Just great. Already planning our return. Superb accommodation, lovely staff and actually very handy for the town (10 minute walk once you have the directions clear).

This is not a fancy hotel, it's an up-scale B&B that is run like it was a fancy hotel. Peter and Virgil are wonderful hosts. They arranged excellent guides to Angkor. Good food. Dinner if you want it. A very lovely, low key hideaway. The public spaces, pool and gardens are beautiful. A terrific traditional building they have restored and...

Beautiful rooms and gardens are just a bonus when compared to the wonderful welcome afforded by Peter, Virgil and their kind and attentive staff. This was our first visit to Cambodia, and we placed ourselves firmly in Peter and Virgil's hands. They ensured that we saw the best there was to see, accompanied by excellent guides, and all at remarkably...

Very warm welcoming by Peter and Virgil. Precious advises about what and how to visit Angkor. Great organization. A little far from the center for people who want to feel the night life. Mattress to be seriously improved.

* Peter and Virgil (the owners) helped us with planning our stay: it was perfect and we appreciated the personal touch. The tuktuk driver drove us to all the beautiful places, P&V arranged a good guide and shared a lot of interesting background information about Cambodia with us * Great food (try the gazpacho for lunch) * Relaxed atmosphere, nice...

I stayed at the Cockatoo for 4 nights in January and just like the previous person mentioned, ended up in a room with the worst mattress I ever had. It was so soft, that it went up at the sides, and I'm a small person. My back hurt terribly after one night, and I told Virgil and Peter that I'd...

We thank the writer of this review for the kind remarks she makes about us. However, we feel we have to clarify her observations about the mattress , for which she obviously takes her cue from the previous reviewer. Long before this reviewer came to Siem Reap (she made her booking with us months in advance), she sent us innumerable...

On arrival we were met at the airport (nb. If arriving at domestic terminal check the international terminal - 2 mins walk away if you can't see a black t-shirt with a cockatoo on it). :) The hotel is in a good location to walk to the town centre whilst being far enough away to be completely quiet in the...

We just finished a week's stay at the Cockatoo and we are missing it already! This is a really exceptional boutique hotel that feels more like an extended stay with gracious and generous friends in a charming house set in peaceful gardens. We had just arrived in South East Asia from the UK and were is real need of rest....
