From the very start of our holiday all the staff at the hotel have been fantastic. On arrival we had a beautiful room, with a red rose, sweet treats & a letter for our wedding anniversary.
The staff in the restaurant & bar work long hours & are as attentive & courteous in the evening as they are in the morning, to everyone. Whilst some of the food on offer is the same each night, there has also been variations each night, giving us something new to try every night & everything has been delicious.
Before we arrived the hotel recommended a visit to Mount Srj & this trip was as breathtaking as they described.
Our room (608) was spacious, with a balcony overlooking gardens & some of the harbour. The sunsets from our room were stunning. There is a fridge and comfy chair in the room, so was comfortable to relax after a day of sightseeing and before our evening meal.
Although the hotel is large, the attention to detail & dedicated staff made it feel like a smaller hotel. Every staff member we met took time to say hello in passing & answered any questions to their best ability- even if asked the same question lots of times (I noticed this waiting in reception one morning!)
There were roadworks directly outside the hotel which are beyond the hotel’s control & meant a short walk was needed if using some taxi’s, but this didn’t distract from the beauty of the hotel & the noise was bearable. A local told us the works have been happening for the past year & should be completed by December 2023- they didn’t affect our holiday.
The hotel is a short bus ride from the Old Town & a 15-20minute walk from the Gruz harbour, so an ideal place to plan sightseeing & away from the hustle & bustle to relax. Is also an ideal place to view the boats & cruise ships using the harbour.
Dubrovnik is a beautiful area, with passionate people- this is certainly matched by Hotel Lapad & our stay here enhanced our visit. We cannot recommend the hotel enough & will certainly be returning as guests ourselves.
We cannot thank everyone enough for making our first visit to Dubrovnik & Lapad memorable.

We are just home from a week at hotel Lapad and honestly we were blown away and gutted that we've had to leave. We were checked in nice and early and the staff were efficient telling us meal times etc. Food was gorgeous from the continental breakfast to buffet dinner, there is something to eat for everyone from salads, vegetables, pasta, rice meat and fish options. Service in the restaurant was great too and a drinks menu is brought to you within a couple of minutes of being seated for your evening meal. They also clear away your table super quick as well.
The rooms are great, aircon, mini fridge, hairdryer, kettle. Bathroom was lovely with good water pressure. A waterfall shower, a smaller shower head and a decent sized bath. You can also drink the tap water!
We loved the location it's nice and quiet away from the main holiday street but only a 10-15 minute walk there and down to the beach. It looks out onto the gruz harbour which provides great access to boats to go touring the islands. Local buses into the old town are a less than 10 minute walk away or you can get an uber for 50 kuna (£5).
We spent most nights drinking in the hotel bar because the cocktails are exquisite and cheaper than a lot of the bars nearby. The evening entertainment was quite classy and chilled compared to other holiday destinations.
The pool is fairly small but we had no trouble getting a sunbed in september and I never saw more than 6 people in the pool at a time, quite often we had it to ourselves.
This hotel is really beautiful and the staff are a credit to it. We had cleaners knocking on our doors asking if we needed clean towels or more milk regularly as we didn't have them in to turn the room over everyday through choice but this is a personal preference. The cleaners really are lovely people and add to the luxury holiday feel. Really all the staff were pleasant and have very good English. We can't wait to come back to this gorgeous place!
Thank you hotel Lapad for being the best home from home for a week x

The best maintained hotel I have ever been to and a very fine castle-like façade. Mostly adult guests at least during May, so a calm atmosphere. Room cleaning is done daily and the cleaners and other staff are very friendly. The balcony rooms are quite modern, but small as are the balconies. The balcony rooms are on the sides of the annex, so the view of the harbor is only partial from most of the rooms. Rooms have free air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a safe and a fridge. Room lighting is great, but the lighting control panel is difficult to use without instruction. The reception will help with any questions. The breakfast buffet is good and there is also a buffet dinner (available at an additional cost), but the meat is always overcooked, so dinner is not of a fine dining standard. The selection is good including salads, fish, chicken, meat and dessert cakes. All drinks for dinner must be purchased separately. Please note that dinner costs 200 kunas per person (approximately EUR 25) when purchased at the hotel, so it is advisable to buy half board directly when booking the hotel, if more discounted. The pool area and garden are great, but there are too few sun loungers and parasols. The location of the hotel is quiet in the marina and at least during our time the construction of the coastal road did not bother us. About a 15 minute walk to sunset beach promenade with lots of bars and restaurants. About a 45 minute walk to the old town or about 10 minutes by bus number 6. The super-konzum grocery store in Cruz Bay is affordable with a good selection, but there are few other shops. At least you should see the old town, the Buza bar, the SRD mountain with a cable car and a walk around the Lapad peninsula. You can buy a day trip to the really beautiful Kotor, Montenegro, which I recommend. I will definitely return to Dubrovnik, but to Lapad sunset beach, where you can see the sunset every night. Still, the Lapad hotel receives a strong recommendation from us.

Perfect for an overnight stop off. From the front, this hotel looks very smart. A good sized swimming pool infront of an impressive building. However the pool is right by the road that services this part of the port so a few lorries pass every so often and it is quite corporate once inside. This area of the port is not very picturesque & has nothing to do around.
The staff at the desk and the (plain sparse looking bar), were friendly and very efficient. I have no issue at all with the staff. My big complaint is that although the hotel is operating at extremely low levels, I was given a room #610 which is on the back/side of the hotel that looks over old apartment gardens with peoples washing hanging out (see photo). Also at 6:30am, I heard the rubbish truck collecting the trash. Why would a hotel with so many empty rooms give a customer ( even staying for just one night) such a poor room?! I’m stunned. Regardless of the deal price given due to lack of customers, this is no way to treat a paying customer. The room was clean but had a small window so not particularly bright. The lighting is not good enough at night to read a book in bed. The positives I am left giving this hotel is that the room was clean & fairly cheap and that it is only 5 mins cab ride from the ferry port & 40-50 mins from the airport. There is a nice relaxed local restaurant called Peppers a few doors away for dinner.
It’s a shame, but if they might have given this customer a better room, I might have given them somewhere 4 stars instead of 3!

Dear Bobby thank you for taking time to publish your detailed feedback, highly appreciated. We are aware that, sometimes, despite all our efforts to deliver great service, there will be some parts of the package to the guest's dislike. Kindly note you were given a twin bedded room and an upgrade to balcony room since you made reservation for no balcony rooms. It was our decision, due to complete situation this year, to make sure our guests get upgrades whenever possible as we wanted to give amazing holidays to all travelers who decided to travel despite the season being so challenging. We are lucky to be staying in this fabulous hotel for 2 weeks. We have a junior suite which overlooks the hotels swimming pool, facing the harbour. This lovely suite has high ceilings, separate living area, 2 TVs (with lots of channels and films in English with Croation subtitles) with a bathroom and another separate WC.

Everything thing is spotlessly clean. The staff are very helpful. friendly. professional and always at hand. The gentlemen on reception were only too happy trying to assist us with ferry times etc. The bar is nice and atmospheric. The breakfast is a self service buffet which has a very good choice of dishes and chef on hand to cook eggs and omelettes to order. The breakfast staff are lovely and seem to be able to speak many languages! Dinner is also self service in the same dining area however in our opion the room is too brightly lit and functional for evening atmosphere.

We enjoy the hotels position as away from the crowds of old town yet lovely local restaurants within walking distance.

It's only a 10 minute stroll to the nearest bus stop which takes you to the old town gates, No 6 bus runs every 15 minutes. About a 20 minutes walk around the bay, opposite the hotel, you can catch the local ferry to Sipan, Kolocep or Lopud for only 19 Kns each way, you can buy tickets from the Jadrolinija offices opposite where you embark the ferry. We also purchased the Dubrovnik 7 day card which is very good value as its includes the Dubrovnik wall ticket, in addition 10 local bus rides and 2 return bus journeys to Cavtat as well as other museums. We also hired a car and drove to Bosnia and Herzegovina to see Mostar and Montenegro to visit Kotor, the borders were hassle free and roads quiet as October. Just need to remember driving licence, passports and printed covid vaccination certificates.

We would have no hesitation in recommending staying here.

Stayed here for only 1 night prior to boarding a cruise. The hotel location was pretty convenient for us as our ship departed from near the green market which is across the water - so only a 5 min taxi ride.
Our room had a small balcony & as others have noted it's a very large hotel with many lift changes required from lobby to room.
Breakfast was included - buffet style with lots of options.
We did not eat dinner in the hotel - chose to walk along the waterfront and picked one of the smaller restaurants just up the road.

We came at the end of September for a last minute break. If anyone has concerns about Covid then you needn't worry. The staff all wear masks, and there is hand sanitiser placed in all communal areas. In your room there is even a "Stay Safe in Croatia" set with masks and antibac wipes - a really nice touch.

The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, and our room was cleaned every day. The staff are all fantastic, the Reception Staff, the barman, the breakfast staff, and a shout out to the cleaners who always had big smiles and said hello (and thank you to the cleaner on our first day who showed us how to open the door!).

I felt spoiled for choice at breakfast, and there was plenty of space in the restaurant so you could sit and take your time. Our room was ample for us, with a nice little balcony with a couple of chairs if you fancy sitting out. I never saw any congestion around the pool, but if there was - there was another little area with loungers that you could go to if you wanted to sit in the sun.

There are buses round the corner that take you to the Old Town, but you can easily walk there in about 40 minutes. All in all, a fantastic trip and I would recommend to others!

Just came back from a 3 night stay and enjoyed every minute of it. the hotel is located on the edge of the harbour with a nice choice of resturants within easy reach.
The old town is a 10 min bus trip away and cost just over £1 with the bus stop 5 mins up the road.
We stayed in the new part of the hotel at the back and our room was very well equiped with tea/coffee flat tv with loads of english channels, safe, hair dryer etc.
We stayed on a b&b basis and have to say the breakfast had something for everybody and very tasty.
The hotel has a pool at the front and although we didnt make use of it plenty people did during our stay.
Lastly I have to mention the staff who were all so helpfull and friendly and kept the hotel spotlessly clean.

So would I go back? ... too right I would 10/10

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Hotel Lapad. The hotel is in a beautiful old building, and our balcony had a lovely view of the harbour. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped; the pool was inviting after a day’s sightseeing in Dubrovnik and the staff were friendly and attentive. We opted for the fantastic value half-board option. One of our daughters is vegan, and though Croatian menus in general don’t seem to cater well for vegetarians or vegans, we emailed in advance and the staff and chef went to great lengths to accommodate her, even creating a special menu for her each evening.
The hotel is in a great location - a six minute taxi ride from the old town (walkable if it were cooler), about a 20 minute walk to Sunset Beach, and just across the harbour from where boats leave for tours of the islands.
Thank you Hotel Lapad for a wonderful week!

Pros
Beautiful and striking looking hotel situated on the harbour. It’s so clean and every area of the hotel is looked after. The Staff are extremely friendly and always greeting you with a smile. The rooms are cleaned, towels replaced and beds made daily.
Great selection of food at breakfast and dinner for all palates, we were half board.
Lovely clean pool area, free fresh towels given for sun beds
If you turn left it is a 10-15 minute walk to Sunset Beach and a strip of lovely restaurants and bars if you fancy a change and a great little beach (very pebbly though so take rubber shoes or slidders) also a very scenic trail walk around the coast, which was beautiful. But also if you turn right out of the hotel, there were some nice restaurants. We ate in Peppers Restaurant, which really was outstanding for our last meal.
We ordered Ubers into the Old Town, costing approximately £4-£7 each way and great value for the 4 of us as the buses were packed in the heat.

Cons
Go early to get a sun bed as there are not many available, but they do free up during the day. Also there are not many parasols. I think I counted 7 and there is not much shade in the afternoon.
Food and drink are on a par with the UK so don’t think these are cheaper and I wish they supplied cheaper bar side snacks and also ice lollies and ice creams as these would amazing by the pool to cool down in the heat.

Overall I would recommend anyone to stay at Hotel Lapad. It was a stunning hotel in an amazing city. We had an outstanding stay here.
