Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Positive 1.) Location, close to Night Market, Mekong River side, Post Office, located at nice, quite green alleys. 2.) Cooperative staff 3.) Daily replenish 2 water bottles 4.) Tea kettle with sugar, coffee, tea etc. 5.) Price very competitive 6.) Breakfast value for money, Fruits, Toasts, choice of eggs, Jam, coffee or Juice etc. Negatives 1.) Linen (specially bedsheets, pillow cover and duvet) doesn't feel fresh or nicely washed. 2.) Reception staff not able to help much arranging activities or providing options, may be english speaking capacity is the hurdle. 3.) Aircon started dropping water at middle of night, but not able to arrange service next day also. 4.) Look and feel inside the room not very appealing. Overall At this price, its ok

When traveling abroad one expects to encounter certain challenges from time to time. When confronted with an unexpected situation, help came from unexpected places. Phuong the manager at Nocknoy Lanexang guesthouse is a super woman. She did everything humanly possible to help us resolve our problem. She is grace under pressure and makes multitasking look easy. She is the heart and soul of this guesthouse and deserves a big pay increase for her excellent work and outstanding people skills.

The room is clean and big enough, there is a bottle of fresh water every day per person and the bathroom is good. There are windows but without glas in it, just a type of shatter instead. But there is a ac so the risk of mosquitos is low. The staff helps with everything (bustickets, motorbikes etc) and there is a cheap and fast laundryservice. Breakfast is included and good.

We had a great stay. Free (very) early check-in after the night-bus was much appreciated! Breakfast was nothing special but had a lot of options including fruit smoothies! Staff was always friendly, we used the laundry and minibus booking service to Nong Khiaw and everything (besides finding out where we would be dropped off) went very smoothly! Would definitely recommend!

We stayed at this hotel and it’s sibling hotel villa le tam tam . The room was Ok, with working air conditioning and a decent included breakfast, but could use some cleaning. There was also a revolting poop smell that woke us up in the middle of the night and made it impossible to fall back asleep. The hotel itself is alright but the reason for this terrible review was that we had a huge issue when it came to the bike rental company that this hotel used. We caused a small amount of damage to our bike and the owner wanted an absorbent amount of money to fix it. Our friends who had identical damage plus a broken mirror were only charged $25 USD while we were charge over quadruple the amount. The hotel owners did nothing to help us in this scenario and allowed us to get royally ripped off - I assume they get a kick back. Moral of the story the hotel itself is fine, just refuse the scooter rental place

We booked three nights at the guesthouse but unfortunately only stayed one. We had to leave the room because the bed didn't feel freshly washed and there were other's people hair still in there. After one night we also got the feeling that there are too many ants and other bugs living in the room with us. Also, the room felt quite humid, therefore also the mattress and the sheets felt damp. The bath was quite mouldy and the toilet didn't work. The owner was very friendly at the beginning but when we showed here the dirty bed and told her that we would like to leave the place, she made us pay two nights and immediately stornated our booking on booking.com so that we couldn't leave a review. We wouldn't recommend the place because of the not clean beds and insects in the room and partly we felt that we payed too much money for the shape that the room was in. The location however is good and the breakfast was nice.

Walked in to 5 mattresses on the floor. Air con rubbish and room full of mozzies so we walked straight back out. No windows, no lock, no lockers, wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Although staff friendly on arrival room uninhabitable.

Loved the stay at Nocknoy Guesthouse. Original stand alone rooms with creative stonework, huge bed and an ensuite. The infinity pool was wonderful overlooking the river with stunning sunsets. The food was special. We intended to visit the village for meals, however enjoyed our lovely choices so much we ate in for breakfast and dinner each day. Sitting by the pool, enjoying a beer, listening to music and going for a dip was the prefect finish after going exploring each day. Our hosts were very attentive and made our stay very pleasant. A lovely location and stunning setup. Thanks

The photos looked lovely but the reality was not too good. The room we had was very cramped with the bed taking up too much of the space. There was nowhere to put your things. Bedding didn't seem very clean and the bathroom was awful, damp and smelly. On the plus side, the staff were very nice and friendly. Location was good and very convenient too. The most costly place we stayed in Laos and the worst.

Never once did I arrive or leave without a warm greeting from staff. I love this place for its location, clean and comfortable rooms, value for money spent, and the friendliness of management and staff. Everything is low-key and efficient. In a market with much competition, Nocknoy Lanexang stands apart as a guest house with a range of accommodation.
