Had a really great two-days stay in Dubrovnik. The hotel is very comfortable, in a quiet residential area, not in a walking distance from the old town, but with a very good local bus connection. It is close to the Dubrovnik bus station, so the location suited very well to my purposes, as I travelled to and from Dubrovnik by bus. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. Beds are very comfortable and it is very quiet, so sleeping quality is excellent. Staff was very pleasant and helpful, even at the breakfast parlour I received useful advice as to how best to reach the places I planned to. The hotel takes all anti-COVID measures and informs the visitors very well. The breakfasts are a la carte for now, instead of buffet, but the nice ladies took a very good care that the guests won‘t lack anything.

Berkeley Hotel & Spa is truly a very special place. The hotel is situated less than a 5 minute walk from the ferry port. The bus ride to Old Town is about 10 minutes.

The hotel can arrange transportation from the airport for an additional charge payable to the hotel, NOT the driver. I emphasize this because we paid the driver directly who once she realized that what we had given her was much more than a tip, promptly (within 10 minutes) called and retuned the cost less the tip to me.

We stayed 5 nights in room 33 which was a Double Room with a Balcony and Sea View. The room was large even by US standards, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel and the rooms were clean and well maintained.

I would describe the hotel as a boutique hotel with an intimate feel where the staff gets to know you by name and remember and cater to your specific needs, like how you like your toast, coffee, or bacon.

The breakfast is a combination of buffet and order service. Some items such as fruits, cereals, deli meats, cheese, and juices are served buffet style. Other items such as coffee, tea, cooked meats, and eggs are made to order. The food was delicious and plentiful.

What sets this hotel apart is superior service. Most of the staff here is not set in defined roles. If you go to the lobby and ask for ice, the person behind the desk does not say “I am the desk person not the kitchen staff”, they get the ice for you. The person you see at breakfast may later be one of the people refreshing the rooms. What this means for you as the guest is that the buck is never passed. No matter who you ask for something, you are never told you have to wait because what you want is not in their job description.

The staff is extremely friendly. We felt like we were guest at one of our relatives’ house. It was truly service with a smile, not out of obligation, but done with a genuine warmth that you could feel and sense.

I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, if you are in Dubrovnik, this is where you want to stay.

Tip: When heading to Old Town, walk the extra 3 minutes (5 minutes total) to the bus stop in front of the ferry port, the Bus to Old Town on the same street as the hotel does not run as frequently as the one by the ferry port. (Bus #1 or #3 direction Pile Gate).

This hotel was perfectly located for our purposes; we were returning to Dubrovnik from Korcula and had a flight the next morning back to the States. It was walking distance from the ferry port, and would have been an easy walk to Old Town if we had attempted that. The hotel is clean and very nice, we really appreciated the upscale bathroom fixtures - the shower was large, had great water pressure, and could maintain the right temperature. Breakfast the next morning was perfect. Wish we'd had more time to explore the area and swim in the pool!

Beds are comfy and rooms are cleaned daily. Pool is small but nice and the little honesty bar is handy.
Breakfast was delicious and we were full every morning. Shout out to the lovely breakfast ladies.
The airport transfers provided were geeat with high quality cars and friendly drivers. We arrived early and were able to check into our room early.

We were extremely disappointed that we werent advised to book the spa in advance as that was the main reason we booked this hotel. There was no availability during our entire stay.
Also they claim to have rituals shower gel etc in the room but when empty they refilled with water so we actually hand hand soap only.

Location is good, only 5 min Uberride to the old city (30 kuna). Close to the hotel there are several good restaurants which get you more value for money than the ones in the old city, so we had dinner here every night.

Had lovely sea/harbour view from our Superior Sea view room. Rooms look very good, modernly decorated and a big terrace. There was construction going on right across the street, in front of our room, but with the windows closed you could hardly hear it. Good soundproofing! Didn't disturb us.

Breakfast is good but I would recommend stretching the breakfast times to 11.00 (instead of 10.00) because half the hotel showed up at 9.30h.

Only letdown was that the spa was fully booked everyday so we couldn't get a massage during our 5 day stay. So book ahead in high season!

Swimming pool area is simple but nice for a cooling dip after a day in Dubrovnik.

Glad we chose this place and not a way more expensive hotel in the old city. :)

For me and my husband was a very good choice. We prefer on vacation to have the whole service that a hotel offers and Berkeley did it very well. Starting by the girls at the front desk, unfortunately, I only remember one name: Maria, they are the most friendly people in Croatia, and all the time very attentive and helpful. The rooms are simple furniture, comfortable, and very spacious to my surprise. There is a pool you can enjoy if not in the mood for the beach. Regarding location if you are cruising it is super close to the harbor so is very is convenient, if that's not the case you have at hotel's door a bus stop that can get you to the old town or as in our case, that we are enthusiastic walkers you'll have the option to explore the city along the route to the center, is a long distance +/- 35 minutes, but worth it.

Great location outside Old Town Dubrovnik being a 5 minute Uber ride (6 euros) or 30 minute walk. Hotel staff incredibly friendly and helpful! They even called multiple restaurants to help us make reservations during our stay. Free parking in the parking garage attached to the hotel. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was phenomenal and included eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, meats, cheese, juices, and coffee. Highly recommend staying here!

Exceptional. Croatia was our 50th country visited, so we have stayed in lots of hotels around the world. While the reviews of Berkeley Hotel and Spa were very good, we did not realise how much of a gem this place is. We came here with high expectations, and they were exceeded.

Location: In Gruz, so away from the busier Old Town. But there's a bus stop two minutes walk away from the hotel, so you can get to Old Town very easily. Especially if you have the Dubrovnik Pass which includes most buses in the city. We used the number 8 bus most days, to get to Ploce Gate and Pile Gate. It also stops at the Cable Car station if you want to go up to Mount Srd.

If you are coming from the airport, the airport shuttle bus stops at the main bus station in Gruz, which is either a ten minute walk from the hotel (slightly uphill), or you can wait for the number 8 bus at the station and get taken to the bus stop outside the hotel (it's one stop, and if you don't already have the Dubrovnik Pass a single bus ride costs 2 Euros - cash accepted on the bus). The other things to say about location are 1) plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, and 2) there are a couple of supermarkets (Studenac and Konzum) within walking distance of the hotel, so it's easy to pick up any groceries. I did read that tap water is fine to drink here, but we stuck to bottled water.

Rooms: modern well apportioned rooms, with comfortable beds, kettle, fridge, safe, TV with multiple international channels, balcony, air conditioning, large shower, toiletries. We thought the rooms had been carefully designed with travellers needs' in mind. Plenty of cupboard space, chairs, tables, a desk, USB port. A sofa that pulls out to be a third bed if needed. Note that the fridge is not your usual mini/tinybar. It's a full size fridge. Useful for all those supermarket groceries!

Breakfast: buffet breakfast served from 700 to 1030, and plentiful. Tea, coffee, juices, yogurts, fruit, nuts, cereals, breads, waffles, pastries, omelette, spring rolls, grilled vegetables, cheese, meats. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and we must mention they went to great lengths to provide us with breakfast bags one day when we had a 630 tour departure.

Other: four floors, and it's a small boutique hotel with about 7 rooms on each floor. Lift, Luggage room if you need to store bags between check out and your departure time. There is also a pool but it was not yet open during our stay.

Berkeley hotel is well situated close to central bus station and to several local bus routes.
Hotel was recently renovated and has all modern amenities.
Hot breakfast was fresh with multiple choice of fruites, cheeses and cold cuts. Unfortunately, the spa was closed on weekend and water temperature in outdoor pool was cool. The bed was very comfortable and toiletries were high quality. I definitely recommend Berkeley hotel as a very good option to stay in Dubrovnik.

We stayed at the Berkeley Hotel and Spa for one night because we had missed flight connections due to a worldwide outage with the carrier, to board a cruise ship which started out from Barcelona. We flew instead to Dubrovnik in order to meet our ship in Port there.

The hotel is small but very clean, quiet and comfortable. The room and bathroom were fitted with modern amenities. The hotel does have an elevator which was good as we stayed on the second floor and didn't have to carry luggage upstairs. Our room also had a balcony that faced the harbor and Port. It's very pretty.

Ines at the desk spoke perfect English. She was very kind and helpful. She contacted our taxi to pick us up from the airport as we were landing earlier than expected and the taxi was at the door waiting for us at the airport when we arrived in Dubrovnik. Ines also provided us with an adapter as we had forgotten to bring one with us from Canada.

The beds were twins pushed together and they were very comfortable. We were so tired we probably wouldn't have noticed otherwise as we slept for 12 hours.

Outside our room in the hallway was a picture window and we could see our cruise ship in Port, walking distance from the hotel. It was perfect!

The restaurant only does breakfast, included in the price of the hotel. There is buffet style continental with fruit, juice, assorted breads, cheeses and cold meats or you can order a cooked breakfast and coffee or tea. It was very good and we had no complaints in fact just the opposite. We would stay here again and we would recommend this hotel.

Thank You Ines for all your help and for a comfortable stay!

1. The hotel can arrange a transfer from the airport if you contact them. I thought this was reasonably-priced (if I recall correctly it was about 40€ each way) and was a quick and comfortable way to go. The driver was waiting for us as we left the arrivals area. Otherwise taxis are also available. The airport website also has some information about buses. Unfortunately Tripadvisor does not permit sharing links so I can only suggest you search to find the airport website. 2. Down from the hotel towards the new harbour there are a variety of restaurants of different kinds. Not a vast selection but enough to give some choice. Of course the Old Town has much more to offer.

The beach is not close buy, the pool is not very large but it was never too busy. We loved the hotel and ability to walk into town.

Hi All superior rooms in the hotel have the option to be with king bed (180x200cm) plus have the option that you can book an extra bed. When booking through online sites we only allow extra bed option in the superior rooms as these are the largest/spacious rooms where 3 people can comfortably sleep. All superior rooms are 27m2 . For direct bookings with us we allow an extra bed in our smaller rooms, Double Room with Balcony and Sea View. These rooms are 24m2. Hope this information was useful. If you require any additional information please feel free to contact us at the hotel directly. Kindest regards Katarina Hotel Manager
