My husband and I spent the weekend here for our anniversary and we really enjoyed our stay. We made a last minute booking during one of their busiest weekends and there was just 1 room left available (petite queen). The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated however if you are looking for space, I suggest opting for one of their larger rooms. The hotel staff was friendly and super accommodating. Added bonus: If you are planning to head to the beach, the hotel will provide you with beach towels and bags so you don't need to worry about packing that during your travels! We had a lovely time here and will definitely be back!

Hotel's Favourite
Upon check-in we were greeted with friendly smiles and accommodating staff. Our room was spacious, CLEAN, and decorated beautifully. The breakfast which was grab and go due to COVID was delicious. We ate our breakfast in the garden of the hotel each morning, which was lovely. My daughter and I are gluten-free and the staff was more than accommodating by making us breakfast that we could eat and ENJOY! 76 Main’s location is prime! Within minutes you could be at a cafe enjoying a delicious meal or shopping at a unique boutique. We look forward to returning soon!

We picked room 17 bc of the private entrance and secluded patio space which were both convenient and safe for covid. The packaged breakfasts were nice with hard boiled eggs, yogurt and pastries. I was really happy with the sleeper sofa option for anyone with a noisy/restless sleeping partner (like me)! Note the ceiling is low and the bathroom is snug, which didn’t bother us but wouldn’t work well for those over 5’10ish. The front desk was very accommodating with our asks, towel refresh etc. My favorite space was definitely the back private patio and fire pit. Location is great proximity to downtown

I’ve never written a review before but my experience here was so horrible I feel obligated to warn others before they pay top dollar. Not only was the hotel and front desk staff arrogant and completely unprofessional, but most of the time during our trip here the front desk was staffed by a group of teenagers who reeked of marijuana. The staff here have some of the worst attitudes I’ve ever encountered in the service industry. There is a fire pit in the back of the hotel, but it is only turned on during 4 to 7pm. After asking an employee to turn it on at 7:30pm, we were told it would go against the “quiet hours” that Nantucket apparently has after 9pm. If you’re taller than 6ft I would stay away from here. I am 6 foot and had to crouch down my entire stay in my hotel room because the ceiling is so low. The water pressure in the shower left me red and the mattress in the hotel room left me sore for days. Given the very expensive rate of the hotel I expected service to go above and beyond. We will never be coming back to this hotel (more like motel) again.

Thank you for your feedback. While we look to learn from each guest's experience and take critical feedback as constructive, it is important we clarify a few facts so future travelers aren't mislead. Our firepit hours are 5-9, after which time we do turn it off to respect the folks whose rooms are around the area. Your requests, including calling the emergency line to turn the firepit on, both came after 9 pm. Additionally, the ceiling in the room you stayed in is exactly 84 in and slopes down to 78 inches at its lowest point While it's important to point out the accurate information, we also hear loud and clear that the impression you were left with fell short of what we hope to create. We take that seriously, and will accept your input and use it to make us better for our future guests. Thank you for taking the time to share with us and others.

We have a sub with a little trailer with our Harley Davidson bike, do you have parking for that?
Answer from Abbey Hybl
Jul 2018 |
Hi Rose, We do have three parking passes for guests for street parking that are available by reservation. It's worth noting that we've only ever had cars parking on the street and no trailers and the ability to park may depend on the size of your trailer (although if it's just for a motorcycle, it's likely that you'll fit!). Thanks!

Hello We are planning to stay 5 days in June and wondering about ac in a room Thanks Alex
Answer from Amanda Wallace
Mar 2017 |
Hi Alex, thanks for your question! The rooms are certainly air conditioned... in fact, the main house rooms had a complete overhaul last year so the AC is great! The guest house rooms just have window units, but even in the heat of summer those tend to be sufficient. Especially as June is not at all an extreme month for temps, you should be just fine, but if you are particularly sensitive, maybe request a room in the main house. Have fun!

Geoffrey G asked a question Sep 2016
Boston, Massachusetts
Is there parking?
Answer from Amanda Wallace
Sep 2016 |
76 Main is located in a historic building, in a landmark neighborhood in the heart of town, so parking is very limited. Though we do offer a very limited number of parking passes for on-street parking, we discourage guests from bringing a car to the Island. Nantucket is easy to explore by bike or scooter and our public transportation system is excellent. If you do plan on bringing your car, please let us know in advance so that we can hope to reserve a parking permit for you.

Hi Louise, Good question. We do not have adjoining rooms at 76 Main, but we do have rooms that can accommodate up to 4 people. Also, our sister property, 21 Broad, which is just a few blocks away, has adjoining rooms. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to call us at 508 228 2533.
