We picked this hostel as it was the only one available at the time. It was at such high price, yet so few facilities. No kitchen, just a small fridge and just one shower! Despite how many guests that could stay here! Must have been at least 20 bunk beds there, so could hold up to 40 guests! On top...

We stayed at Silvergate Hostel for 2 nights, having booked 3. On arrival we stated that we wished to cancel the third night (because it was a very expensive hostel and we wanted to get to dubrovnik). We paid for the 2 nights up front, however 3 weeks later, they charged my friends card for almost 100£!. They refused to...

The hostel is very clean and vibrant, it is located in the center of the old town which is a fantastic location. The staff are friendly and there is free wifi, good quality facilities and is perfect for a short cheap stay in Split.

This hostel, upon arrival seems brilliant. We were in a separate block from the main hostel, literally on the edge of the palace (which is the main area of Split) and the apartment is a big with a huge bathroom a huge kitchen and we even had a huge bedroom for just 3 people. There is aircon and the staff...

Average hostel, tiny, common area isn't very clean or welcoming. Over priced for what it is (40€ a night in July....) staff are pretty uninterested in you & only 1 male & 1 female shower. Close to everything in split which is good, but rooms are average. Wouldn't stay here again.

The hostel was hidden away in the old town but in a great location for everything nightlife, food, architectural history and the beach. Our train arrived late from Slovenia and the check in had closed but the lovely owner left us our keys outside the door and a little note which was nice and appreciated as they weren't overly conscious...

The place is really hard to find and many things are not working as they should. However, the price is very reasonable for this well-located hostel ! The staff is very kind and the rooms were perfect. We were the only two in the entire hostel so it was really calm.

Pros: good location, nice enough rooms Cons: 1 shower each for male/female when there are at least 30 beds, 'kitchen facilities' are a fridge and a microwave, the laundry facilities were broken on arrival and the closest launderette was £7 a load, no lockers, no 24x7 check in, although rooms were nice enough it was small and the common room...

I was very tired so just wanted to sleep to rest up before Croatia sailing and this was the perfect spot! Bed was comfy even though to get to the room I had to go through another room.. Wifi worked well. Small quiet place maybe not so good for solo traveller unless you need time out!

Nearly an hour lost to check in as the receptionist does not know how to use a computer. Poorly maintained place (had to shower in the dark, noisy and malfunctioning air conditionner, etc.). More expensive than sleeping at the inhabitant as soon as you do not travel alone. Walk by without stopping.
