Visited here in March with family through Secret Transylvania from the moment we stepped off the plane we knew we'd made the right choice to visit Romania. We were a little disappointed a few days before travelling as Di informed us we were unable to stay in the ice hotel as it was starting to melt due to the unusual...

We stayed in the hotel at the start of this year. It was hard to get to with the weather but we had a great taxi driver that dropped us off and collected us for a incredible price considering we came from Brasov. The cable car up to the hotel was an experience itself (I don't do well with heights!)...

We absolutely loved it in the Ice hotel. We went with untravelled paths who i would recommend booking with. We spent one night in the hotel, which personnally was enough for me, just for the experience. Not a problem for us, but if you tend to need the toilet in the night, be aware you have to get dressed in...

Was booked for an overnight stay but due to an unusually warm season the ice had started to melt early so it was considered unsafe to stay or to eat in the restaurant. We were still able to have a good look around the hotel and the igloos although the ice church was closed. It really is amazing to see...

This was such an experience! It didnt look like much from the outside, but once you go in, the work in there is just incredible! We were lucky we got to stay in there as it had apparently been such a warm winter compared to normal that the hotel wasn't lasting as long! We stayed in "Hungary" as all the...

We booked to stay here as part of a trip by untraveled paths. The location is great, enjoyed the trip up the cable car. Arrived to find it was melting due to an unseasonally high temperature and not safe to stay in so couldn't have dinner in the ice restaurant or the ice hotel. We were disappointed as this was...

Visited here as part of Untravelled Paths tour, this was our final night and what we were all looking forward to the most! The hotel itself is incredibly impressive, but we paid extra for a private igloo (only £35 more!) there were 4 separate igloos, larger than the rooms in the hotel and connected by a small 'foyer'. The church...

Photos can not do this place justice. First hightlight is the trip up in the cable car going past the Balea Cascade and then the view from the top when you arrive. The hotel is totally made of Ice and it is magnificent, all the rooms inside are themed on a particular country within Europe and have distinct ice carving...

This family run attraction is a wonderful location, however it is rum by bias RACISTS. As tourists we were made to wait unfairly for hours to get the cable car to the mountain top. This family attraction certainly favours their fellow countryman over the tourist and makes it blatantly obvious. My advice, find another ice hotel and enjoy the experience.

Park all of your preconceptions about doing this sort of thing at the door and just immerse yourself, it's not for the faint-hearted, but it's an unbelievable experience. We booked for 2 nights in the ice-hotel but gave ourselves a couple of days either side so we could explore. I booked flights to Budapest intending to stay over in Buda...

“Our rooms were allocated for us as we had the whole place booked out for New Year, but usually travellers can choose which one they want. The rooms furthest from the door to the outside are probably slightly warmer but are closer to the bar. The bar does not stay open late however so unless u want to go to bed very early then noise should not be a problem. This year the theme were the star signs, so I had the Libra room which was lovely. The two middle rooms are the biggest and my favourite was the Leo room with two beautiful Ice Lions either side of the bed.”
