The Martin House Inn blends the convenience and comforts of today with the romance and nostalgia of the past. Built in 1803 by a sea captain for his bride and restored to a gracious old-world elegance, the inn combines the charm and romance of a bygone era with all the comforts of home. Its gathering areas, luxurious rooms, working fireplaces, peaceful veranda and serenity gardens (graced with gurgling fountains and a fire-pit, and caressed by the music of gentle breezes and classical piano), all beckon you to return. Watch a sunset from our roof-walk with a glass of wine in hand and savor the panorama of the town and harbor. Enjoy a bountiful continental breakfast, featuring our famous granola and scones, and come home to our homemade afternoon treats! Seven-time winner of the Certificate of Excellence award and located in the heart of Nantucket’s historic district, the inn is a short walk from shops, beaches, theatres, restaurants. 13 rms, A/C, WiFi, in-room hotel safes.

It was lovely to meet you! It is so nice to hear you had a lovely time, and enjoyed the fireplaced room (the pic you posted to FB was fantastic!). We are thankful that we are centrally located yet still only a bike , bus, or cab ride to the Island's outer edges. Lisa & I will look forward to your return! Next time, an excursion to Great Point to see the seals!

The Martin House Inn is absolutely wonderful!! The historic feel of the home and all its furnishings are so welcoming. Claire makes the most amazing scones for breakfast!! Whenever we go to Nantucket we stay here. It is in the historic district and close walking distance to everything. Highly recommended!!

Had the most amazing stay at the Martin House! We came for a long weekend over the summer (as a little honeymoon) and the staff welcomed us with a lovely bottle of champagne to congratulate us on our marriage! We were fortunate enough to stay in the large suite on the first floor and the room was just exquisite, with a large living room and bedroom! One of our favorite parts was the included daily breakfast and afternoon cookies, such a sweet little gesture! Thank you to Lisa and Claire for our stay at the Martin House! We cannot wait to come back to stay here next summer!

We enjoyed our long weekend stay at the Martin House very much. The building is immaculate and comfortable. It is an easy 10-12 minute walk to the ferry dock and less to area restaurants. There are a couple of beautiful beaches in walking (20 minutes or so) or biking distance (bike rentals are nearby too). We chose one of the smaller rooms but it felt comfortable, with a large canopied bed and a large enough bathroom. The room decorations were very nice. The common areas are well-appointed and the grounds are beautifully cared for. We ate out breakfasts in the garden (rather than the porch) each day. And the breakfasts were great - Clair made some of the best scones we've ever had each morning and kept the fresh coffee flowing. She was also a great host with restaurant suggestions and other activities. Well done!!

My wife and I stayed at the Martin House Inn for my 50th birthday and had a fantastic time. The inn is classic Nantucket at it's best. The innkeeper Claire does a wonderful job and the baking she does for the morning breakfast and afternoon treats is outstanding. We aren't afraid of traveling with COVID, but for the people out there that have concerns, feel confident about staying at the Martin House. They take safety and cleanliness seriously and it shows. We would highly recommend staying at the Martin House. We can't wait to return!
