Located close to the city center and offering a wonderful view over the city as it is situated on top of a hill. Keep in mind that you do reach the center on foot in no more than 15 minutes, but climbing the hill back up after visiting the city is a bit of a workout.
We had a spacious room with city view, mini fridge, really clean, comfy bed and two good pillows (a big plus for me). Breakfast was not the usual buffet, but you got to choose how you would like your eggs and also received ham, cheese, veggies, something sweet. Coffee was good.
They also have a restaurant which is overall good, but not to die for - the pork tenderloin which we received on New Year's eve was overcooked and chewy and they didn't serve the fondant potatoes as mentioned in the menu, just some potato chips. On another evening we ordered the grilled trout which could have used a couple more minutes on the grill, being a bit undercooked. To keep in mind that the prices are really affordable at their restaurant.
Service is super friendly and they definitely follow all covid related rules - social distancing, wearing masks, disinfectant everywhere. There is also parking available.

Held a corporate workshop at the Kolping Hotel over two days. Made arrangements with Claudiu from the hotel who was extremely helpful and obliging with any requests we had. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. We had a nice meeting room with a balcony area which was great during breaks etc.The staff at the hotel were very helpful and welcoming and I would highly recommend this as a meeting venue. I was fortunate enough to also have a room that faced to the front of the hotel and the views over Brasov in the morning and evening were beautiful.

Location is amazing. Specially if you get a room towards the front you get to see the beautiful city of Brasov, at the back amazing hilly forests. The rooms are big however lack a much needed coffee machine. Hotel has good facilities and well located to give a good view of the city. Breakfast has a good spread as well.

We were looking for a hotel near the city center with parking. It is definitely easier to find the hotel with a GPS if you are driving because some of the streets are one way and they wind around in different directions. We were pleased to find that there was enough parking in the hotel parking lot. One thing that was surprising was how friendly the staff were, the best on our whole trip. The rooms were spacious and it was a walk from the hotel to the city center. The breakfast was standard but good.

A very nice hotel close to the center of Brasov, and also close to the mountain, with a great view of both. The staff was super nice for the entire period and the breakfast very good. The room was big, and had almost everything you need except iron, slipper and robe.

I feel terrible giving this hotel a bad review because I loved everything about it but the non stop barking dogs! The location is fabulous and just a ten minute steep walk down to town. The views are stunning especially on the balcony for dinner at night. Overlooks entire old city! The food is delicious and the hotel staff is fantastically warm and friendly. Rooms are clean and nothing special but good. However the first of three nights here we were kept up all night long by all the neighborhood dogs who bark non stop and loud. Outside the hotel is a big German Shepard that they leave outside who barks right outside the window from dusk until dawn. Finally the second night I wore ear plugs and cranked up the white noise on my cell phone. I could still hear he dogs but not so bad. It really is too bad because I love this hotel but can't recommend it because you really can't sleep. There is not much the hotel can do about the dog situation either. Too bad. A wonderful place.

Beautiful hotel, clean and with good views of Brasov. Close to Brasov old city and with free parking. Friendly service and good breakfast. If you travel in winter time, careful with the road, as it can be frozen.

The location is good, it's uphill from the town centre but it's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle. Lovely walk down to the centre. Staff were excellent and did their best to help where they could.

We got a family room which was unfortunately because having booked the hotel based on the wonderful views of the town from the front of the hotel, we got a hill and little to look at. We had a makeshift balcony which is obviously used for smokers using the room. Couldn't use it ourselves. Sleeping there was the nightmare. We were very close to the corridor and stairs and there is simply no soundproofing from the door, .. seriously no soundproofing. Didn't sleep much as you get those coming in late and of course those getting early and don't start me with the cleaning staff. Sure they have a job to do but when can hear the trolley and they vacuum going from before 8. We were on hols and sometimes you want a lie in, this morning we needed a lie in, no chance. So even before breakfast I went down to reception and advised that we wouldn't and couldn't stay another night and we'd be leaving. The receptionist was really good and cancelled the next night's booking, no hassle there. Breakfast, well in my opinion, don't bother paying for it. There was little choice, I couldn't even get a breakfast tea with a drop of milk, so it was juice and a slice of toast. Very disappointed and it's not that I've become a snob from traveling but this just wasn't up to much. I won't stay again at this chain of hotels purely to the quality of their facilities. I can't fault the staff however, they were very good.

One last thing .. a hotel shouldn't have it's bar closed at 11pm. It's a hotel and guest like a drink.

I got the best start you could possibly get at this hotel. I met Alexandra in the reception who was kind and efficient and upgraded me to a beautiful room with a view of Brasov and the valley. Hotel Kolping is a hotel with a heart. I loved staying there. It was quiet, in a hilly neighborhood, with a short downhill walk to the historical center of Brasov. I couldn't have asked for more.

We have offices all over the world with our Brasov office being our most recent acquisition.

Hotel Kolping is very comfortable with very friendly staff (who can speak a large number of languages, so it doesn't matter where you are from).

I enjoyed the breakfast (it's simple, but more than adequate) and particularly liked the mini-bar prices! I think they charged $2 New Zealand ($1.20 US) for a beer, so I quite enjoyed kicking back with a beer after work.

Do you know if they serve lunch or dinner? How is the food if so?
Answer from Brad S
Highland, Utah5 contributions1 helpful vote
Yes. The food is good and the menu is pretty extensive. Stay here! Great value. Fantastic views and great ambience. It is literally up against the mountain and overlooks Brasov. Brasov is the ideal spot to hit many great sights in Romania (Peles, Bran, Rasnov, etc.) If you can, also try to visit the Corvin Castle in Hunedora and stop by Alba Iulia to see the citadel and old Roman ruins!
