The hotel was fully booked so I only had the opportunity to visit the restaurant and the public areas; this was enough to convince me come back and book a stay later. The food is well prepared and at a fair price, the views are incredible and worth the visit just for that reason.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Earth Lodge twice during our stay in Guatemala. The tent we reserved felt like a cloud our first night and we got a place with a view for the final night there! Both nights were complete with great service from our waiter, Jon! If you stay here, prepare yourself for fresh food, custom drinks, and chicken that some might even consider “too big”. Enjoy your stay!
We spent 3 nights in Earth Lodge with our 3 kids, all under 10. Each night we had to move rooms since we booked too late and they were full. We spent the first night in El Sueco, then we spent a night in two tents and the last night, we were in Casa Buena Vista. Each one of these places were great in their own way. The houses were spacious and original and the tents simple but with sufficient comfort to feel good. We did a lot of activities: yoga, playing in their amazing playground, going up the Pacaya volcano. The owners, their kids and the people working there are helpful and very reliable. The views are breathtaking. On the cons side: the hot water is scarce and a bit more effort could be put in the food.
We went with my family to Casa Buena Vista for one night. We were 2 adults and 2 teens. The room has 3 double beds, one of the beds is in a second level. The private bathroom is outside the room (I do not like that). The room and bathroom are simple and were clean. The views from Casa Buena Vista were stunning! We take dinner at Earth Lodge and the food was simple. I like very much the organic hot chocolate. The views from the restaurant were beautiful. The strengths of this place are the stunning views of nature and volcanoes and the natural and relaxed atmosphere. If you have problems to walk long distances or steep hikes, this place is not for you, because you have to walk from the parking lot to the hotel in a steep hike carrying your luggage. But the sacrifice it's worth the outstanding views. I recommend this place to families and couples that like to be close to nature and enjoy excellent views.…
My fiancé and I had an amazing stay at Earth Lodge. They took us in after we arrived at 8.30pm at night and helped us organize a room for a few nights. We booked the treehouse which was worth every cent! Waking up to those views was not only the highlight of our stay, it was the highlight of our whole trip to Guatemala. The grounds were absolutely stunning and have incredible views of Volcán de Fuego. We enjoyed eating breakfast in the cafe/lobby area, surrounded by the avocado trees and views of Antigua. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, which certainly made our stay that extra bit special. There’s plenty of things to do at the lodge to keep you occupied. We used the sauna, played some frisbee, basketball and darts. But in all honesty, you could spend your days just looking at the mountains and volcanoes if you wanted. It was a quick 20 minute drive into town which was convenient to grab a coffee or do a bit of shopping. We also enjoyed their contribution to a more sustainable lifestyle as we are both vegan, so thoroughly enjoyed the vegan options on the menu and the eco friendly products they had for sale. We bought the natural bug repellent which we love! Absolutely wonderful stay, we can’t wait to come back! …
