Five Star For The Price Of A Travelodge. Stayed for 3 nights as part of a Riviera package deal. Room - superb. Service - friendly and superb. Food - superb, including the international buffet breakfast. Plenty of tuk tuks waiting to go into town for only $3. Highly recommended!

My Borei Angkor experience began with the charming Phophorng checking my friend and I into the hotel upon arrival. She was cheerful and explained all the benefits I received from my booking which was a lot actually. Free dinner, laundry, drinks, etc. Pretty cool package actually. Good AC and bed. Hotel has lots of wood and nice vibe tucked away off National street. We came for the temples and to check this small town out and picked Borei for its location and reviews. I have not been disappointed. The cost for the hotel was totally reasonable and we both really enjoyed the friendly and accommodating staff. I liked it well enough to come back for two nights on my way home from Laos so this is my second time actually. The gym is a full gym not like other places. I had three massages and facial at the spa. They had jacuzzi and hot/dry sauna. Massages were fantastic and very reasonably priced so no need to ever leave hotel but I suppose if on a budget, one can always find cheaper. Buffet breakfast with lots of stations and we had dinner at the normal and fine dinning restaurants...both great. Food all around was good. There is a bar by the outdoor pool which is large and much needed as it gets hot. Again, love the smiles and friendly staff...hard to beat. Note: there are pool facing rooms and others that face the back so just depends. I chose the sunset side room but you are looking over rooftops FYI. Siem Reap info: Airport; The Chinese built and leased back a new airport ONE hour from this hotel. Customs is confusing and very slow so be prepared. Very unfortunate but I went through this pain twice. You will fill out two forms on the plane but you must get a $30 visa which is only good for ONE trip ONLY into country. Found this out the hard way. When coming down the stairs to customs, go right to the Visa line far side and give them Visa, two forms, boarding pass. Then you have to go to next line and pay the fee. Then you go to another line to get your Visa back. Next you go wait in customs line to show all these documents. I did see an e-visa line but it was not any better. Most inefficient and confusing customs I have ever been in and I am at 68 countries. They don't take Visa and you need to have clean, new money as anything old or weathered they kick back so be prepared with fresh money. Took 1.5 hours!! Don't forget one hour to get back to hotel depending on time of day and traffic and you have to go through customs to get back out of airport and believe me, they are in no hurry so give yourself time as flights seen to run pretty efficiently over here and they shoot for wheels up when the time says on ticket. Cab ride was $40 US to hotel..my package included one trip so I used it on way back. We ended up hiring the cab driver for the next three days at $40 per day to take us around town and to temples. No need to book in advance as he had all the guide info we needed because it pretty straight forward what you're going to go visit honestly. One day we went to the mountains which was a cool view and where they got the stones for the Angor temples. This was a busy day as we hit the mountain, couple of sites...big buddha, 1000 site, and waterfall plus the land mine place and butterfly farm in one day. Waterfall is a hike so if you want to swim you can change there. About 105 vertical steps back up and then uphill back to car so be prepared. Waterfall was a good workout for the morning. He also took us to a lunch at places with air conditioning which is a big plus as it's hot so an AC lunch is a nice break. We hit five other temples including Angkor Wat which is the big one. They all do seem to blend together honestly in the end so we just hit the main ones and were plenty happy. Pub Street and night market. Tourist spot with bars, resturants, and tourist stuff for sale. Nothing major in my opinion but a small party area which we had fun hanging out watching that scene. Bored hotel is located on the other side of the river as a landmark and walking distance to it as well as the TRUE local market to the right of the property. This is where you get to see the real people of Siem Reap and as with most asian markets, it was interesting and cool to check out. Past that walking is hot so its easy and cheap to just take a tuk tuk to get around or better yet, order a car with AC as it's all inexpensive enough here. Four days was plenty of time in our opinion to visit and hang out here. But for sure, the Borei hotel I can recommend to hit all the marks for your stay and if wanting to chill longer, this place Plenty of people in and out of the hotel as temples are the big draw. Not sure one would come here just to lay out by the actually, but a nice way to finish the day. If you get Phophorng checking you in, tell her Kevin said Hi. She is practicing her English so give her a good chat for me!

This is a place you must stay!! The location is very a short Tuk Tuk ride from Ankotr Wat and the Night Market. From the moment we walked into the grand entrance we were pampered with cool cloths and delicious juice and seated comfortable reception area while we were checked in and a wonderful attendant, Vanly, explained the amenities and services that were available. His delightful and cheerful demeanor were reflected in staff throughout our stay. The decor, live soothing traditional music, and spacious architecture blended with huge wooden pillars and spiral staircase provided a unique, impressive and comfortable environment. The rooms we’re also spacious and our balcony overlooked the clean, and inviting pool area. The spa provided several services and we had a wonderful couples professional massage in a calming and peaceful spa setting, and my pedicure was great too! On the day we had to leave early for the day’s activities, the restaurant staff provided us big breakfast-to-go boxes because we wouldn’t be able enjoy their wonderful high quality breakfast buffet as we did on our other mornings. I would highly recommend this high-end hotel; it was our favorite place to stay in Cambodia!

Loved this hotel. It was a 5-10 min tuk-tuk ride to the city center. What made it so great was the staff! From the airport pickup to the spa, to the breakfast staff everyone was so friendly, helpful and kind. The pool and pool restaurant was great. We did the culture night which was so great in seeing Cambodian culture.
