Great hotel in a outstanding location with restaurants, bars, stores and most of the top sites of Luang Prabang being within walking distance of the hotel. Be aware however that this hotel is now called the Hotel Villa Deux Rivieres 2 and as a result of the name change our taxi driver had difficultly finding the hotel but a phone call to the hotel easily solved the problem.

We stayed in one of their Deluxe King Balcony rooms and it was perfect; one of the best rooms I have had in S.E. Asia. The room was clean, spacious, tastefully decorated, and came with all the amenities one would expect. The room also has a spacious balcony with a great view of the Nam Khan River which is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the many sites which Luang Prabang has to offer. Breakfast was included and you have the choice of being served in your room or in their dining area. We decided to have our breakfasts on our balcony, and it was a great way to start the day. You make your breakfast choice the night before and select a time you want your breakfast delivered to your room. Although the breakfast options were somewhat limited each choice was delicious especially the fresh fruit and being a coffee drinker, I just loved the French press. Best breakfast by far that I have experienced in S.E. Asia.

We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Luang Prabang.

We had a simply- appointed and lovely room with a nice sized bathroom with a
wonderful shower - it fit us well. Staff were polite, accommodating, and were well versed regarding attractions and various costs associated with local travel. Many of our fellow guests seemed relaxed and friendly, adding to our comfort and pleasure.

Pros:Location is good near to recommended restaurants like Bamboo Tree, Tamarind, Cafe Toui and Joma Cafe. Easy walk to most sights and old town. Breakfast choices are good and plentiful. Owner was accommodating to provide apples to suit my diabetic diet. Comfort in room, viz aircon, hot water etc are good
Cons: Other than the small breakfast terrace which is bright, everywhere else is quite dark and there is hardly any public space to relax. Feel of the balcony did not meet my expectation and there was hardly any river view to be beheld!

My friend and I stayed at the Villa Laodeum Nam Khan View for 5 days and we enjoyed every moment of our stay.

This is a family run hotel and you can see they take pride in their work. We had room #7 and it was clean, good size (very rare in Asia) and comfortable. A free breakfast is served in the morning with over 20+ food item to pick from. The stuff was extremely friendly. Their English is not the best but they make all their efforts in ensuring you understand.

The location of the hotel is far away from the main area of the city but close enough for you to walk to all the main point of the city. Also the morning Alms Giving Ceremony is located just a block away from the hotel. Get up around 15 mins before sun raise and head to the street behind the hotel. Find a spot and view the ceremony.

Overall, I had a really pleasant stay at the hotel and will recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Luang Prabang

Hotel located in old city area. Room are big and clean. Staff are very kind. Breakfast are a-la-cart. Booking in agoda is better than walkin. Room with river view is better than city view. You can walk to night market or temple.

Only comment is there is no bicycle service provided by hotel. You have to rent a bicycle other hotel beside.

This small hotel has only 8 rooms. Best thing is the breakfast terrace overlooking the river, very peaceful and very nice! Rooms are good and have balconies. From the hotel you can reach all the sights in beautiful Luang Prabang on food.

Arranged through booking.com, worked out at $90 a night bed and breakfast. Room was clean, bed comfy, hot shower, ceiling fan and air con. Nice balcony to sit on. On a quiet section of road and easy walking distance of restaurants and town centre. Breakfast was simple fruit, choice of cooked combinations coffee and juice which we found to be sufficient. Service was good and friendly.

There are two hotels of similar name under the same ownership. One is on the Mekong river side of the peninsula and the other the Nam Khan river side. We stayed for three nights at the Nam Khan view side which we preferred as it is much quieter than the other. Our friends had booked the Mekong river side by mistake on the internet but the hotel quickly changed that. We had a river view room which was well and comfortably fitted out and very clean. We very much enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evening having a drink overlooking the river. The hotel does not sell alcohol but staff are very willing to go out and buy what you want and there is a fridge in the room. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order on a terrace overlooking the river. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. What more can one ask for at the price.

This is a rather recent small hotel. We had a great room at the first floor facing the river. The management was very helpful. It may have slightly overpriced, but we stayed there in February in the middle of the tourist season.

Good location along the Nam Khan river which offers great views on a quiet street. It's right around the corner from the main streets about a 5 minute walk. The staff were friendly and helpful with everything we needed and made a great breakfast on the river every morning although after awhile the choices seem limited. The rooms were large and spacious although it seemed like mine hadn't been occupied in awhile. There were some hornets in the bathroom but the staff quickly helped to get rid of them. There was a wild cat around at night which made a lot of noise and made sleeping uncomfortable. Also the bed could have been a bit softer. The shower was a handheld type so not too great if you're not used to that. Good value for money for simple place to stay.
