I stayed for the second time at the Manichan. The service is extraordinary, The food is extraordinary. The location couldn't be better. Note the view hotels have noisy street traffic. Manichan is off a main street but right next to the morning and night markets. You'll get good advice and suggestions from the owners, Andy and Venus, will facilitate all...

I am a solo traveler, and booked about 5 nights here. Venus and Andy were wonderful - helpful, available to answer questions, funny, and just always checking to see if they could be of service/get me a drink/check to see that my day went well. The location was perfect - right next to the morning market and close to the...

The breakfast was good, the WiFi strong near the room, shower is okay, and I enjoyed the waterfall tour, BUT... I only know about the room with private bath, the ones with shared bath may be quieter. I had the same room as the previous reviewer, #4. The window has wooden shutters and a screen, no glass, so there is...

you are absolutely right. My wife is lovely and kind. I, on the other hand, am bossy, rude, inappropriate, and all of the other reviewers that say what a nice guy I am must be crazy. is that 'snarky' enough?

The place is very noisy and unfriendly. I arrived there after an 18 hour journey from Bali without sleep and wanted to take a nap in the afternoon. There was construction work and lorries loading/unloading going on in the street behind the room, so no chance. So I was hoping for a good sleep at night but again - no...

Andy and Venus work so hard. They really care about their guests. This is obvious from beginning to end. Their guest house is in the perfect location to explore Luang Prabang for a few days. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the welcome.

We stayed here for about a week and our whole family was so sad to leave. Venus and Andy are consummate hosts, incredibly welcoming and helpful to all their guests, and really knowledgeable. The location is perfect to see the morning market and pop up to the night market but the peace and tranquility of the guesthouse belies its proximity...

We stayed at The Manichan GH for seven nights this January. A family group of 5 in total. We would not have wished to have stayed anywhere else in town. This was not because this was the swankiest or best appointed guest house nor because it was an immaculately clean or well organised location. Rather this was a location in...

Anthony, thank you for the kind words of encouragement!!!! we really enjoyed your company and family too. tell me, what could we have done better to get a perfect 5 stars? there must have been something lacking, and we want to correct that for future guests. can you send me an email and give me a heads-up? don't get me...

Discontinue your research on where to stay in Luang Prabang! STAY HERE!!! That saying, book your stay ahead of time, especially during peak season. I loved Andy's and Venus' legendary hospitality. Venus is a great cook! The breakfast was great and simple. The Christmas Eve BBQ was filled with great food. Her Lao fondue also tasted great. Although during the...

Hello Dear Friend, thank you for the very, very kind words. It was great having you stay with us. NEWS FLASH: we updated our internet service to fiber-optic. Even though our ADSL contract with Lao Telecom had not yet expired and we took a substantial loss, we felt that it was worth the money to get better internet service for...
