeep on island for a day or so- town is only 7 minutes walk, beaches can be reached by bicycle, public transportation or taxi.
