Pros: Indeed very spacious, wooden furniture and great view.
Cons: personnel lacks empathy, broken furniture, expired room assets, even the shower handle was broken, basic and way too expensive breakfast.
Thankful for lunch and dinner, the chef seems to be the only one that knows it is a 5 star hotel.
I had more pleasant experiences in 2 star hotels with 1/10 the price.
Sorry.

We stayed in room 514. On the positive side, the rooms were very big, the bed comfortable and it was quiet at night. Generally, the hotel would benefit from refurbishment as many areas looked old and tired. The air conditioning worked well and the mini bar was quiet, unlike those of other hotels in which I've stayed. However, there were numerous negative points which need to be addressed. The most annoying was the shower - too small, screen too short and leaked, water taking 8 minutes (sadly I did time it as it happened every evening) to warm up in the evening. What a waste of water and a direct contradiction to the sign encouraging guests to re-use their towels. The basin struggled to fill up as its plug didn't work properly, then the remaining water was slow to empty, whilst making loud gurgling noises. Remind your staff to clean under the rim of the toilet (see photo). The drawers in the bedroom needed attention as they struggled to open and close. Despite hanging the label on the door, indicating that we'd like the room serviced (mainly a need for fresh towels from mopping up the leak), this was not done and it took 3 visits to reception to get said clean towels (1 from the tour guide and 2 from myself). I was told that rooms were got ready for new guests before existing guests' rooms. Preferential treatment for new customers whilst the old ones don't matter! Clearly the hotel was understaffed and they ran out of time. On the third morning of our 4 night stay; breakfast proved to be a real ordeal. Only one coffee machine working for the whole hotel, lack of food due to so many guests and the supply not meeting the demand. It would help if guests did not help themselves to breakfast provisions and make their lunch rolls from them!! Having addressed my concerns to the manager, I did not feel respected and valued.

This hotel was very welcoming, the rooms were a good size. I loved the little extras in the bathroom and the slippers. I also had the most amazing view from my room. (room 512).

Breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a hotel. The staff all worked really hard to make my stay enjoyable. A big shout out to housekeeping who were always busy making sure your room was comfortable.

I am hoping to return soon

When we arrived at the hotel entrance with our luggage, the concierge was just standing inside and staring at us without offering to help with our baggages. We managed to drag our luggages up the stairs and into the hotel and then proceeded to wait at the lobby for check in for more than 2 hours . We arrived 1.45pm from Bucharest. The reception told us the check in wasn’t until 3pm which is ok for us but they wouldn’t even check our documents etc and prepare for when the room is ready. At 3pm when we went to the line for check in they have asked us to wait another 15-30 mins as they said the room is not ready. Plus even though we booked 2 rooms for our family they have said they will now give us the rooms in 2 different floors. The lady at the counter was rude and not easy to work with. She wasn’t even able to cross check our names effectively against our passports and vaccination certificate. The check in process wasn’t smooth and it took a long time. We were ticked off about having to wait and expressed our displeasure. We were then given our room keys and as we were dragging our baggage the concierge was once again just standing in the corner looking away. We went to him to request his trolley and help upon which he brought our bags to the room. There are small things you expect when charged 5 star prices and this hotel definitely does not provide that. If you have a choice I highly recommend you book another. The rooms are not equipped with kettles for tea and they have provided plastic cups instead of mugs (again it’s the little things like this that make for a uncomfortable experience in addition plastic is bad for the environment compared to reusable proper mugs). (I want to add that each plastic mug and cup provided in the room is also covered in individual plastic covers. This kind of waste to the environment is completely unnecessary! )

Far from being a 5 stars hotel regarding breakfast. Only cheap products, no international ones, very cheap cheeses and cold cuts, cold boiled wurst, no fresh fruid salad, I had to pay 2 euros for a decent cup of coffee, the one included again was a cheap one. Parking is 3 ron/h and you may lose the parking spot if you leave the parking for 1h. The price per room plus parking and breakfast included is over 100 euros per night. I would pay 150 if it was worth it. Things will never change in Romania

After a long drive into Brasov from Bucharest, we were really looking forward to staying here. In the pics, it seemed quite nice and the reviews seemed good enough. However, we were surprised by a few things:
1) The non smoking room we stayed in smelled heavily of smoke - there is no way it was a non smoking room
2) we clarified with the front desk that the spa and pool would be open prior to arrival via email. When we arrived, we were notified that all health facilities were closed. While we understand that COVID restrictions have affected all hotels, it is important to be honest and clear with hotel guests
3) Every time we asked for anything, we were made to feel as though we were bothering the staff (despite being one of the few guests).
4) We put a sign up to please clean our room. After not being cleaned until 6 PM we finally had to call down and request maid services.
5) We knew that parking would be 3 lei an hour for hotel guests, and were happy to have an easy place to park as the city is quite small and parking is quite limited. However, we did not know that parking outside the hotel was capped at 24 lei for 24 hours and in the hotel, there was no max. We ended spending a fortune on parking when it could have been significantly cheaper just moving the car. When we did ask the hotel staff what the parking rules were, they were quick to say they did not know of any of the parking rules outside the hotel and were amazingly unhelpful.
6) You can tell from the pics, however when you get to the hotel it is much more clear, the hotel looks very old. The carpets are stained and are from the early 90s or earlier. The couches in the lobby are worn down and the desks are chipped and visibly broken in areas. The shower leaked and the room had no heat as the staff said that during summer months, the room could not be heated, only cooled. In June, after 3 weeks of solid rain in Romania, it was still cold and the room only had aircon.

On the plus side, the hotel was in a great location, overlooked a gorgeous park and had a fantastic breakfast.

I do think there are better options in the city.

I was part of a large group on holiday. We had no choice at dinner, it was a set menu and when a guest declared they couldn’t eat something and asked was there anything else, the waiter was very rude and just replied “No”. I had a dirty knife and fork and asked for them to be changed, the waiter never replaced them so I ended eating my dinner with the dessert fork. My room was freezing, the thermostat never came on even after turning it to the highest, also the quilt is really thin. The hotel is a corporate hotel, very dated and I will not chose a holiday where this hotel is on the itinerary.

Very bad experience.
First of all we arrived for a check in was only able to be done from 5PM (we were offered to wait a third of a small glass of champagne in compensation). Subsequently, we hoped, given the delay in handing over the keys, a nice room. It has nothing, I think it is the least well placed room with a view on the roof of a building, far from the other reviews that we have read with magnificent views. Subsequently the next day because we stayed 2 nights, our room was not made despite our request at 5PM because the bathroom was leaking and when we took a shower, the bathroom was flooded. We wanted to take advantage of the swimming pool and we needed a bathrobe, there was only one in the room. We asked for another by calling the reception, several minutes later, still nothing, I had to go down to ask again at the reception. And finally, during our check out, a cold as an ice cube hostess asks us if we have consumed the minibar and then if we have reserved parking, as this is not the case, she sent us without a smile or a look neither a thank you or goodbye. For a 5 star the services would deserve 1 alone and if you want to stay in that 5 star with a feeling of "You're Welcome", run away and go elsewhere in other 3 or 4 stars or you will be much better received.
On the other hand the proximity and the breakfast very good

Beautiful lobby, large, airy friendly. The room was a great size sitting area, large queen size bed, shower hot and excellent water pressure. Room very clean.
Definitely the place to stay close to old town, easy walking around and felt safe.
Buffet breakfast and dinner tasty and well presented, service was great
Would definitely stay here again.

Like all very large hotels, rooms on the upper floors here become hot at night. Open windows, though having a very fine view, admit a lot of traffic noise. The airconditioning control unit was in a poor state, and the system did not work. There was no fan.
Apart from this major problem, the room was excellent. The bed was firm, and there were enough pillows! The elevated seating area allowed enjoyment of the view through the open “ balcony” door. There was proper furniture, and a coffee machine. As expecter, the minibar prices were more than twice the usual rates in Romania.
The bathroom was perfect. There was a bath! The basin had a working plug! The hair dryer worked ( is this really Romania?).
The buffet breakfast layout was partly duplicated to allow for the large number of rooms, and the arrangements worked well.I did not use the main restaurant.
The hotel is well located near to the historic centre, and would be an excellent place to stay if it had air conditioning.
