I stayed at the 'More' apartment with my parents for a week in Dubrovnik. It is one of three beautifully refurbished apartments. The rooms were fresh and clean, with great nautical themed decor and the WiFi worked perfectly! The apartment is in an ideal location - not even a minute walk to the Ploče Gate. On arrival, we were welcomed by Michael, who gave me links to all the best things to do, places to go and restaurants to visit around Old Town and Dubrovnik. The pool is fresh water so its a bit chilly, but perfect after a day of walking around Old Town. Sure, on a Friday night it would be a little bit noisy, but nothing major. Banje Beach is a short walk away from the apartment and there are also two small supermarkets within a 3 minute walk (the bakery near the Ploče Gate is also nice). The guys at the pizzeria next door are lovely and friendly, and even brought pizza up to the pool! Michael and Isabelle were brilliant hosts, they provided a bottle of red wine, a bottle of white wine and some snacks when we arrived and (in traditional Croatian fashion) left us some homemade liqueurs (Rakija, Amaretto and Cherry Liqueurs). We will definitely be visiting again! Thank you for making our first visit to Croatia so wonderful!…
The apartment is in a great location. Generous space, sufficient and functioning AC. Too bad the experience was completely ruined by unacceptable customer service. This is marketed as a 4* serviced apartment. There is a guest relations personnel (Ana) to contact, and we communicate via WhatsApp. I am in secret 2 and the WiFi wasn’t working the last 2 nights. Apparently the modem is located in another room and the guests had to reset it. Was fine on the first night. . On the second night, the WiFi couldn’t be fixed. I have asked so politely but to my surprise, she’s replied in an extremely rude manner questioning why am I contacting her during late hours ( I contacted her 9.30-10pm) with exclamation marks. I made a complain on hotels.com about the service and they called the apartment, she then UNNECESSARILY TEXTED ME SARCASTICALLY indicating that I so urgently need the WiFi when others are sleeping. (Didn’t manage to screen shot this). ???!?? Firstly, free WiFi is inclusive in the room rate. Secondly, it’s not wrong for guests to come home late. Thirdly, i wouldn’t be so mad if she’s more polite and accommodating to the paying guests. Lastly, if there are 3 apartments, why did they not buy individual modems for every room instead of having one room relying on another. It’s unfair for guests for both rooms as the guests with modem in the room will be disturbed as well. I have travelled extensively and the price of USD 200 per night is unjustifiable for the service you are receiving. Absolutely HORRIFIED.…
OK, not perfect if you struggle with stairs - it is three flights up (or 2 out of 3 apartments are, the other is a floor lower). We had two bedrooms downstairs and a fantastic lounge area upstairs, with kitchenette. You do hear the bells of the church next door, but I doubt they would keep you awake. Lovely shower, though prone to flooding the bathroom (who forgot the floor drain??), and the air conditioning was quite efficient. I would certainly come back.
Great location...right in the heart of the city. Stayed here 4 nights, huge clean apartment. The only negative would be the noise so if easily woken I wouldn’t recommend. On Friday night the music from the main bar on the Stradum went on till 2am. Having just arrived and after a 4am start for flight from London, even with double glazing it felt more Ibiza. Then you are next to the church so the bells ring all through the night on the hour. There are some things i noticed from a previous review in July that sadly were not fixed when we stayed in September...washing machine broken and shower head broken off the wall. These 2 things need to get fixed ASAP. Really not good enough especially the shower ..... Apart from that....location amazing and great value !!!
This place was our "splurge" accommodations of our 10 day trip in Croatia as we were staying 3 nights in Dubrovnik and I wanted a nice place to rest after 10 hours in flight travel. I was super excited to stay here as it looked beautiful in the pictures and was highly rated. It was indeed very spacious (probably bigger than our real apartment), very clean and nicely decorated. The two of us were put in the one bedroom on the first floor from the entrance. We had a number of issues during our stay in late June. First, although we got hot water the first night, we did not the second night as we accidentally turned off the hot water switch when we left for the day. The hosts did not warn us ahead of time to keep that switch on the whole time, so I thought when you switched it on, you would get hot water. Our other hosts at other places did tell us to keep that switch on the whole time. Second, the WiFi was incredibly slow. We probably would've gone mad if we didn't have our own data through our phone carrier. Third, the washing machine was broken and they didn't supply any detergent so we bought our own at the local grocery store. This turned out to be a waste of money as we weren't able to use the machine. How hard is it to give your guests some laundry detergent for a couple US dollars / ~40 kuna? There was a coffee machine but no coffee provided. Why provide these amenities if guests have to pay extra to use them? I felt it would be more gracious of the hosts to provide these small items and at a low cost to them. Fourth, the thing to hold up the shower head was broken so we had to hold the shower head in our hand. This is just one of my pet peeves as I find it takes me longer to shower. The positive of this place is that it is located right in the heart of the city walls so it is very easy to get anywhere quickly. The con of this is that it's right next to the church which seemed to ring its bells every 30 minutes to an hour. This didn't disturb us at night while we were sleeping but was somewhat annoying. We took the airport bus that dropped us off at pile gate which was easy and very affordable. Don't take the hosts' shuttle as it drops you off at ploce gate and there are more steps to endure to get to the apartment. The hosts responded fairly quickly to our inquiries but I wouldn't stay here again. They did let us keep our luggage here for a later check out while we visited Lokrum island, which was nice.…
