Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Centrally located about 5 mins walk to main square. Supermarkets and shops nearby. Very friendly owners, who share good information. We had a large room (santa cruz)on the ground floor near the central patio (which only gets the sun until early afternoon). Room was large, with comfortable beds and good quality linens. Decor was no thrills. Powerful and warm shower, with decent towels (which are not changed). Very good wifi signal. Shared kitchen small, so get in there early if you are cooking. Common TV room available. Overall very good value.

Great location and lovely hosts. We originally booked 3 nights but extended an extra night. The owners were very helpful and gave so many useful tips and information. We loved the flexibility of the kitchen to help make a change from bought food in cafes. Also made it sociable to meet other guests.

Rooms are nice, wifi works most of the times, and showers function well. As others mentioned, there is zero atmosphere here. There are mostly couples staying in the few rooms available. This would be a good place to stay if you want to be left alone in peace, and not interact with others.

Lovely place to spend your time in Sucre. We checked in for a few days and stayed 3 weeks. The bedrooms are large and comfortable with nice hot showers. The staff are lovely a extremely helpful but leave you to enjoy their place and you are made to feel at home. If you are looking to recharge your batteries and relax this is to place.

Stayed here for 2 nights and loved our stay. When we arrived one of the owners sat us down and gave us a detailed explanation of the sights to see in the city, which was very helpful. We had also mentioned that we wanted to read a book they had in the bookcase, and when we were shown to our room the book was sitting on our bed - lovely touch. We cooked dinner here and the kitchen facilities are clean and handy to use. The shower was hot, the only thing was it took a while to drain so there was a risk of the water overflowing. Other than that we had a perfect stay here.

Dolce Vita is ideal for backpackers and travelers who seek a bit more serenity (and cleanliness) than what most hostels offer. The couple running it is very welcoming and has lots of helpful tips. The room I booked ("Chuquisaca") is spacious, has a clean bathroom, and a pleasantly firm queen-size mattress. Note: no breakfast.

We paid 135 BOB/night for over two weeks in a private double bedroom with bathroom away from the street side (normal price is 150 BOB/night). Room was named Potosi - in our opinion it was the best ones - more private than others and away from kitchen. Breakfast not included. PROS: - Friendly & professional family staff speaks English, French, Spanish, and more - Clean, spacious, well-decorated and furnished room and bathroom with hot shower - Organized shared kitchen (could get a little busy) - Comfortable, open common spaces, lovely outdoor courtyard & dining area by kitchen, and indoor living room with book exchange and DVD collection - Safe and centrally located on quiet street, close to mercado central, and a great bakery with fresh bread @ 11am CONS: - Cannot do laundry on site, but there are Laveraps a few blocks away

This place was super cute and the French/Swiss owner were always helpful and spoke great English/Spanish/French/German. The kitchen was clean and we were able to make all our meals there. The bed was very comfortable, warm and the room was clean. The best thing about this place was the showers. They were hot, powerful and amazing. This place is close to the square and around some great places to walk/ eat. On the day of arrival the owner gave us a map and walked us through the best parts of sucre which was nice. Definetly recommend staying here!
