We were riding our bikes on the trail and our 1st stop was here and what a find! The Clay house is a quant, fun place, filled with a vast array of genuine antiques and collectable inside and out. Decor that is entertaining for hours. But more importantly every need and more was met. The hosts were conscientious, amenable, respectful,...

First, let me say that Al is a great cook and breakfast was superb. He also made a really good happy hour appetizer spread. In terms of the accommodations, our attic bed was super hard, the worst bed I've slept in in my US travels. The decor is crowded with antiques. It felt oppressive to the members of our group....

The town was amazing, and so was this B&B. Allan and Lea treated us like family, and made the experience so wonderful for me and my family. With super cool collectibles throughout the house, and an amazing breakfast, this really was the highlight of our trip. We stayed in the turret suite. It was very spacious, with a spa like...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us. I hope your wife was safe and sound in Marthasville when you got back to her, after my husband picked up you and the kids to drive you back to your truck in Defiance! That must have been a long and cold wait for her since...

Sometimes less is more; here more is really more. Call it history without a theme...but you could probably fill a few antique shops with all the 'stuff' here. There are also three dogs that are often found in the kitchen. And then there are all the M&Ms in containers that require to stick your grubby paw into the jar. No...

Glad you enjoyed your stay at the H. S. Clay House and we're sorry that you didn't appreciate the effort to supply you with things to do i.e. antiques and such since the sidewalks roll up at 5:30. You have a good point about the M & M's and that we were slack in replacing the scoops in the jars....

A couple blocks from the Katy Trail trail head, our wonderful hosts (Lea and Allan) gave us tour of this marvelous home housing wide-ranging historical and antique collections. You can't enter a room without encountering a dizzying array of marvelous collections. Walk outside into the back yard to enjoy a fire pit, swimming pool (forgot your swimming suit?--no problem, they'll...

The H.S. Clay House is a terrific option for a couple's getaway. The B&B is packed with history and collectibles. My wife & I read poolside in the late afternoon sun. We enjoyed quiet time together in the cozy study listening to music and playing board games. We had a wonderful evening meeting new friends. The breakfast is a true...

So glad that you could see how much we love this job! Wish you'd been here just a few dats later to see the beautiful new pool liner that we put in. If we'd known that we were going enjoy the 90's in Oct. perhaps we would have kept it open a little longer. As always, I like to complain...

This was my first staycation overnight getaway. The hospitality was great and the house had lots of character. I stayed in of the suites and the private bathroom with clawfoot tube was another retreat area. There is a winery and silly goose is within walking distance. The winery closes at 5:30pm and silly goose opens at 5pm for dinner. So...

My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend for one night. We planned a last minute trip to Augusta to visit the wineries on a Saturday afternoon.
