We were here for a week in early October and what a fantastic hotel this is!

Firstly, the staff were absolutely excellent - nothing was too much trouble for them.

The free airport transfers were great. It was really easy to arrange with the hotel (an email with our flight and contact details). We were greeted immediately outside of the airport terminal by our driver who then took us to the hotel in a small private mini van, helpfully pointing out some of the main attractions on the way there.

The room itself was very good, with effective air conditioning and a nice spacious balcony. The only minor issue we had with the room, was that we found the pillows way too soft with your head sinking into the middle of them. However this is personal preference and there was nothing else we could fault in the room.

The undoubted highlight of the hotel is the facilities, which are top class! The choice of indoor heated and outdoor pools were excellent, there is a good amount of sun loungers and towels readily available and the gym was really well equipped.

The breakfast is one of the best hotel buffets we’ve ever had! There is an enormous range of foods, including hot and cold options, fruit, fresh pastries that were constantly replenished, and a fresh egg and omelette station which were cooked to order. One unexpected highlight was the range of dairy free options available, with a huge selection of milks including lactose free, oat, almond and soya to name a few! Fresh filter coffee was also prepared, and served to you which was a lovely touch!

The hotel is in a good location, you can walk to Lapad in about 15 minutes where there is a nice beach and some bars and restaurants. If going take the costal path which has some amazing views. It’s also really easy to get to the old town as there is a bus stop directly outside of the hotel. The bus comes about every 15 minutes and costs around 15HRK per journey, we bought tickets from the driver every time!

Overall this is the perfect hotel when visiting Dubrovnik!

Good breakfast buffet with a wide choice variety including hot and cold as well as eggs and omelettes cooked to order.
Clean, comfortable and quiet room. Good WiFi and bathroom well equipped.

Would have enjoyed a room facing the sea (from other reviews a higher floor have better views). Some slight concern about the balcony if travelling with kids (ability to drop items easily).
Also wouldn't recommend rest of hotel for travelling with kids. A fairly small kids pool, lots of stairs to restaurant and pool.

Pool was nice and a good length, potentially busy as not loads of beds in summer. Indoor pool great option as well.

Check-in and out both quick and easy. Despite having to sign for drinks to charge to room had additional drinks on bill but didn't dispute and quickly removed.

Slightly odd layout of hotel (eg couldn't go between restaurant and pool without going up a level and back down) and to get to rest of the resort (restaurants/shops) had to go through the pool area.

Stayed b&b only, about 6 restaurants (not connected to hotels) within walking distance, fairly priced and not too busy in September.

We were originally booked to stay at the Argosy (like a few others but was told and given the option to change in advance). Can't comment on Argosy but President had a great sea view and beach access. Would recommend using president for the beach as Copacabana beach had a high price of 300 kuna for 2 sunbeds which were needed on the rocky coastline.

Found the hotel accessible for getting into old town and Gruz port - regular bus (not too busy until Lapad) and even sell tickets in hotel. Airport shuttle to airport can be picked up behind Grawe building which is also where number 6 bus stops and saves money on either a taxi / pulling suitcases up to the cable car pick up stop.

Would visit Dubrovnik for a week (wasn't lots of extra things to do for longer than a week) and would come back to the Lacroma.

We stayed a week at Lacroma in June via Jet2. The hotel overall is very nice with good facilities and handy for Dubrovnick town. We had a superior room at front looking towards the hills behind. Good size with big, comfy bed, tv, kettle etc but toiletries are squeezy bottles which is a bit down-market. There are often buses and taxis sitting at front entrance for long periods with engines running which means balcony can be very noisy when sitting out, depending where the room is. Room cleaning seemed rather basic, our balcony never touched all week.
Outdoor pool is nice, plenty sunbeds and you have the option of large indoor pool too. Snackbar food is freshly prepared and good. Residents can use the sauna/steam room part of the spa for free and it is really good.
Hotel sits beside other Valamar properties and you can use the pebble beach at the President nearby, they charge you 95kuna per couple for sunbeds and towels which is not bad (the guy at Copacabana beach charges 300kuna).
We took half-board package and breakfast was very good, big selection. Buffet dinner not so good, after initial rush when service started they seemed unwilling/unable to keep popular dishes topped up, if you went later it was really poor. Felt like the budget was set pretty low. They clearly get lots of tour groups coming through for one or two nights and those numbers exacerbate the buffet issues. There is an a la carte restaurant in the hotel and a couple of restaurants nearby and plenty to choose from nearer town. There is a kind of plaza sitting amongst the hotels but most of units are empty except for a couple of small supermarkets and a bar.
Big, pleasant hotel bar area looking out over coast, prices reasonable and with entertainment some nights.
Bus into Dubrovnik stops beside the hotel, is frequent and you can buy tickets in hotel shop.
We found the staff generally pleasant and helpful.
Overall we had an enjoyable stay to chill out in some sun and to visit Dubrovnik city but would not recommend half-board. Worth getting a seaview room rather than front.

Stayed for a week half board via TUi. Hotel facilities were great, massive pool and grounds which are very well kept, always free sunbeds when needed etc. Stunning views from the outside areas, staff friendly and make an effort. We stayed in a superior twin, which was ok. Very clean but tired decor. TV didnt work, and the kettle lid was broken. Shower was hot or cold with other bits in the room just needing some basic TLC. Dint feel 4* at all.

Main issue of the stay was the food which was shocking. Breakfast firstly was always cold, hot plates simply didn't work, so your only options was queuing for a fresh omelet which took 20 minutes. Usual fruit and pastry's on offer but again not 4*.

So for dinner service if you arrived at 7pm when the doors opened, the mains were never out on time which was annoying. Everything was fried on a open grill in front of you, soaked in cooking oil with no seasoning. Plain chicken breast, or deep fried pork in bread crumbs. The fish options was clearly the cheapest white fish you could order again just fried. Then your usual pasta ragu or pizzas with potatoes or chips literally every night. Now deserts, there was no dedicated cold area, so deserts sat on ice to be kept cold, which meant you were eating warm chocolate moose or runny cheesecake.

Zero care or pride in the food across the board. Either for cost saving or a terrible food and beverage manger.

Pool bar food was great, chef should be given a promotion, but obviously not included.

Not sure how such a big chain can allow this to happen, we have stayed in Valamar Isabella in Proec which was fantastic. That was a 4 star but the two hotels are in different leagues.

Could have been so much better with small changes.

We are currently staying at here for our honeymoon, we booked the V level service and a room with a sea view first day or so, everything seamed amazing but soon noticed a few poor failings in the service which really shouldn’t be possible for an apparently 4 star hotel.

Pros
V level service (access to the v level reserved beds, private airport transfer. 6 different sorts of pillows to choose from, a dedicated check in service)

Comfy bed

Great housekeeping

Modern rooms

Amazing views

Gluten Free options at breakfast (although not always replenished)

Staff are very polite and professional.

Cons
Poor nightly entertainment, one night it was even cancelled as they had a convention on and it was clear this was the priority.

There are 3 areas to get a meal, buffet dinning room which others here have mentioned it’s full of rude coach traveler’s pushing everyone out of the way, the second, it’s a very basic menu which leaves the lounge bar which we didn’t even know you could order food at under day 3.

In the evening If the lounge bar is busy, it’s poor service as it seams only two staff members cover the full outside area and it’s extremely hard to get a drink.

At the meals, water isn’t even included as part of the buffet price.

Upon check in we were told breakfast was between 7am and 11am however First morning we attended at 10:05 to find out breakfast had finished. And it is 7am to 10am in reality.

These cons seam trivial individually however I wouldn’t them expect at a 4 star resort.

Would I come back…… not sure.

We are currently staying at the Valamar Lacroma. The hotel is fabulous, we are over the moon! Couldn't have chosen a better hotel to stay in Dubrovnik, everything is new and immaculate. Location is amazing, right by beach and has fantastic views of the sea and the sunset. There's a nearby Promenade which has a lovely walk along the coast with amazing sea views and bars etc and it's so easy to get into the old town - just buy your return ticket from the hotel shop, (about 3 euros in cash only ) and the bus stop is at the back of the hotel. Modern clean buses run every 15 mins and only takes 15 mins to get there. The old town is spectacular, a must see.
The hotel has a beautiful infinity pool with plenty of loungers and umbrellas for everyone and a beautiful indoor pool with spa loungers and sauna which anyone can use. And the food is just amazing! Every choice of food imaginable is on offer, and is freshly made in front of you by chefs . Just Incredible! The bar has a large outside terrace with modern furnishings and classy musical entertainment nightly and the drinks are very reasonably priced compared with the local bars. The staff are very attentive and well mannered and you can see they take pride in their work. We are very impressed and we are incredibly happy to be staying here at this gorgeous hotel. No faults at all. 10/10.

We went in late July & stayed in room 4113 on a bed & breakfast basis. I must say we thought this hotel was great!!! The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels for when we got back it also came with air con which was a life saver because of the heat! The breakfast on a morning had absolutely everything from a hot breakfast to cereals, all the breads with a chef on hand to make fresh omellets if required etc etc. Fresh tea, coffee, orange juice & also fresh fruit so as far as breakfast goes it had everything! Reception area was really nice & every member of staff we spoke to were courteous & spoke really good English & where more than helpful. The pool area was nice the pool isn't actually a big size but done the job to cool off but the Sun bed area was a decent size with plenty of beds & stand alone showers if you didn't want to go in the busy pool. Also towels for your sunbeds you can get from the pool area so you don't necessarily need to take your own towels. There are shops round the back of the Hotel & a bus stop just outside the hotel to get the bus into the town which is cheap & about a 10 minute journey! There is the Valamar President hotel around the back were you can use there facilities & has a beach area but costs about 10 Euro to sun bathe which was a nice change!
All in all we couldn't fault Croatia what a beautiful place ( i could go on) & the Hotel was really nice for what we needed & would stay there again definitely!

Thanks for a wonderful time!

Spent a week at this hotel from 21/10/2021 .there for a birthday treat. the hotel is set in an area with similar size hotels in the Babin kuk area of the Lapad peninsula , the cruise ships pass this area on their journey into Dubrovnik.the hotel is a large modern well equipped hotel .staff engage well with guests .check in was quick and easy and we were soon in our room with sea view which also over looked the pool area .we were on a half board basis .meals were taken in the large dining room .the food on offer reflects the many nationalities that visit this hotel .the choice of food was vast ,we tried much of what was on offer during our week there but not everything due to the vast choice.freshly made food at breakfast and evening meals by an array of chefs , Zahidja ( hope I've spelt her name right ? ) was amazing on the fresh omelettes ! , not only could she cook 4 omelettes at once but she kept the area clean and tidy at the same time ! .Samir our waiter was very attentive and always on hand if needed .the cleaning staff were always pleasant and taught us the correct pronunciation of good morning/evening in Croatian .the hotel has an indoor pool ,spa , gym and outdoor pool , the outdoor pool is not heated and is only for the brave in October .
There is a very good and cheap public bus service in Croatia with stops close to the hotel. The hotel is around 5km/3mls from Dubrovnik old town ,we walked into the Old town and it took us around 1 hour , the route is very hilly and not suitable if you have mobility or health issues ,take the bus there's a frequent service .the hotel is close to the marina , again it's a hilly route down to the marina should you choose to walk ,the marina is a great place to people watch, plenty of boats selling day trips out to the many island around Dubrovnik. We took a boat trip out to Lokrum island which left from the Old town and not the marina.local currency is the Kuna , some places will only take the Kuna ,some will take the Euro and Kuna but they will display a sign to let you know , the same applies to credit/debit cards .

Despite this being our honeymoon, the hotel made no effort to make this trip feel extra special. This was made aware to them during the time of booking and arrival, but this wasn't acknowledged by the staff which was surprising giving the positive reviews of the hotel and the extra requests made by our travel agent.
The most the hotel has going for it was its location. Close to beautiful beaches, accessible promenade walks and on the main bus route into the old town. Without this, out stay at the hotel was average considering its 4* rating.
The room decor was nothing but basic, and the amenities within it similar to that of a travel lodge. No individual toiletries, just ones stuck to the wall in a squeeze bottle. Pillows were hard as rocks, but the bed was a decent size and particularly comfy.
In terms of the staff, this is the hotels biggest downfall especially those that work in the buffet restaurant. Plates were even being taken away so quickly that you barely had chance to put down your knife and fork, or service took so long that you had nearly finished your meal before a drinks order was taken. One night we asked several members of staff for drinks, 3 of which said they were unable to take orders and would get someone to come to us, which didn't happen until we were nearly finished with our meal.
I certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel for young families, as there is no entertainment or suitable facilities for children. The hotel seem more interested in hosting private functions and conferences than making sure their guests are satisfied.
In spite of all of this, we still had a lovely trip away as the country, food, people and culture are all exquisite. Thankfully we are not the kind of people to stay at the hotel and lounge around the pool as this would have massively impacted our stay. We ventured out of our comfort zone to stay somewhere a bit 'nicer' with it being a special occasion such as our honeymoon, but both myself and my partner have agreed we would return to Croatia in a heartbeat just not the hotel.

Beautiful hotel. Extremely large and sprawling grounds. Loved location Hotel is spotless. Gardens beautifully kept
Lots of outdoor and indoor loungers on beautiful patio areas. It’s a stunning location for sunset photos too
Lovely lounge area and beautiful breakfast every day lots of chefs making eggs all ways plenty staff clearing tables. Plenty choice for breakfast with fruit cheeses hams fresh honeycomb etc etc Coffee was fab!
Cocktails in bar were very poor basically was crushed ice and syrups added no fresh ingredients Not impressed with this as not cheap! Don’t mind pricy cocktails but only when effort made to make them but this was rubbish and rip off
Bedroom had lovely big bed, balcony, fridge (filled with goodies) but no price list. Luckily we asked if it was complimentary or chargeable…..was Chargeable! Safe in large wardrobe and great bathroom. Grouting needs attention along with bath drainage rm 5065
Location excellent for wander to beach or along cliff edge for bars or bus stop into old town which is approx 15-20 mins Found lovely restaurant literally 2 min walk from hotel which was excellent. Couple of small shops and a few bars with 5 min walk too
I’d stay again no problem
