We stayed at Bertha's for a few nights for 116 BOB/night for a private double bedroom with shared bathroom. Bertha is incredibly warm and friendly, and she and her husband Pepe will make you feel at home (with their children and dog Coco). She invited us to join her for a typical Bolivian fiesta, watch Bolivian movies, have a traditional...

Bertha and Pepe gave my girlfriend and I a warm welcome. They are very friendly and they help you whenever you need. For instance when there was a road block towards uyuni, they gave us advise and kept us posted on the development. Also, there were almost no groups for hiking tours due to the low season when we were...

We stayed with Bertha and her lovely family for more than 2 weeks, even if we just booked for 2 Nights in the beginning. It was one of the experiences which you are looking for while you are traveling. This is totally different from staying in a hostel with everyday changing roommates and bis dorms. From the first evening you...

I took private Spanish lessons at Bertha's spanish school at a very reasonable price. Staying across the hallway from the classroom was really convenient. The room was clean and spacious but what really made the difference was Bertha's hospitality. She was always cheerful and willing to help. Thank you again! At the moment this is not exactly a homestay, since...

My partner and I stayed at Bertha's language school. We were provided a good room with all the necessities. The wifi was as good as anywhere else in town. The kitchen was a bit bare bones but still had what we needed to make a breakfast every morning. The school is situated a couple of blocks from the centre. My...

I stayed with Bertha, Pepe and the rest her lovely family (two kids and the most chilled dog of SA) for a bit less than a month. Initially I looked for a host family just to practice my Spanish, in the end it was so much more than that. Bertha´s family is one (if not the!) the most welcoming and...

I stayed at Berthas house for 7 months. The rooms are simple but realy nice. Right now everything is shared with the family (bathroom, kitchen). This will change in august, because right now they are making the house bigger. The bathroom is pretty big and there is a shower with hot water. But the most important part is the family....

Bertha and her family are extremely welcoming and caring. Bertha came and picked me up from the hostel I was at in Sucre and walked me to her house as I did not know Sucre at all. Everything in the house is very clean with nice bathroom, cooking and wifi facilities. Also a really good place to practice Spanish as...

We had an incredibly nice four-week-stay with Bertha and her friendly family from which we always will have good memories! Their house is located in a middle-class living area which is very safe (as is all of Sucre) and absolutely quiet. It is a 20 minutes walk from town, but you can also take a micro (for 1.50 Bs.) from...

We stayed at Bertha's for only three nights but would have stayed muuch longer if that would have fit our schedule! Bertha, her husband and children really give you the feeling that you are at home. You are invited for dinner once a week and they are always in for a chat. As Bertha is a Spanish professor, this is...

“This is not a 5 star hotel, it is a family home and a very warm and welcoming home. If you are after luxury 1st class accommodation away from traditional Bolivian life then this is not the option for you.”
