We booked this hotel based on the experience of others we have seen online. But it is clear that since they stayed here (2 years ago) until now, the hotel has gone downhill. The dirt road leading to the hotel is horrendous. You are jostled from side to side on your tuk tuk, and when it rains, it becomes impassable without transportation. The hotel is located far out of town, and far away from any restaurants or supermarkets suitable for westerners. The closest shop is a bakery near the Total gas station around the corner, and they are extremely pricey. (Do try the Iced Americano though, its delicious). The hotel itself is pretty dusty; they do continuously mop the floors, but it is very ineffective. The floor in our room was very dirty, and they didnt seem to have mopped it when they serviced it. The gowns are filthy and full of stains, as are the slippers. The walls in our bathroom had what appeared to be fecal splatters on them. The bedsheets were not changed during our stay either. The breakfast is very good. Lots of options, and very tasty. Overall the staff are amazing; absolutely no complaints there. They go above and beyond to help you. I can’t speak more highly of them. The hotel also seems to be a frequent place for Chinese tour groups to call home. They are incredibly obnoxious, loud, rude, and have no consideration for the fellow guests. They are yelling at all hours of the night, doors are slammed, and the breakfast area becomes deafening. We either waited until they left, or took our breakfast back to our room. Overall, we were disappointed (in all honesty). I would, however, return if the rooms/sheets are updated a bit, cleaned better. Also, if the dirt road is repaired outside. Once again, I commend the staff for doing an outstanding job. They should be very proud of themselves.…
I've been staying at this place for 10 years. I has been sold and gone down hill. Noisy, restaurant is closed except for breakfast. There are no restaurants near by. The road in is almost impassable. Staff doesn't really have a grip on service. Credit card use is a problem. when it was Golden Mango is was a great place. Since it became Forest King it's popular with Chinese guest and it's noisy now. All hours. Too bad. I liked this place.
I been there and arrive hotel with friendly receptionist, they offered transfer service to Siem Reap International Airport as I wish for. Bed is soft and nice balcony to relax. Walk only few minute to Highway road. I really enjoy their to stay there.
We are backpackers who fancied a change from the dorm rooms. We had the most amazing time - the rooms are great, and very reasonably priced. Breakfast is included and to order. The pool area was quiet and, although not in the sun most of the day, a perfect place to chill all day. We were able to shower and use the facilities after checkout and the staff made us feel more than welcome. Free tea and coffee all day and good WiFi. Would highly recommend. It is a little outside Siem Reap, but easily accessible via a tuk tuk that is always outside! Staff were so friendly and we felt like royalty!!
This lovely cozy hotel offers you a great value for its price. Situated a bit outside from Siem Reap you have a good sleeping guarantee. The ride to the city is 5 mins by tuk tuk and it is close to Angkor Watt. I mainly enjoyed the super friendly and always smiling staff! Even though their English is not perfect they try everything to make you happy! Recommend and would definitely stay there again.
