Hello, I would like to send a huge thanks to the entire Pearl hotel, managers and staff. For my first experience visiting Tunisia, it was beautiful!.... due to unforeseen circumstances, my husband and I got married in our hotel suite. It was simple and small, but beautiful. The staff congratulated us with complimentary drinks, and cakes. I was not expected that, but I nonetheless appreciated the gesture. The room was beautifully decorated, lots of closet space (if you are one of those people who can't live out of suitcase and need everything neat and hung up!) Free dry cleaning too! The Pearl Hotel is of course, not one of the larger hotels, however if you appreciate the small details and attentive staff, making you feel welcomed, and last but not least, if you have mobility issues and can't walk long time just to get to pool, restaurant or your room, everything is close by. My husband asked for a recommendation for a nice restaurant to take me to, and instead of reccomending their restaurant at the hotel, they offered the restaurant across the street called le escargot. It was small, yet intimate and had a french rustic vibe to it. The owner was present on site, and all staff again were friendly! The food, Yum! So delicious! Plus the ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Speaking of food, everything I had to eat at the Hotel Pearl was simply amazing and delicious!.... As it was our honeymoon, we ordered room service alot, but if we didn't see something that we wanted, my husband asked if they could make it, and almost everytime, they accommodated us and we weren't disappointed. It's those little attention to details that make a hotel a 5 star, instead of a 4 or 3 star. Coming from New Jersey, near New York City, USA, I am used to outstanding hotels, and The Pearl didn't disappoint! It made my wedding day and honeymoon just magical and unforgettable. I would definitely recommend. Hope this helps anyone.

The hotel looks and feels amazing (remodeled a couple years back). The rooms are nice and spacious with a modern design, and are cleaned regularly. The cleaning crew is fantastic, if there's anything you need for the room, don't hesitate to ask them when they're on the floor.

The food in the main restaurant is great, there are always 20+ meals for every course. The only downside is that there are no labels next to each meal, so you're going to be doing a lot of talking if you're not sure what's what :)

While we we're in the hotel, all of the rooms were booked, so there was a lot of families with kids. You'll have to get used to wild kids running around the hotel and the restaurant, which can sometimes get on your nerves.

Regarding the pool, there are 2 large outside pools, with one being reserved for adults only, and the other allowing kids. If you want to have some peace and quiet, choose the upper pool and thank me later :D

To get pool towels, you'll need to get service cards from the reception beforehand. These are free of charge, unless you lose them, in which case you'll pay 40 TD. The towel guys are fantastic, kudos to them!

Be careful when taking up an all-inclusive stay, they have several levels of them. We got one of the lower levels, that included breakfast + lunch + dinner, an afternoon snack and soft drinks 24/7. No alcohol or poolside service was included, and we found that out the hard way. So, if you're not sure what's included, ask the staff at the reception desk.

Finally, I'd like to give special thanks to Fethi, the waiter on the restaurant terrace, he always went above and beyond! He's there during dinner service, and from the very first day he reserved us a table for 2, prepared everything, got us drinks, refills, you name it. If you can, have him set you up :)

All in all, I'd recommend this hotel each and every time!

Enjoyed our stay here. Very nice property. Our room was in 8th floor and had amazing view from the balcony. Room was moderately clean (dusty inside the closet, otherwise clean) provided bottle water, amenities (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion), tea, coffee. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The AC could be cooler, temperature is controlled centrally; balcony lock was broken (we didn’t need the lock as room was in 8th floor). Had complementary breakfast buffet, plenty of options - breads, cereals, eggs, fruits and hot dishes; all items were delicious. Had lunch in Soho Lounge (the poolside) Fish (42 TND) & Marinated Chicken (32 TND), dinner - shrimp salad (24 TND), Shish Tabouk (34 TND) food was good. Staffs are very friendly and nice, not everyone speaks English but they understand body language, had no problems in communication. Enjoyed the pool area, comfortable beds, couches and sofas. I recommend this hotel and would love to come back. Thanks for making our stay comfortable and enjoyable!

Really uncomfortable stay at this hotel. It started with a bad checkin. There was a problem as the member of staff said “ Oh my God” and called a member of staff, no problem they kept saying. Eventually we went to the room which wasn’t a superior double, the guy that took our cases slammed the door when we didn’t give a tip. (We didn’t have any cash). I phoned to say we weren’t happy, the bath was dirty and we had 2 single beds. The same guy came up and took us to another room, we still weren’t happy, so decided to go to reception. The customer service manager spoke to us, she explained that it was a poor country and that they were doing there best, I agreed and said I appreciated this and with it also being Ramadan there maybe some adjustments needed, but I felt having a dirty room that wasn’t a superior double these factors weren’t really an excuse, and that a Marriot hotels have high standards. She then proceeded to get angry and raised her voice. With this another manager came over and took us to another room. When in the room I said I still wasn’t happy and he just laughed at me.

We decided to stay in this room as I didn’t want anymore hassle and unpleasantness.

The rest of the stay:

No air con in the room, the temperature in the room was 28, asked for a fan, we didn’t get one !
No mini bar in the room
The gate and the tunnel to the beach were both closed, so we had to do an uneasy walk to the beach
No where to get towels
Parasols broken
Toilets by the pool smelt with no toilet paper
Pool service poor
Asian restaurant closed
Inside pool very nice but the sauna was only turned on when we arrived at the pool so never reached temperature
Major building works by the pool so noisy all day and at night, wires everywhere, paint, cement mixers, screws on the floor.
No late breakfast option, which was advertised
No snacks, cake, ice cream, crepes, pizza, salad and fruit between 15.00 and 18.00 as advertised.
Buffet very much the same everyday, mouldy strawberries and lots of flies
The spa was always shut, no one around and in darkness
Wanted to take photos of the major building work but wasn’t allowed too by the workers

Spoke to another manager who was accompanied by the customer service manager, the one I spoke to before, she became aggressive and was shouting, the manager had to physically put his hand to her and guide her away.

Two other couples were told by the manager not to talk to me, which was disgusting.

The manager walked around at night talking to guests but ignored us.

A family arrived and unfortunately had complained they were offered a room change an a massage if they didn’t take the complaint any further.

The only positive thing was some of the staff in the restaurant were nice

Definitely not a 5* but can’t fault it too much, the hotel was clean, staff were all friendly and welcoming - especially bar/ waiting on staff. Animation team were absolutely brilliant with us the whole time we were there. Always very cheerful and fun doing pool activities and getting involved with the guests. Only 1 problem with the staff was the guy who took our luggage of us, seemingly can’t of give him a good enough tip for then on he was rude towards us spoke to everyone else but not to us even when spoken too. Which was a shame because tips shouldn’t determine how you should treat someone.

Bed & pillows were very comfy, the room was a good size plenty of space. We had a view facing the beach which was a nice view especially watching the sunrise in the morning - only problem was the noise at night time was very noisy especially on weekends could do with some better doors to block the noise the out. The handle to our balcony door was broken.

Food was good, lots of different choices but was same throughout all week apart from Saturday, got a little sick of eating the same things. Puddings were great.

Good location for the hotel, beach right opposite the hotel, lots of shops and restaurants close by within walking distance everyone even in the shops were welcoming and friendly.

Pool area was good a nice big pool and big selection of sun lounges ( you have to go early to get a decent sun lounger) chilled music played throughout the day in pool area which was nice and relaxing. Lots of shade for when you get too warm in the sun.

Although we didn’t have housekeeping in our room they were more than happy to help when we needed. Very friendly always got a good morning and good afternoon of them.

We chose to honeymoon in Tunisia as my husband has wanted to visit the country for a long time. We settled on the Marriott & we were not disappointed. The environment, facilities, room, food & staff were all amazing. We had a suite which was spacious with amazing views over the pools, out to the beach & sea. It was kept immaculately clean by our wonderful housekeeper Amel. I'm an early riser & found myself going down for a swim every morning & Wassim, who looked after the pool area always had my favourite area ready for me, with towels already placed. Wassim was also a font of knowledge on Tunisian life & with exceptional English was extremely interesting to talk to & learn about Sousse & the wider area. Every day we had Hammadi quietly serving us at breakfast & lunch with kindness, a wonderful smile always ensuring our drinks were topped up. In the evening we had the joy of our waiter, Fethi who always had an outside table & wine waiting for us. His impeccable manners & service added a personal element to our stay, always a huge smile on his face. All of the staff were in fact so lovely from the outside bar through to housekeeping, chefs, servers & pool staff, a huge effort to feel welcome was made by all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott & would definitely recommend to friends & family. I also had two massages & two hydro massages in the spa which was absolutely amazing, along with using the sauna & indoor pool, which I had to myself on both occasions! My only negative point to raise would be that we sought guidance from reception on tours, things to do outside of the hotel & felt that the staff weren't particularly forthcoming with information to help us so we sought this from a travel agent across the road who organised our 2 day tour to the Sahara. Although we spent most of our time relaxing at the hotel, it would have been useful to have access more easily to information to explore Tunisia. But overall a wonderful honeymoon, esp the touches of welcome balloons & cake in the room! 🎈🍰🎈🍰🎈

My wife and I have just got back after a week here and we our already looking at coming back it was quite simply beautiful. We stayed on the 5th floor with stunning view's over the beach, Our room was very comfortable and clean with a superb shower. Breakfast was lovely with a superb choice of fruits and yogurts as well as hot food recommend the freshly made omelette's. Evening meals had a excellent choice of a wide range of meats and pastas and seafood a lot was made fresh for us we loved the fish soup. Our waiter was called Fahti and every night he was so friendly and we never had to order a drink as he was always coming over to check on us and top up our wine or water outstanding service from him and the other waiters. The beach was lovely and quiet and watching the locals fishing was a joy. The Pool was was very clean as were the loungers and beds. The young man looking after the guests around the pool was called Wadji and he was quite simply amazing, He made sure we were ok for drinks and snacks and and would bring us chilled water and nibbles of olives, nuts and cheese he was so polite and courteous. We went for a massage my wife had the reflexology treatment and I had a back massage great value for money and both felt great afterwards. The hotel felt very safe with security staff visible all day and night. There were lots of shops in the area and nothing was to far of a walk. Airport was 30 mins in a cab would recommend pre booking the cabs as we had air conditioned vehicles and no messing about with coach transfers. So all in all it was great value great food great staff. Thank You John and Abi..

The service here is excellent; everyone we met went above and beyond to take care of us. All ages will find something to eat at the dinner buffet, and if the buffet doesn’t do it you can order room service for 24 hours at fairly good prices. The location is good for walking, but there is no direct beach access. One of Sousse’s most popular restaurants, L’Escargot, is directly across the street. Parking is limited, be prepared to park on a curb if you drive. You can buy liquor at the MG chain of stores, two are within 20 minute walking distance. There isn’t any loud resort entertainment here, but if you’re looking for a quiet, upscale hotel for adults/teens, this one fits the bill.

We stayed here for a week in a 7th floor suite on an all-inclusive basis. It was an excellent experience, and a real bargain. Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful; for example, they arranged a taxi trip to El Jem and back which was cheaper and better than those offered by the tour operators. Service was always friendly and efficient and the food at breakfast and dinner was first class – a good variety of local specialities as well as the usual European classics such as pasta, grilled meats etc. freshly cooked by chefs behind the counter. This is certainly not a 'dry' hotel. A wide range of drinks is offered in the bar, including several well-made cocktails within the AI deal. Our suite was spacious and comfortable, with views in two directions. The location is perfect – in fact it is one of the few top hotels within walking distance of the medina (about 20 minutes along the promenade). Sousse is rapidly returning to normal as a holiday destination and this is the ideal place to stay.

This hotel is horrible from all aspects:
1. Space: the hotel is very small (except for the lobby), there are no green spaces for a walk, the parking is not big enough to house all residents cars, the rooms are small.
2. Personnel: The reception guys are not organized, the checkin was supposed to be 2PM but they gave us the keys at 5PM, the young lady with the short black hair was rude enough to not ask for excuse for the delay but instead she talked in a very mean way that there would be no late checkout, as if it were our fault to give the keys 3 hours late!!! As for restaurant and bar guys they were very polite and welcoming.
Hygiene and organization: The rooms were not very well dusted as a consequence the rooms trigged allergy issues for all of us. Besides for a triple room there were only two big and two small towels and two duvet (believe it or not i slept with my hoodie on since i couldnt find the reception number anywhere in the room).
Location and comfort: The location is not very good as the hotel is surroundrd by populair neighberhood and since there was no sound isolation in the rooms, you cant have any rest as you will always be hearing the sound of the cars, the nearby disco and even a fight in the neighberhood. That night was a nightmare for all of us we couldnt have any rest.
Food and beverage: The food was acceptable with nothing special, the cheese and the coffee were terrible. Wierdly the last lunch was good, I m not sure what happend.
