Our group of five stayed in three rooms on the second floor for 5 nights at Le Sen over New Years. It was our favorite accommodations during our travels in Thailand and Laos. The staff are very attentive and kind. We were always greeted with smiles and they were eager to answer any questions. The rooms are nice, comfortable, and very clean. We especially enjoyed the balconies overlooking the pool area.

The breakfast at the hotel offers many options and was very tasty. We ate dinner one night at the hotel restaurant and also enjoyed some wine during the nightly happy hour (4-6pm). Restaurant service was top notch!

The hotel is a short 10-15 minute walk from the main part of town but this did not inconvenience us— it’s a nice walk and if preferred the shuttle is available or there are plenty of free bicycles to use for a ride around town.

The staff went above and beyond to create a memorable New Years Eve for all the guests. We were not expecting the additional festivities, but found it very thoughtful and we really enjoyed the food and beverages.

Khob Chai to all the staff for such a wonderful first visit to Luang Prabang! We will return someday and will not hesitate to stay at Le Sen again.

Le Sen is a real boutique hotel - it's small, with less than 20 rooms, and is very intimate and exclusive. Once you step inside its a peaceful and relaxing haven, with the huts surrounding a central pool and lots of greenery. Le Sen isn't in the middle of town and you do have to walk about 15 minutes but the walk is down a busy street and really isn't a problem. Luang Prabang is very easy to walk around and I enjoyed retreating back to Le Sen after a day out.

The service was excellent - all the staff were always very helpful and friendly even when issues occurred. My room was absolutely beautiful, had everything I needed and was very clean and comfortable. I especially loved having a balcony, both to sit outside and look over the pool and to dry washing and clothes on. The air conditioning in the room was also very good and adjustable, so the room was never hot or freezing.

I thought the buffet breakfast was exceptionally good for such a small hotel. They go to a lot of effort. They make fresh juices and there was lots of fresh fruit and freshly baked bread, pastries and cakes. They also have a selection of hot Lao food and western food and a make to order station. Moreover, eating breakfast whilst overlooking the pool was very serene and delightful.

I also liked the gym, which was well equipped and spacious. The pool was lovely to sit by but a little bit too cold to go into.

We stayed there for 6 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. After a lot of research we chose to stay there and were very happy. The rooms are large with strong a/c, which can stay on- which is great when you return from a hot day out to a cool room ,complete blockout curtains, noise proof walls. Water pressure is strong, plenty of amenities ie.razors/shaving cream, sewing kit, cotton buds/pads, shower caps, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrush/toothpaste etc.
Breakfast was order of a menu as much as you like. Including eggs (any way you want) with bacon/sausages, avocado, tomato, mushroom, potato etc. French toast, fruit salad, oats with chia seeds and homemade yogurt, fresh juice, cereals with soy/almond/oat milk. Plus 3 different local dishes and a few other choices.
Pool is not heated but with the heat here you don't need it to be, it's long enough for lap swimming and very clean.
There's free modern well maintained bikes with lights.
4 large bottles of spring water per day.
It is about 20 minute walk,5 minutes on a bike from the centre of town, but there is plenty of local restaurants and cafe/bakeries within 200 metres either way from the front of the hotel. Also there is a free shuttle when you want it (last one is 10pm)-to the post office/night market/ tourist info office corner.
Staff are great and some speak good English.
The owner/manager Phouvilat is onsite and trained in Australia for nine years, very helpful and speaks perfect English if you need help.
Overall their was no real negatives. I would highly recommend to stay there.

We’ve just come to the end of our 3 night stay in this perfect gem of a hotel.

We opted to upgrade to The Villa which was worth the small additional cost. The room was incredibly spacious with an outdoor shower and jacuzzi.

Breakfast from the a la carte menu was delicious and plentiful. The setting in the restaurant was pretty and peaceful located next to the pool which was a great place to relax.

The staff were outstanding, they went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. They are a wonderful team of staff!

The hotel is located approximately 15 mins walk from the main street in LP however we regularly used the free shuttle bus from the hotel. A tuk tuk in the evening cost approximately £2 although the hotel provide a free return shuttle but you have to specify a time.

The hotel arranged a tuk tuk to the waterfalls for $27, the journey took approximately 50 mins each way and our driver was happy to wait for however long we wanted.

What a lovely boutique hotel. Staff so charming, and incredibly helpful - our son managed to involve us in a house purchase while we were away, which required printing forms to sign, then scanned & emailed back to him, which they accomplished and seemed genuinely happy they had helped.
It’s situated just outside of the old town, but we used the shuttle service which runs every 30 mins and it worked really well. The last shuttle pickup is 10pm but tuk tuks are plentiful in town appx $4.
Our room on the 1st floor had a balcony overlooking the pool area, which is set in a sort of courtyard, with sun beds at each end. Large comfortable bed, big wardrobe, safe, tea & coffee facilities, fridge. Lovely bathroom, shower very good, plenty of space around the sink for toiletries.
We didn’t use the restaurant, but the breakfast was very good. Hubby preferred an espresso to the coffee offered, but no problem in ordering. I loved the ginger & lemongrass tea. Homemade yoghurt, fruit, proper French baguettes, egg station, noodles etc. Croissants, cakes etc. Really excellent.
I used the pool each day, and relaxed on the beds, although they were in the shade in the afternoon. Happy hour between 4&6pm. What not to like. Thoroughly recommend.

This is a beautiful location, and oasis in the town. Aesthetic rooms are grouped around a beautiful jungle area and gorgeous peaceful pool, and the breakfast room is off this area as well, cool and clean Japanese type lines and very beautiful and pleasant. The staff went out of their way to help us in every possible way. They have shuttles back-and-forth to anywhere you want to go and can find you a driver for more far-flung tours with a mini bus or by boat, dropping you off and picking you up. My credit card was eaten by the ATM machine at the night market and although Ben had worked a 7 AM to 10 PM shift, we had just talked about it, and I did not want to bother him, I texted him, and he tried to get in touch with the banks, but wrote me he will take care of it tomorrow, since no one was answering. At 8 AM, he showed up at our room, ready to drive us to the bank, who he had insisted empty the ATM early since they originally told us to show up at 2 PM. Our flight was at noon, so we got right in the van and in 10 minutes. my credit card was back in my hand thanks to his handling of this. Also, we were meant to stay eight nights, but had to leave after only two due to an emergency and the manager Benjamin immediately said he would alert the owner, but that we should be refunded completely. The owner negotiated with Expedia and we were refunded for six nights!. Where does this happen? Phat and Pei , managing the front desk, doubling as concierges and drivers, could not have been kinder. The breakfast scene was delicious and magical, room was clean and lovely. Very quiet location.

Loved this hotel. As other guests have stated, it’s situated a short walk away from the night markets and restaurants but there’s a shuttle available. The rooms are spotlessly clean, bathroom has a good sized shower. There’s a gym with a couple of treadmills, bikes, free weights etc. The rooms are situated round the pool with a restaurant in a lovely garden setting at the far end. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially the young waiter at breakfast and dinner, always ready with a smile. Breakfasts are buffet style but with eggs made to order. We dined there once as we were tired after a long day travelling, the menu is short, features Laos and more Western style dishes, all delicious. If you are looking for a small boutique hotel in a peaceful setting, Le Sen is well recommended.

We have just had an amazing four days in Luang Prabang. A big part of the enjoyment was the wonderful Le Sen experience. The staff were wonderful, attentive and super helpful in organising places to visit, restaurants to sample and they had a free shuttle service all over town. Our room was gorgeous with sustainability in mind - refillable bathroom accessories, glass bottles water etc. the morning breakfast menu was always delicious and the daily complimentary afternoon tea was just icing on the cake of a fabulous experience. Thank you Le Sen!

We stayed 4 nights in the suite and this was the best hotel experience during our 6 weeks in Laos. The boutique hotel is designed with so much love, so many details and the ambience is peaceful, calm and relaxing.
We loved everything about our stay: the perfect vegan options for breakfast and dinner (they have so many different kinds of plant milk and they are all homemade), the beautiful garden with fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs, the staff was unbelievable friendly and helpful. The owner runs this place with such much vision, care and love which you can feel directly when entering the lobby. The pool was perfect after a busy sightseeing tour in town. They have even helped us with extending our visa for Laos. We have to say: THANK YOU for the wonderful time. We think about this experience every day.

Also: This boutique hotel is on its way to become more sustainable which is amazing. Vegan options, own vegetable garden that serves the in-house restaurant, refillable shampoo dispenser, water dispenser is following. We just loved how they take care of everything and think about the environment.

Five-star reviews are a dime a dozen…but Le Sen really stood out. The cozy town of Luang Prabang has plenty of places to stay, but the charming Le Sen Boutique Hotel is the way to go. Accommodations are clean with everything you’d need. The Villa room is wonderful with a private outdoor duel shower and separate jacuzzi…awesome. The restaurant makes delicious food with great choices of western or Lao fare. They coordinated a motorbike for us delivered to the hotel that worked perfect. The quiet pool is just the right temperature for the heat of the day or evening. The most impressive aspect was the staff and their hospitality. Every person there was so kind and accommodating making certain all was taken care of. Special shout out to the Executive Manager Benjamin Roger who was outstanding making sure everything was just right (ask him to make you a special cocktail…that’s his side passion!). The customer service at Le Sen was exceptional from the moment we arrived until we said goodbye. Truly couldn’t have received better treatments or a better place to stay. Excellent experience end to end.
