Firstly if you are looking for a 3 or 4 star English equivalent hotel, this is not the one for you.

If you are looking for a good cheap getaway in beautiful weather then it was great.

The room was clean and tidy. The Food was nice, although as we were out of season and not many guests, it was mostly the same. The pool was cleaned on our arrival and although still chilly, the kids loved the water slides, although some of them did hurt there bum.
Swimming lessons did occur in the indoor pool, but only Saturday and Sunday and only for a couple of hours. The indoor pool was so hot it was like having a bath. The kids spent hours in here.

We could not fault the staff, they were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The security at the hotel was also good.

The hotel is run down and dated. The surrounding area is also run down, with many hotels, discos and casino style building closed as well as some hotels.

The beach is fantastic, although lots of the hotels are having to remove structures that they have build on the beach and did not have permission to do so.

The tourist industry in Tunisia has taken a terrible blow during the last few years and it has a real affect on them.

Yes the TV didn't have any English channels... - Watch TV when you get home.
Yes the WIFI is patchy - Get off your phones and interact with one another.

Not sure what it would be like in peak season, but for us it was worth the very little it cost us for a week in the sun.

Lovely hotel, right on a private beach, where there is an AI bar and free beds and umbrellas.
Rooms are nice, cleaned daily , only downside with rooms is that you have to rent TV remote and hairdryer if you want them.
Some rooms are over the pool, others are facing derelict area, so not great on the eye, but you can pay extra for pool or sea view.
Pool area is great, 6 slides, good kids pools and jacuzzi, foam party on weekly too. Only downside is that they clear the beds and pool by 5.30 as it's classed as a water park and people can pay to go for the day, we found this much too early as it was still hot and sunny at that time, just a tip if you want a bed in a good spot, get down early with towels! (Or tip the pool guy a couple of dinah a day and he will sort for you)
Food is generally good, don't expect burgers if you go to Tunisia, not huge kids selection but fresh pizza made every day.
Drinks are good, and bar open till 12pm with good selection of cocktails.
Staff are lovely and friendly, will help with anything but by far, one of the best things about this hotel is the animation team! They are absolutely amazing! Working long hours and always putting so much effort in, friendly, funny and helpful, it wouldn't be such a great place without them!
Would definately go back!

It is a nice hotel located very close to the center of the city and the historic Medina so each evening you can walk around and explore. Wear and the need for renovation was noticeable. Food is various and lavish, mostly local and spiced but amazingly tasteful. What is not good is that the restaurant is very crowded and you get a feeling that guests are fighting for food. Drinks are local and alcohol is served but we were allowed to take only 2 drinks a time and we were 3 persons. The staff is very polite and helpful. Rooms are cleaned daily but the towels are changed every few days. Animation is great for both adults and kids with shows and mini disco. What a traveler should be aware of is the overall cleanliness. But this should be expected in this part of the world and not to bother with it.

The best thing about this hotel is the cleaners they are so friendly and do a great job 👏🏽.

I have stayed in the hotel before and never again.

To start with anyone is allowed in for the day so all the beds get taken around the pool and it’s too packed to enjoy your holiday.

Locals are allowed in so once they are drunk by 4pm fights break out with lads and girls bottling each other and the pool area turns into a blood bath.

Tunisia people demanding you give up your sun lounger in the shade (if you are lucky to get one) saying they have a baby and know the hotel manager so will have you moved.

The staff in the restaurant are rude and will not even offer to bring you a drink so meal times are good without a drink.

Rude blonde girl works on the reception so if you need help wait till one of the lads are working as they are helpful.

Gave up with the pool and visited the beach twice to find all the sunbeds not in use, when we tried to use them the boys working on the beach told us we couldn’t sit on any of them as they was reserving them for other people (photo shows the beds on the beach the day we tried to visit).

I will not be visiting this hotel again as I will be spending extra and staying at a hotel that only allows it’s guests to use the facilities.

The bar is also located away from the pool and the bar next to the pool is chargeable and you can not use the all inclusive at this bar.

It’s a shame this hotel with good management could be amazing because it’s in a beautiful location.

Avoid like the plague... First of all arrived at hotel late around 23:30. Lobby hot and dirty but we had no problem checking in. Now it all goes down hill.
Guy comes to show us to our room he has blood all down the arm of his shirt a bit rank I would say. We got led to the block on left hand side of the hotel and to the elevator which is dirty and disgusting the hole block is the pits. Walking along the corridor to our room I'm thinking what the Holy hell have we booked. Gets in the room one big bed for the 3 of us. We come with other family they had one big bed for the 5 of them went and complained. The guy with the blood on his shirt brought a stained mattress up to put on the floor safe to say it wasn't used. It was late so we thought we would get our heads down and sort it out in the morning. We had no sleep as a outdoor night club just outside the hotel was blasting music it 5 in the morning.
So next day was told to wait till 12:00 to sort it out. Went back at 12:00 to be told there was no other rooms until I show him our booking which says Superior room with Seaview. So give me a key to see new room. This room is in another block on the right hand side of the hotel. This block was much better much more newly renovated. Our room was much better with 3 beds and an amazing view. That there was the highlight of this hotel. Because after that the food at breakfast and the food at dinner and at tea were shockingly bad they didn't even serve chips. During the day everyone gathers at the pool just like every hotel. But the bar at poolside you have to pay for everything even though this is meant to be an all inclusive hotel. So if you do want an all inclusive drink you have to walk up a load of steps and wait in a massive Queue for warm unchilled drinks. No food at all other than lunch times unless you buy it from pool bar where believe it or not you can get chips but you have to pay for them lol.
Waterslides the joins in them hurt when you go over them. the life guards couldn't care less entertainment is shocking. I could go on and on but I can't be arsed.
On the upside most of the staff were very nice and polite and beach was beautiful. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL

Don’t even know where to start
I visit Tunisia every year as my husband is Tunisia
This year we wanted to take the kids to a nice hotel with slides, nice animation etc.
we reserved a room sea view and got given a room overlooking the rubbish .
We also had booked a baby on our room, I had to wait 5 days for a baby bed to come to our room.
When it did come it was absolutely rancid, the bed was covered it dirty marks and big clumps of dust. (See photos below)
Our room was mouldy and there was water dripping from the walls. The cracks became bigger and animals started to appear.
Reception and staff are so unhelpful, no cups in the room to drink, no hair dryer as it states in description. No WiFi in the room.
The pool was a gang green colour [see photos below}. My kids didn’t even swim in there for our whole two weeks holiday.
The hotel is overrun with guests and yet they still keep accepting more .
The food in the hotel is awful, raw cooked meats, pasta and salad made in tap water which isn’t allowed in Tunisia.
My kids ate just some fruit from here and that same night they both woke up being sick and an upset stomach. This went on for a good 5 days so lost all that time of our holiday.
But this time we had decided to leave the hotel after day 3. And stay in his mums house and it wasn’t clean and we were getting sick.
The animation is next to none. They have no games or activities through the day for kids .
Shows are repeated mostly everyday .
If it was raining everything would be closed up till the next day , and they wouldn’t put on any entertainment inside .
Also the day my kids were sick on the bed sheets, the cleaner told us we needed to stay with them sheets because the hotel has limited 2 cleans per room per stay, that was the final straw for us.. thankfully we had family to staff with. God forbid if we was a tourist .
I will now attach photos below, any questions don’t hesitate to ask
I have more photos if anyone wants to see. But will only let me post 10

A weeks stay.. from the moment we arrived, they were not prepared. Understaffed. We were told the room was ready, so went up and it was not ready. Went back to reception and was told to wait 20 minutes so they can sort out others instead. Gave me a room key for another room, which then was snatched off me and given to another local woman.

The rooms are filthy, cockroaches will be found. No hairdryer, iron, toiletries, TV remote (unless you pay at reception)

Food - no vegetarian options, pure meat. Limited food.

Whilst staying at hotel marabout, all the staff were excellent. This included the reception team who tried to fix any problems quickly. The restaurant team who made meal times better and finally the incredible animation team who planned fun events throughout the day and put on great shows in the evening. A special mention is required for Ahmed, Baby & Malik of the animation team
