Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

good food with a chill and calm vibe. The beach is clean and access is very easy. Overall everything is good apart from the room decor being a bit old but other than that, decent destination. Would recommend

I stayed in Room 4 which is on the main floor. The room was clean, beds done everyday. The mini bar was missing some drinks and it didn't close..but call #42 and they will come by with whatever you need.
When calling room 4 dial 004.
The hotel is excellent, it smells like sewers at times.
The food was ok...if you have fried fish eat lots since its really good.
Pizza is good. I was sick of turkey by the end of my trip.
The stuff speak all languages. The fitness room - all bikes are broken, so you can only do weights. Walking is the best exerice.
You can walk for hours when you go left to Souse, the other way there is not much but still ok. Internet Cafe is cheap..both going left and right from the hotel..although they have French keyboards..so it took me sometime to figure it out.
Overall, good stay and very relaxing.

Horrible at so many levels.
Horrible food, horrible staff so rude no respect for visitor what so ever. I have been to so many hotels in the area this one is by far the worst. Don't book here. The price is not fair for a Motel not worth it at all

spent a beautiful Friday in the city of Sousse, exactly at the Qasr Al-Sharq Hostel. The people working there are dharma at the service of the guests. The café is beautiful, led by Mohamed Shteiwi, and the restaurant is very good, in addition to the cleanliness of the rooms.
Especially the activation team, they are a coordinated team that works seriously and professionally. I want to thank Asmaa, Chico, Bassam and Salah for all their efforts.
Special thanks to Asmaa for her efforts every night 😉🎾

Hotel Orient - September 19-29 2006

We are just back from Tunisia. Staying @ Orient Palace Sousse. First of all the hotels are not having the same classification like the Europeans do. So do not except a 5-star hotel in the terms of European rating.
They provide safe, pool (very cold:-), restaurant, separated hall etc, but it is a little bit worn. But in my point of view the most important is cleanliness which is very good in the hotel. (You can grease a little maids' workink method with tiny gifts. We brought from home small chocolate bars, shampoos etc)
Food- If You like that one particular Arabic spice- then You will like the food. Othervise You can eat croissant, spaghetti, rice.
The restaurant is very big, therefor the waiters don't have time to be very kind to everyone, but they are very fast, and You will see-taht is important. Also give them some tip to have Your table clean and ready:-) That is true for all situation - but I think all over the world.
We had half board, for dinner I suggest You to be at the restaurant 6.30- sharp. Othervise no table....

First and last we had great time in Tunisia and in this hotel.

Just returned from a two week all inclusive stay at Orient Palace with 4 friends. We were slightly skeptical on our arrival based on some of the half hearted reviews we had read prior to flying however I cannot express enough how amazing the hotel was. PRIME location to almost everything in Sousse, Mid-way between Port-el Kantaoui and Sousse Medina, excellent beach location and after having walked the entire coast line of Sousse, Orient Palace beach definitely takes first place.

In terms of food, surprisingly after many two-week holidays this was the first in which we did NOT get bored of the food, and was quite exceptional in terms of variety everyday. Do opt for half board or all-inclusive, definitely worth it.

VERY safe for all, including entrance and leaving the hotel. Slightly lacking on the animation team's behalf however it isn't enough to fault the entire stay. Literally cannot fault the staff on anything. Many of the reviews on here are exaggerated, if you are considering the Orient Palace, go for it, absolutely nothing to worry about and will definitely be returning!

Whatever you do, don't go here. We are supposed to be there now, arrived on Sunday last week for Christmas all inclusive, when we arrived the hotel was full of Tunisian people and we were not allowed to go into the dining room we were told you will be better off in the snack bar, that was just the start. In the bar all that was on the tv was Tunisian news or the X factor for Tunisians, when asked if there was any English music to put on we were just answered NO. The staff were rude, not too fresh looking in appearance and we were made to feel really unwelcome. Arriving on the Sunday through to the Wednesday we did not eat a meal the food was utterly dreadful the Europeans which there were 6 of in the hotel compared to the 94 Arabs were not catered for at all, unless you like fish with heads and tails for breakfast or bolognese sauce!! We eventually had to bite the bullet and leave the all inclusive hotel and find another in port el kantoui which is much cleaner and brighter the staff are wonderful and cannot do enough for you at the hotel kanda. The Tunisian people do tend to arrive at the weekend and do seem to take over the hotel and we have seen a difference in the food since they arrived, but have managed to find a little something to eat. Shopping here is a nightmare the Tunisian shopkeepers are nothing less than rude and ignorant!!! At home if we spoke to people in the same manner we would be charged with racism. Your best bet is not to go!

My friend and I arrived in this hotel a week ago and I could not give praise enough. We are friendly and bubbly and because they have to put up with so many miserable people who can't wait to complain - we were a refreshing relief and when we treated them with the respect that they deserved they were the most friendly and helpful people!!

Our rooms were amazing and cleaned each day!

The animation team - so funny and friendly !!

The hotel made such an effort with the food - considering the different tastes they have to cater for.

They have their own pastry chef !!

Massage - amazing (and that is coming from a masseuse).

Pool and gardens - amazing !!

Foyer - Amazing !!!

Beach - well - if I ever stop laughing at the photos that will be a start (uploading soon!!!!) Beautiful sand, sea - clear and lots of fun to be had on the jet ski's etc, etc etc..

Money - everything great value compared with this Country.

Local area - great efforts being put in to improve the area !!!

Thank you so Much Oriental Palace and see you soon !!!!

As far as I know the hotel is open but I think British tourists are being advised not to travel to Tunisia. You should check with your holiday company.

Hi to all questions regs Orient Palace the hotel is a 4min drive to the main Harbour area where there is plenty to do and see.A must do shops restaurants, nothing is expensive in Tunisia.A taxi to get their is £3 uk pounds from most hotels for up to 4people.they speak English very very well and adore the English people ,carnt do enough for us.they love to have a bit of banter (laugh) taxis are every where all of the time so no probs.there is a water park right next to hotel with diff slides we didn't use it but could watch from our balcony.when we arrived it was busy with English,German, Dutch, everyone got on so well (Holiday) there are lots of other Hotels close to Orient Palace and they don't mind if u wont to look around go to reception and ask.Beaches which is one long stretch is shared with each hotel,Men in uniform were stood at gates which give access to beaches and they see ur wrist bands on return.rooms at Orient are dated but lots storage, very comfy beds, room service daily, free Wi Fi ,free safe, and topped up daily awaits cold drinks.fizzys and water. Which u can have as often as u wish.WE WERE ALL INCLUSIVE ? Food was good ,hot, plenty of choice.U could eat after midnight to PIzza, snacks.when we were there they had Bingo, dance, quiz, karaoke, also show twice a week.nothing is to much trouble for the staff just ask if u need, won't,or are not happy. Our room was first floor room 112 quite area for sleep.this is my true and honest opinion We shall be returning again later this year. I wish u all HAPPY HOLIDAYS.Enjoy X
