A nice room with a fan, tv and a good ensuite with a good shower . The hosts were nice and accomodating to arrival times. The place felt secure and was quiet in our time here . It is well located and as such i would recommend
5 stars across the board! Great location, immaculate, super beds, and wonderful communication and support! Very close to the walled city in a pedestrian area. Recommend highly. We stayed here for 3 nights. If we come back we will definately stay here! Eat at the pizza place across from the bus stop! We wanted something light and the pizza was perfect! Wonderful teeny bakery to the left of the steps as you exit on the street - walk a tad on the sidewalk, you’ll see it to your keft.
I’ll basically just reiterate what other travellers have said and that is that you won’t find better value for money, a better position or a lovelier host. I went into the Old Town every day which was a 3 minute walk, went to the gorgeous Sulic Beach which is 30m away and enjoyed a sizeable room with all the necessary amenities (wardrobe, kettle, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi). When I turned the air conditioner on the first day it started leaking water but Cvjetko called a technician and had it fixed that day. Cvjetko was only too happy to help with anything and provided tips on restaurants, transport and attractions. I would highly recommend staying here and would absolutely go back.
I can’t say enough good things about our stay here! PERFECT Location right near the water and several public beaches, as well as right outside Old Town. The space itself is very clean, comfortable, and cozy. The staff was very friendly and communicated with us well. And all of this awesomeness does NOT come at a premium cost. I’d absolutely recommend this spot.
* Firstly, apologies for lateness in posting review! * Location, location, location!!! Just a 1 minute walk and you’re at Pile Gate (the main gate for entering Dubrovnik’s Old Town). Local buses also stop at Pile Gate so if you arrive in Dubrovnik by bus, simply walk from the Bus Terminal to the main road (20 steps or so) and catch either No’s 1a or 1b to the end of the line (Pile Gate) – it’s about a 3km journey (buy your ticket at the Bus Terminal kiosk (12HRK) or on the bus from the driver (15HRK), exact money required). If you arrive in Dubrovnik by ferry, you can also catch bus No’s 1a or 1b to Pile Gate (the Ferry Terminal is about 600m closer to Pile Gate than the Bus Terminal, so the bus travels along the same road). Considering the number of steps you’ll encounter whilst exploring Dubrovnik’s Old Town, there are not many (approximately 30) to reach Rooms Kortizija (very handy if travelling with heavy luggage – note the pavement is cobble stones but you shouldn’t have problems if your luggage has wheels). Depending which room you book, you may be on the ground floor, 1st floor or 2nd floor. The stairs are quite narrow, but very manageable if you take your time and are careful. The room is compact but very manageable (after all, you’re in Dubrovnik so I doubt you’ll be spending much time in your room!). The bed is very comfortable (good quality mattress, pillows and bed linen), the shower is brilliant (good water pressure, plentiful hot water & good size shower) and the room is spotlessly clean. We stayed in Room No 4 and it also had a small bar fridge, and a lovely window which looked out onto the street below. The pictures are a very accurate reflection of what you get! Dubrovnik is a relatively expensive city, and I consider Rooms Kortizija ‘value for money’. The area is peaceful at night. Nearby are restaurants, bakery, grocery store, and several options for swimming, or hiring kayak’s etc. Management were extremely kind and helpful to us and printed our ferry tickets when we were departing. We were also able to store our bags as our ferry departure was much later than check-out time. All communications pre-arrival were responded to promptly, and the check-in process was hassle free. We stayed 3 nights and recommend it to all.…
