Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

WiFi is horrible. AC does not work properly. Bed is so hard. The pool is nice. The staff kept saying they would fix the internet, but no change. I do not like the fact they only provide two keys. That was a pain to deal with. The staff are very nice, just not informative.

Just returned from the wonderful Siem Reap and stayed in The Royal Crown Hotel & Spa, i have been to many Hotels over the years and would say that this is one of the most welcoming hotels i have ever stayed in, from the chambermaids to waiter staff every one had a smile on there faces and couldn't do more to help you if they tried. The spa is run by a lovely bubbly lady who will run you through all there different treatments and then you will have again the very experienced masseurs, if you like a strong massage the girls can break bricks with their thumbs, maybe slight exaggeration but not far off, again all lovely funny girls. The position of the hotel is 10/10 just a very short walk to all the street markets, pub street etc. As for getting around i used the same Tuk Tuk driver a Mr Lam as he great English and took me to a lot of the old Siem Reap which was great to see, again he can be contacted at the front desk in the hotel. Would i go back again, a very big YES no questions asked. Thank you to all the Staff at The Crown Hotel for making it such a great stay, especially to the Manager in the Spa, such a funny lady. Jerry

Used to be very good, stayed here on previous occasions. Regrettably, don’t know if it’s to do with possible new owners, but needs to be avoided. There are plenty of better, and cheaper hotels in Siem Reap. Booked supposedly a “Deluxe king size room with balcony. Balcony was unusable due to noise from electrical equipment in hotel and overlooked staff accommodation and service area. For price paid, approx $100, you can get better accommodation in London, U.K. for same price . On contacting management they displayed a couldn’t care less attitude merely sending a standard response e-mail reply. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID !!!

Booked this hotel for a bit of R&R after a busy few weeks touring Vietnam and Cambodia. It was listed as a 5* spa hotel, this is definitely not a 5*, barely a 3*. I would say the photos the hotel uses are about 10 years out of date, the hotel is tired and tatty in places. We booked in, tried to keep an open mind thinking we just needed to chill and if the food and service were good we’d see through the tired room. We headed to the roof terrace which was anll closed up, furniture piled up in corner annd very unattractive. After an ok lunch in a very dated empty dining room with good service we went to the pool. There are 2 both at the side of a very busy, noisy road, not quite the calming space we wanted. After sitting there for only 15 minutes we saw 2 rats, one actually ran under my sunbed! We then checked out, the staff were polite but refused to refund our payment. We were there just over 2 hours! Eventually they returned 2 of our 3 nights and listed the noisy air conditioning as our reason! We hadn’t said a word about the air conditioning. I did write on the form that the hotel was not the 5* we booked and had rats running round the pool area.

From the smiles of every staff member to the attention of your every need Royal Crown Hotel and Spa definitely helped my visit to Cambodia feel safe and taken care of. My sister and I tried our best to speak Khmer and you could see how happy the staff was to try and understand us with our heavy American accent with a lot of American words mixed in with our Khmer. From helping arrange boat rides to Battambang and getting us back to getting massages in our rooms after long walks around the ancient temples and most definitely having a bar at the pool the team at Royal Crown definitely made me feel like Royalty.

Booked through non refundable booking site or would have left. Food at buffet very poor quality , beds very hard and left my back hurting. Not very clean and service not to the standards of other Cambodian hotels. Worst part was I reviewed the hotel while still there and the front desk confronted me about the review. I was told the manager wanted me to take it down. I told him I stand by my review. I told him I thought it was bullying and asked to speak to the manager but he was on his ay to Thailand. I will be reporting the behavior to booking .Com as traveller's have a right to their review and my review is consistent with other poor reviews of this hotel. Went to a super airbnb around the corner for less than half the price.

Loved staying here. The hotel is very chic with colonial architecture. The location is great. Within 5 minutes to the old market. Nearby are supermarkets, restaurants and nice coffeeshops (check out muffin man in the parallel street). The staff is super friendly and helpfull. We booked a private car for Angkor with them and our driver Pon was the best. They also helped with bus tickets. The room was spacious, clean and bright. Bathroom with bathtub. The rooftop bar is super nice although mostly empty. The food is good and affordable. The pool is a plus after a hot day of exploring. The breakfast is great with a selection of Western and Khmer options. Only negative: Breakfast only until 9:30. This is too early. I am on holiday and don’t want to set an alarm to make it for breakfast.

Our 4-night stay at the Royal Crown Hotel & Spa was pleasant. Starting with the location, it offers a very short walk to the Market Area and the popular Pub Street. The staff we encountered throughout the building were friendly, warm, and always willing to please. We booked the Royal Crown Suite with Complimentary 60 Minute Massage (for two) package. The room was quite spacious, and although the furniture is a bit dated, it was all comfortable. I would have liked to have had a shower head instead of a wall-mounted wand, but that really wasn't a big deal. The breakfast buffet delivered an adequate choice of items to start your day, and the quality was good. The massages we received on the morning of our last day were nicely done. We never used the pool, so I've no comment on that other than to say it looked wet, lol. And, lastly, the rooftop bar is worth a visit during happy hour. All-in-all, we enjoyed our stay and would encourage others to consider staying here.

Not sure why it's got a higher star rating than it has, it was like staying in a pricey hostel. To add we had 2 Australian skool groups staying which added to the torture. We picked this based on reviews, location and giant ibis bus pick up, all which I could have found elsewhere at the same price with less of the headaches. Noisy old building with a basic waste of time breakfast, which is usually something I can take or leave, but when I saw what they packed as our breakfast for our early temple tour, that was the icing on the cake, pathetic, seeing as they initially complained when we asked for it, when other reviews had said Brill things about the takeaway breakfast. Should not have wasted my time or theirs. What's more u have 2 pools on the street that are tiny with no worthwhile space, deceptive pictures And finally advertise non smoking, our second night, the cigarette smoke in the corridor was so bad that when we asked them to find out what was happening, and said it was the room across from us they did nothing. They asked us to move rooms at 11pm instead of the room at wrong. Brilliant customer service. Don't stay here there are lots of options around it doesn't live up to the reviews given.

Spacious and comfortable room, good air-conditioning, lovely staff and perfect location. Breakfast was plentiful, though nothing fancy. My balcony looked over the busy street, but double doors kept the room quiet and I slept well.I enjoyed my stay here and would happily recommend it.
