On arrival at the airport we were met by our charming driver, Phall (thank you my friend) who took us to The Cockatoo in a Tuk-Tuk. Once there we were met by our delightful, informative and very attentive hosts, Peter & Virgil, who immediately made us feel right at home. The staff are very friendly and the food...DELISH! Any questions...

The Cockatoo is the kind of place that inspires people like me, who have never written a review before, to do so. It is all the good things you've read here, and much more. I arrived in Siem Reap on the eve of a full moon. My first view of The Angkor Archaeological Park was by moonlight; words cannot describe...

We spent 6 nights in November at this lovely place. The owners, Peter and Virgil, are wonderful people. We have never visited a hotel with so much heart and soul. The resort is a charming building. We loved to sit at the spacious first floor overlooking the beautiful garden with the swimmingpool. At breakfast, at dinner and other times just...

I chose the Cockatoo Resort because of the reviews on trip advisor and it more than lived up to expectations. From the first inquiry to the 'thank you for staying' email, Peter and Virgil were helpful, informative and truely welcoming. Over welcome drinks Peter helped up plan our four days in Seim Reap, explaining the various temple touring options and...

We had a wonderful time at The Cockatoo resort in September 2010. Staying only three nights we felt home and relaxed just from our arrival. Virgil (one of the owners) welcomed us with a cold drink and refreshment towels and took the time for a introduction to Angkor and the Temples - we have never been received so friendly in...

As we wanted to experience different accomodations, we booked a 5 night stay with two resorts. The Cockatoo Resort being one of them. We spent the first 3 nights at Cockatoo and boy, we wished we had spent our entire time with them! Our Cockatoo experience started with our friendly Tuk Tuk driver Phall who picked us up from the...

We originally booked our stay for four days and ended up staying for five. The hosts, Virgil and Peter arranged everything for us, from the pickup at the coach depot (which we arranged the day before), to the tours of the temples and guides. The resort is a lovely tranquil place, with a beautiful garden and pool and the hosts...

Definitely the best place to stay in Siem Reap. Peaceful, relaxing, amazing swimming pool and garden, and the 2 lovely owners you will never forget. There is no other place like this in Siem Reap (we spent 2 nights at THE ONE before discovering this jewel and there is no way to compare). the Cockatoo Resort is a complementary experience...

Beware. We reserved a room to stay at this resort through laterooms.com. We informed them of the precise time we would be arriving and arrived at that time to find the main gate and side gate were locked and when we knocked and repeatedly called out there was no reply and there seemed to be noone in the resort. We...

Allow us to simply state the facts: 1. Two days before the scheduled arrival of this guest and her partner, we sent her an email asking their estimated time of arrival, flight number, etc. We purposely emailed her because, contrary to what she says, there was no “precise time” indicated on the reservation form sent to us by Laterooms, and...

We planned to stay for 4 days but we ended up staying for a week. We had quite a memorable experience in the cockatoo, thanks to the two owners and their fantastic resort.  We arrived at night after an exhausting trip from Thailand. We discovered a truly beautiful place: the small cottages and rooms surrounded the big swimming pool in...
