This is my second time at this hotel well that says a lot or I would not have returned. Where do I begin. I arrived and was greeted with smiles from the reception, as they remembered me from my last vist. I was then showing to my room I found the rooms of a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was 10 out of 10 the water pressure was enough to blow away the cobwebs and no issues with water temperature. Room was clean daily. As this is all-inclusive so was served three meals breakfast they as so much to choose from and the waiter kept the tables clean. Lunch and dinner was the same I had not issues with the as they was something there for everyone. Each time I went the waiter would greet me with a smile and they also remember what I was drinking. Would I come back again yes that I would and I am right now planning my return trip

We really enjoyed our stay at club Marhaba. Farouk the reception manager is a credit to this hotel. Happy to oblige, and has a great deal of knowledge about the area. The hotel itself is situated in a good location, it's charming, and all the staff go out of their way to make sure you are happy. Good old fashioned hospitality is scarce nowadays, the Marhaba and its team have succeeded in getting many return guests. Absolutely would recommend. Plan to return soon insha'Allah. Nasreddine

I rarely leave a review, but feel this hotel absolutely deserves to be given a good recommendation. Upon check in, we were welcomed by Farouk, he is a fantastic ambassador, and makes everyone feel welcome. Always happy and wants his guests to enjoy their vacation, Mouna and Anissa very knowledgeable. The rooms are a good size, the cleaners do a great job. Fabulous food, even fussy guests can find something. All the staff in the hotel, are ready with a smile, and judging by the guests, a lot return due to the fact they are made so welcome. Fatima from Guest Relations is a credit also, if you need anything she is super happy to help. We don't revisit hotels we've been to, but I think the Marhaba Club will be the exception. Super value in a good location. We paid approximately £20 for a taxi from the airport, takes around 40 minutes.

We booked this hotel after reading so many 5* reviews, but on arrival wondered if they had stayed in a different hotel! Some things were good, some bad but nothing was amazing and we wouldn’t recommend or return. Perhaps the people who rated it 5* haven’t been anywhere else! We heard someone complain at reception about cockroaches in their room, someone else complained about cash being stolen from their room by the cleaners, and another man was overheard asking to be moved to a different hotel as he wasn’t willing to spend another night “in this s**t hole” Everyone has their own opinion so here’s our honest review. Location 3.* : The area around the hotel is very run down with a few shops dotted amongst disused buildings. Nothing worth walking to nearby. It’s a 40 minute (unpleasant) walk to Sousse. The part of the beach owned by the hotel is stunning with soft white sand & plenty of free sunbeds available. Unfortunately the rest of the beach either side of the hotel was covered in litter & broken glass. It looked like there was a bar on the beach but it wasn’t open (maybe because it was out of season). There are several buildings on site of boarded up rooms. Room 3*: we asked to move from our room (1220) as it had two single beds, the air con & tiny tv didn’t work, a broken cupboard door to the fridge and was generally very dated. We moved after one night to room 1342 - it was still very dated & the air con didn’t work but had a huge double bed & big smart tv (that worked intermittently). It seems all rooms are big but very dated. We had a big bathroom with shower over the bath, with small toiletries provided along with cheap quality toilet roll! Our balcony was tiny with just enough room for the two tatty white plastic chairs & a table and it didn’t have a good view at all (but we hadn’t paid extra for a sea view). Pools 3*: Two big outdoor pools to choose from (including Occidental next door hotel who also have an indoor pool that can be used). Lots of broken/missing tiles around the pools & the water was far too cold to swim in. There were plenty of sunbeds always available (it was out of season though) Service 4.* : The majority of staff were helpful, happy and friendly, especially Madi(?) in the restaurant, Hamza the waiter in the main reception bar, the barman/waiter at the pool bar and Foufa from the animation team. Unfortunately some staff weren’t so friendly: one guy on the reception bar spent most of his time texting on his phone whilst serving. Food 3*: There’s one buffet restaurant & although there’s plenty of choice, it wasn’t much to our liking, or of the quality we expected and the hot food was always lukewarm. The chairs in the restaurant were absolutely filthy. Highly recommend eating out at Farmer’s Steakhouse up the road. Drinks 3* alcoholic drinks were local brands , the beer was ok but cocktails were nothing like they should be. All drinks are served in tiny glasses/paper cups but they were happy to serve more than one at a time. Entertainment 2* :daytime entertainment seemed to only consist of archery, darts or table tennis & there was no way of finding out what was on when. Nothing available on the one rainy day we had & even the pool table was out of order. The evening entertainment wasn’t great. Karaoke on two nights, a dreadful drag act, a man on a bed of nails and a very loud local show. Plenty of taxis available outside the hotel & only 20td each way to Port El Kantaoui, a much prettier resort than Sousse. There’s a cash machine in the Occidental hotel reception but it only gives dinars so only take out what you need as it’s a closed currency.

We were nervous about going to Tunisia having never been before. This hotel may have been 4 start prior to 2015 but now the rooms are tired and a bit run down and the dining room is also tired and furniture is well worn - definitely not 4 star. Likewise the outdoor areas are looking tired. However the rooms and public areas are clean and the staff are friendly and attentive. I suppose it’s to be expected with what we paid that the hotel can pay its staff and provide good food/drink but doesn’t have the money left to update and refresh the rooms - although i wonder if this is a bit of laziness as there are not many hotels left open now and quite a few derelict ones. The thing that is really off putting is the touts on the beach, they're everywhere and even when told no, don’t give up. The hotel security don’t seem too worried about getting rid of them - you expect to be hassled in the markets and on the street, its part of the fun, but not when you’re trying to lie on the beach. Sousse is an interesting place with lots of historical sites and the two day tip to the Sahara is worth doing - although the rubbish everywhere and the attitudes of the people at the sites you stop at leaves a bit to be desired. Haggle on this it started at £460 for 4 people and we eventually got it down to £310. The hotel gym/indoor pool are actually part of the other hotel on the resort but it’s only a 5 minute walk through the resort. They offer treatments here - daughter had a manicure but they were very rough and butchered her nails a bit. The only bit that soured it for us was the patio doors wouldn’t lock on the first night and there was a smell of urine in one of the rooms form the service ducting. they mended the patio doors on the second day but never got rid of the smell of urine. When we bought this up with them we only wanted an apology but they refused to accept there was a smell.

Our waiter salah was very nice, he saved us a table every night and always had a smile on his face. He would top up the drinks without us having to ask and by the end of the holiday knew what we wanted he was very attentive to our family. The room cleaners were also really nice and they cleaned our room to a high standard. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment staff cared about the guests and learnt names and would chat to you. The swimming pool was lovely and also very big with a swim up bar even though it was very cold. The food was lovely and plentiful but did get a bit repetitive with pretty much the same things all week. I would go back to this hotel again and we really enjoyed our visit to Tunisia.

Initially a holiday that was going well turned into a nightmare the second morning we were there. House keepers stole my money £250 from inside my suitcase inside the wardrobe in the room. Investigation done by front desk was check who accessed the room with no follow up and a half arsed apology.

Wow, what a lovely friendly hotel! From the moment we arrived we were given a lovely warm greeting. We enjoyed the food, the entertainment, the facilities & had a lovely time. All staff were friendly & helpful without exception. Our room was clean, comfortable & very spacious. The outside areas were nice, but it was too cold to use the outside pool, thankfully you have the inside pool, which our kids loved! The food served in the restaurant is gorgeous, you have a wide range of choice to cater for all requirements/tastes including freshly cooked to order items! The best part of this hotel had to be the animation team, our kids loved them all and they all made a massive fuss of them. We loved our time at Marhaba Club and would definitely return in the future!
