We were there for 2 nights and the reception by staff was friendly with quick check in. The rooms are spacious and cleaned every day. Water coolers around the hotel so no need to carry plastic bottles. The breakfast is a mix of European and Lao, my favourite was yoghurt and honey to start the day with plenty of tropical fruit. The small pond and garden kept very well maintained. The staff spray the rooms with anti mosquito spray in the rooms if they feel it is necessary.

Worth getting up early 5:30am partaking in alms rituals. Climb mount Phousi for view city and Mekong River. Walk the morning market and see the local people going about their daily business

Our flight had changed whilst there and we needed to print the details and the staff were quickly on hand to get this done, with such lovely smiles. Considering the current situation with Corona virus they were still upbeat. The streets and tourist spots very quiet.

Walking distance to Mekong River and plenty of places to eat. Night market is worth a walk from 5pm to 10pm.

Overall I found staff to be readily helpful and the rooms comfortable and clean.

The hotel is beautiful, with lots of attention to detail on show in the rooms. It was great to have refillable glass bottles in the room with water stations around the hotel. The room was spacious, even with the extra bed for our son there was loads of room.
We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and staff were very attentive at breakfast getting whatever we needed. We ate at the hotel both nights and the food was delicious and well presented.
The location is fantastic, right in the centre of town and with a pool to cool off in after a day visiting all the sites - it was perfect.
We hope to go back again.

We stayed two nights and enjoyed the hotel immensely. The location is good for walking to the centre of town and the hotel is a very relaxing place to stay with comfy rooms, bags of hot water, lovely mature gardens and a nice pool. The breakfast buffet is superb with lots of choice and great coffee. Henri and his staff made us very welcome and it was a wrench to have to leave. Highly recommended.

We stayed at this lovely hotel in Luang prabang. The hotels location was excellent for walking into town for dinner, the night market and the various sights in the town, even the early morning alms giving. Our rooms were lovely with a small balcony and lovely clean bathroom. The pool is small but provide a welcome place to have a drink and cool off after a days sightseeing. On one occasion there are no available towels and I went to reception to ask for some ... by the time I got back to the pool there was someone waiting for me with a towel... the service really was excellent. The staff all spoke reasonable english.
Fantastic breakfasts in the sun by the lily pond.
We felt really lucky to have stayed in this ‘sanctuary’ in the very special town of Liang prabang and would recommend it.

This hotel is amazing! It’s beautiful & the staff are so so friendly & helpful. The pool is lovely and the breakfast buffet was delicious. The location of the hotel is perfect, its nearby lots of restaurants, shops etc and within walking distance of the main town but far enough away that it’s not noisy at night.
Only thing I would say is that the shower takes a long time to heat up & the wifi was quite poor in our room.
Would definitely stay again though :)

The hotel has sustainable practices, offering glass bottles that guests can fill with drinking water from dispensers outside the room. It is very well-located, just a few minutes walk from the alms-giving, morning market, night market and phousi mountain. All the members of the staff that we met were respectful and kind. We also liked the breakfast. We had a room on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the pond.

This boutique hotel is very well located in the heart of Luang Prabang. It's very near the key attractions in the city but located on a quiet street making it tranquil and relaxing. We were greeted warmly and professionally on arrival, including a welcome drink. Check in was efficient and we were escorted to our rooms. The rooms, though quite small, are charming with comfortable beds, good air conditioning and wifi, a minibar, TV and decent desk/work station. The bathroom is well laid out and equipped. The room (which was on the second floor) also had a nice balcony with table and chairs. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained and there's a swimming pool. Room service dinner was very reasonably priced, the food was delicious, and the service was friendly and professional. Breakfast in the restaurant was lovely with a nice range of western and Asian foods. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely return and recommend the hotel to others.

Good reasons to stay here: Location (steps away from the main street, river, etc.); Staff (early check-in & late check-outs were no problem); quiet (good night´s sleep): sun beds by the pool (best place to take a nap!); Plastic free (coolers outside the room with hot & cold water and a coffee press in your room!); beautiful grounds (the flowers in the pond were a serene joy). We stayed here for 3 nights and have only good things to report. Lovely city, lovely people.

We spent six nights at this delightful hotel near the town centre. The delicious breakfast buffet offered both Laotian and western dishes and we sat surrounded by lily ponds. Our room was very comfortable and had a balcony overlooking the well kept gardens. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the atmosphere very relaxed and restful. We liked the supply of glass bottles and water coolers to help reduce plastic waste.

Answer from melissa w
Luang Prabang Province, Laos1 contribution
Dear Guest, First of all thank you for choosing the Sanctuary Luang Prabang for your stay in the Royal city. It will be a pleasure to welcome you. The UNESCO Deluxe room is located within our heritage building with a more traditional feel. It overlooks our side garden but not the main gardens of the hotel as the lotus pond. Tis goes for the same for the Suite UNESCO room. The standard Deluxe rooms juste as the Suite room do. All in all, if you prefer traditional architecture and a Heritage seeting than the UNESCO rooms are a must. If you prefer garden views than I would suggest the standard Suite and deluxe rooms. Feel free to let me know your preferences so I may act accordingly. Kind regards, Melissa Woolley
