I booked a 4 night stay at Villa Angthong. When I first arrived I was told they had made a mistake and overbooked such that they did not have a room for me. They offered to put me up in alternative accommodation nearby for that night and that they could take me the next day. I asked that in return they would give me a quiet room off the ground floor as the 3 rooms (101,102 & 103) are right be the entrance and the kitchen, eating, smoking area and would in my opinion be quite noisy. Also as the window looked out onto this area you would have no privacy unless you kept your curtain closed. I returned the next day and yes, I got room 102. It was the same person who had the previous day said no problem to having an upstairs room. He just said sorry we are full this is the only room. Furthermore I would have to take it for 2 nights as there were no other rooms available for me to move until then. So I refused to check in and went elsewhere. I did see the room and it is well finished and looks just like their photos, it’s also spacious, however completely lacking in privacy unless you keep the curtains permanently closed. I would not re staying here unless you’re a heavy sleeper. The hotel did give a full refund without any fuss so for that I’ll give it 2 stars

The room, particularly the bathroom, looks worn out from the years, but thence its beauty and charm derive: the air conditioning, water, amenities are comparable to offers from a newer hotel, but I would rather stay here, again and again! Just like the country and its people. It’s irresistible and calling for my return visit, soon. And did I forget to mention its proximity to the main stretch?

This spot is best for low-maintenance and highly-independent travelers. Recommendations: - Do self-booking of Bullet train ticket and tuktuk so you wouldn’t be stressed extending, rebooking, and recalculating your budget. - Washroom floor has floor leak , risk for accident especially for kids. - They can surely manage to book you the “Alms Giving” , they give you items(food, carpet, and clothing cover). - Food was just fine, go get their noodle soups! It’s best for mornings since it always around 12-13 degrees at that time. - Friendly staff, shout out to Senglao, even if he MISSED(2x) to book our train ticket as advised 2 days prior the schedule and the Tuktuk request to bring us to the pick up location of our service.

We booked two rooms in this spacious and spotlessly clean villa. Unfortunately, on our first night we encountered non-stop chanting from one of the Buddhist festivals, so the manager kindly relocated us to a beautiful villa on the other side of the town. Had the chanting not been so pervasive, we would have happily stayed at Villa Ang Thong for our five day holiday in Luang Prabang. The location is excellent, especially for visiting the cheap and delicious night markets or more expensive but extraordinary Manda de Laos restaurant. There is also a supermarket close by. Villa Ang Thong's breakfasts are enjoyable, especially as they are served in the lovely garden. We travelled in early December when the days were clear and dry, but the nights chilly. Pack something warm for night-time.

This guest house is located near the old quarter (5 minute walk) but off the main road making it peaceful. The rooms are large, nicely decorated and air conditioned. Staff and incredibly helpful and friendly. They helped arrange a tuktuk for us to visit the waterfall and allowed us to store our bags with them after check out so we could wander the town before our flight. lovely little garden area and balcony with a view add to the tranquility and breakfast is served in the garden. Would certainly stay again!

Despite the deceiving pool advertised, we loved this hotel. The location is perfect, just a block up from where the monks walk in the morning and also the start of the night market. You will want to hit up the night market every evening, the food is incredible, and this location could not be better for that. The breakfast is also good, several options and all included in the room price. Note, they advertise a pool and ever so subtly note that it is off-site. Not only is it off-site with a tuk-tuk ride away, but its a community pool, packed with kids. Yes, there is a bar as shown in the photos but it may as well be a water park, the environment is not what you're expecting. We went to the pool once and otherwise had a full schedule so it wasn't a deal breaker but its not the convenient poolside cocktail kinda bonus we were looking for! All in all, would still recommend this hotel for the location alone!

Lovely little hotel in the centre of Luang Prabang. Rooms were clean and the staff really friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast and within walking distance of all the main sights. They will transport you for free to a nearby swimming pool if you fancy a day relaxing by the pool. The only downside was the cockerel next door at 0430 but that's just part of life in Luang Prabang. All in all, fantastic accomodation at a really good price. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful hotel/guest house. The rooms are very spacious and clean. You are 5 mins walk from the night market and moun pousi too. It is a very cosy place to spend your time and everything is in walking proximity. The hotel staff are very friendly and the breakfast was good. I was origionally going to stay just 3 nights but decided to stay an extra 2 nights. Great place to stay...i will definately return again! Thank you so much.

Right on the edge of old Luang Prabang and next door to TEAC textile ethnology and arts centre and a back-way to Mt Phousi. Great room, clean and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. I Wish we could have stayed longer.

Location was great, it was two blocks from the night market. There was a bit of a smell near the bathroom, but I have a really sensitive nose. They called rides for us, and even bought our tickets to the cave tour. People were kind, and breakfast was delicious. Super cheap for what you're getting!
