Taking inspiration from the original French Explorers Le Bel Air Resort partnered with architect François Greck from Les Ateliers de la Peninsule. François was also the creative prodigy behind The Luang Say Residence, which was designed with the same concept of bringing to life the romance of French Indochina. Dine by the pool located on the shores of the sleepy Nam Khan River or enjoy your own peace of mind relaxing in one of our Explorer’s Rooms. No doubt you will be charmed by the colonial influence that takes its soul from the UNESCO historical town of Luang Prabang. The charming colonial-style property, Le Bel Air Resort Luang Prabang, opened in November 2018 as the premier 4-star resort in town and it features 66 rooms in 3 categories having a majestic river view, a riverside restaurant, as well as an oasis style infinity pool. The Resort is located on the other side of the quiet and peaceful Nam Khan river, a little removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, which makes it such a haven of peace and tranquility! After a long day of visiting temples or enjoying the famous Kuangsi Waterfalls, Le Bel Air Resort is the perfect place to relax and rest! Cross the old french wooden bridge, borrow a bicycle at the hotel (free) or use one of our free shuttles and you'll be in the center in no time!

We stayed at 3 hotels during a 2 week trip to LPB. And Le Bel Air was the only one we weren't familiar with. We read some positive reviews and knew the location was good & quiet so thought we would give it a punt. We were not disappointed, in fact, we were amazed. It's not a 5 star property but it is a VERY GOOD 4 star property (I mean it's very good at achieving its place in that range rather than aiming to be a 5 star in a crowded segment). The staff were the standout characteristic - all seemed to be well trained and astute. Thanks to Tui and the team at front desk who were amazing and there was no request that wasn't pleasantly and efficiently fulfilled. Beds were comfortable and rooms generally good - we stayed in Pavie and were happy with our bungalow. If you are looking for somewhere a stone's throw from the main hustle and bustle this is a great option complimented by a pool looking into the river. If I am (very) picky, they could improve by not allowing external guests in to use the pool and also improve housekeeping consistency. The latter being extremely nit-picky as we were there in the busiest period of the year.
Bottom line: excellent choice for travelers to enjoy LPB.

We originally booked LBAR (Le Bel Air Resort) for 5 nights. We enjoyed Luang Prabang so much that we changed our flights and extended our stay by 3 more nights. The fact that we loved LBAR and felt very comfortable there contributed significantly to our decision. If it weren't for pending projects at home, we would have stayed even longer. First, we loved the room layout (Garnier river view room with balcony) which was quite roomy. It is an almost ideal hotel room layout (I say that as an architect). Then we loved the beautifully landscaped grounds with the pool overlooking Nam Khan River. Indochine the restaurant was also excellent....not an extensive menu but appropriate/adequate and they also had good wine choices. The fish soup is excellent and so is the Mekong River fried fish with garlic! Some dishes are way better than the hyped up restaurants in town (in our opinion). Not only was the food good, but the setting, decor and architectural style were very nice, clean, elegant, and very fitting with the setting. The staff is extremely nice, very accommodating, very polite, and the bar tenders can shake a mean martini, so that was a bonus! We find Laotian people to be very gentle and polite in general. Overall, the hotel, the grounds, the environment, and the demeanor of the staff all contributed to an extremely calm, relaxing, and peaceful experience. This may be attributable to the fact that there were few guests due to the coronavirus problem, but we think it would have been still ok even if the hotel were full. We spent a lot of time in town and tried to check out other hotels and none that we saw measured up to LBAR in terms of the quality of the setting and overall ambience. We highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again.

This is such a lovely hotel that I highly recommend. If you are staying in Luang Prabang, definitely stay here. I wish I could have stayed a week given how professional the staff was, how cute and comfortable the room was, and the restaurant and bar had great food and cocktails. First, the staff was very responsive on email. Airport transportation was prompt, and the driver was polite. The front desk was very helpful, and they arranged tours. I recommend stopping at the water buffalo dairy farm on your way to the waterfall. The hotel can arrange all types of tours, which is helpful. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the room very clean. My room had a balcony overlooking the pool and the river. I was there in the low season, so the property was quiet. I appreciated sitting on the balcony as it was peaceful. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The air con and wifi worked well. The bed was also comfortable. I ate at the restaurant and had drinks at the bar. The food was good, and the service was great. I spent some time at the pool one day, which was also clean and plenty of chairs. The only thing I would note about this property is it is not right in town. It was fine for me, as you can walk there in abut 15-20 minutes or take a taxi. However, if you want to be in town then this is not the hotel for you. On the other hand, this property right on the river is lovely, and the location is still really easy to get around including to and from the airport which is only 5-7 minute drive. You can also get to the waterfall, where everyone goes, in about 45 minutes. I highly recommend this property, and would stay here again.

We stayed here for 4 nights and 3 days and being in Luang Prabang was the best part of our entire stay. The location is a 5-10 minutes walk from the old quarter and the resort gives its guests complimentary bicycles to ride around town. We even booked a car through the hotel to drive us to Kuang si falls and to Vang Vieng.

We loved the poolside area and the signature Luang Prabang sunset cocktail.

All in all this was the best hotel that we experienced in Laos and would definitely stay here again should we return.

Le Bel Air Resort met and many times exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by very friendly staff and helped to our spacious room in the “Garnier” block. It had a lovely balcony looking onto the gardens, the pool and the river beyond. There are only about 65 rooms in the whole hotel and they are beautifully appointed so that you do not feel crowded at all. We arrived a little late to venture into town so we enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Indochine restaurant, a restaurant that we returned to at least 3 other times during our stay. The food was excellent and better than some of the other restaurants in the town. They provide an excellent buffet breakfast as well as a selection of prepared to order western food and Laotian specials. The pool and the gardens provided a sense of tranquility. At the pool the staff was very attentive providing iced water and towels on arrival as well as a good selection of poolside cocktails and snacks. We spent a few extra nights than anticipated and would happily return again.

The location is literally 5 mins from the airport but yet so quiet and comfortable.
You can’t say enough about the staff everyone is so attentive and accommodating.
The pool and grounds are exceptional - a 20 min walk to the Main Street . The monks even walk by around 5:45 on their way over the old bridge .
The view to the river is amazing.

The food is some of the best we have had in Laos. Don’t miss the sunset by the pool - that’s if you don’t do it on the water on the Mekong.

Excellent value for value for the money- the free bikes were a blast.

We stayed here over NY for 5 nights. We had a lovely time. Beautiful room set among lovely gardens. Bedrooms were really comfy and spacious, with lovely balconies and the pool overlooking the river was a welcome rest area after a day out. The staff ensured we were hydrated with glasses of icy water.

Food was lovely. Breakfast delicious and we also had 2 lunches. Burger - amazing, chicken satay skewers-delish and the local fried rice - fragrant and spicy! Take away breakfast was so tasty and not a bit of plastic in site.

The walk into town is well worth it! And can get your steps up!

Was sad to leave and would stay again!

My wife and i recently stayed here for 4 nights. We were in room 22* which was very close to the pool and a casual walk to the restaurant/reception area.
The front desk staff upon arrival were obliviously very proud of their hotel and took good time to escort us to our rooms.
The rooms are spectacular, a double bathroom, outdoor balcony/ patio, plenty of room to move around.
The breakfast buffet was more than adequate, eggs, cereals, fruit salad /yogurt (rec), yogurt, pastries and all sorts of others which i didn't even find. The staff are very attentive, you will never want for anything.
The view across the river/ the bridge, whilst having breakfast or dinner is something which will stay in your memory for ever.
We ate at the restaurant for dinner, which was lovely, they do a special each night, plus a full menu.

Love this place, will come back.

Great rooms, friendly people and beautiful pool.

Unfortunately our stay did not get off to a good start when the team took too long to organise the rooms which we had agreed to; there had been an internal communications issue. Ultimately the problem was resolved and we were upgraded, but in the interim our time was wasted by the hotel staff which was incredibly frustrating.

If you have a simple one room booking you'll likely be fine, but our experience was that two rooms was too much for them to handle and as such we would stay elsewhere next time.

This hotel was fantastic. We really appreciated being a couple minutes outside the center of town, as it felt like a resort but we could also walk into town in 15 mins. The rooms were clean, well furnished, and spacious. The pool has a great view of the river. Breakfast was fantastic. The staff were all wonderful. If interested, I also recommend booking the alms ceremony directly with the hotel - they make it super easy and it was quite a lovely experience.

Are there plenty of sun loungers for guests as I note there are 66 rooms. Also is the pool area in full sun or mostly shade?
Answer from Fiona28

Pool was mostly in sunshine. We were there at a quiet time of the year so there was no "fighting" for loungers! There would not be enough space if everyone appeared at the one time.
